Maybe they're not the main focus of most fans but there are reasons to watch Nonthaburi FC in 2011.......

  • The club have moved to Rajprach-Nonthaburi's old ground and are looking to absorb old Raj fans.

  • The club have signed players that are of very high standard for D2 level.

  • Eka fans are a boisterous bunch.

  • The club are run by a wealthy and influential politician and policeman (and friend of Newin Chidchob) and without tempting fate, seem bizarrely well run and organised.

  • Big name coaches are being pursued including Rene Desayae!

I will be following the team and perhaps one other forum user will, too.

It would be hard work blogging on Nonthaburi FC though, and any support would be welcome.

Why would it be hard blogging? Didn't you blogging already before and all the time?

Is that something on the plus side?

I believe the words I used were: " reasons to watch..." :-)

Obviously it has plus and minus points. We all want our club to be well funded and have influence, but most of us want it to be done fairly. It's hard to get that balance I suppose but so far Nonthaburi have done a good job of it.

Definitely one from the left-field. Do you know how that signing came about?

It could go either way for the lad. We recently had a triallist with excellent credentials from North America who found the differences between Thai and North American football a little greater than he was expecting.

So, that would translate into a team that owns by a wealthy policeman, wouldn't it? Which comes first, wealth or policeman? Smiley
