The Bkk Utd, Songkla and Army group will be a close one to call. From the other group, Si Saket will certainly start as favorites.
I'd like to see the Army and Air Force stay/go up but I predict the group winners will be Si Saket and Songkla.
I'd like to see Songkhla go up, but i fear that they will be out of their depth in the TPL. So another year in Div 1 might be better for the team's development as a whole, although saying this, Div 1 could be rather weak due to the number of team changes. I would like to see Bkk Utd stay up, if only to keep the capital team in there, but if they do then they must get there act together next season, sort out a ground and really try to get a fanbase on the go. I'd also like to see the AF back to the top flight. I think AF could be like the Police and hold there own in there. It would be nice to see a team from the south represented in the TPL. But if Songkla don't make it in the play-offs, I feel it will be difficult for them to get promoted next season. In my opinion, I can see the 1st division being much stronger next season with potentially Buriram, Chiang Mai and Phuket joining the league. These teams will surely invest and it wouldn't surprise me if we see at least 2 of these teams in the TPL for the beginning of the 2012 season. If Bkk Utd do stay up, I'd like to see them return to the Thai-Japanese Stadium next season. It might not be the best stadium in Thailand but it's far better than the Bangkok Uni stadium that they have played in towards the end of last season.

How can Thai players play 38 matches / season like their partners are doing in Premier League ?

How can Thai players play 38 matches / season like their partners are doing in Premier League ? Chonburi have played 43 games so far in league and cup this season. And that doesn't include the Super Cup and the BTV Cup. Muang Thong will definitely have played more and Thai Port will probably have played more. And just think of all the extra revenue a twenty team TPL would generate.

That all depends on who finishes in the bottom three of the TPL and the top three of D1 in 2011.

Samut Songkram are negotiating with former Brazilian international Ailton.
I am not sure about that. And I think I made it clear in my News Flash. I guess, like Vinnie, I've learned my lesson - Read Loko's site before posting;) My source is a weekly magazine that is already a couple of days behind when it hits the shops, and even further out-of-date by the time I've struggled through the bits I'm interested in. However, to show I'm not afraid of getting burned again, I'm going to post some more news I've just read in the relevant club threads. After checking Loko's site, of course.

@ wolf, thanks. I am not free of mistakes, even though my fellows and I are trying our best. And it's always good to have several sources. However, the "Kicker" Germanys high profil football mag stated that Pires singned with Villa, just revise it the same or enxt day.
re Ailton, he was howling about the cold rainy weather in Bremen a week ago. So maybe that brought his or an agency on the plan.

I know, it's hard to plan things in Thailand, but maybe FAT & TPL can have a look at this calendar: http://static.bundesliga.de/media/native/autosync/rahmenterminkalender2011-2012.pdfThis is the calendar for the next season starting in August next year where you can see all matches in the leagues (1+2), in the cup, international and also the A-Nationalteam and the U21-Nationalteam.

Actually FAT produced a calendar last year, it would have worked well if they didn't introduce the League Cup.

The first thing that strikes me here is Buriram's figures being similar in both halves of the season, despite playing 10 homes games in Leg 1, and only 5 in Leg 2. Perhaps they benefitted from other clubs in leg 2?

Perhaps they benefitted from other clubs in leg 1? I'm surprised at a couple of figures. I didn't think Police would be so high up the ticket's table as they don't particularly have a big support. Secondly TOT had higher ticket sales than TTM and Osotspa. I can only assume that their figures have been boosted by their home game with MTU. On another subject, I'd like to know how much BKK Glass made in beer sales over the season. At 80 baht for a pint of draught Leo, they must be raking it in. At a guess I'd say thay must sell about 1000 pints on a match day. Which equals 80,000 baht per match. Times that by 15 and you get a tidy sum of 1.2M baht.

From that article: "All army footballers must play for this team only. Anybody who defies this rule will have to leave." That is the essence of Gen Prayuth's orders. Confirmed in this week's Football Siam. However,... wait for it... PEA stars Suchao Nutnum, Kirati Keawsombut, and Suriya Tomthaisong are all soldiers. Coach Attapol Busapakom (PEA) said that the clubs have had discussions at board level, and decided that these 3 players can decide their own futures. Attapol is confident all 3 will want to stay. At the time of writing, Suchao and Kirati were still away with the national team, but Suriya had elected to stay in Buriram, as it is his hometown. The article doesn't make it clear whether these players will have to quit the army (as per the quote) should they choose PEA.

According to Siam Sport - Suchao and Kirati have made the shock choice to stay with title challengers Buriram-PEA instead of relegation strugglers Army United.

Similar off-field rumblings at Samut Songkram to those at Navy. I think the coach has been sacked, as he didn't show up to meeting(s) to review the season. There may have been another transgressions too, but they're beyond my comprehension. About 10 players are refusing to train in support of the sacked coach.

Really? What are your views on this? He was one of the players you mentioned as being key to the improvement shown by PEA in Leg 2. IMHO it was a combination of things during the first half of the season we could not score to save our lives the only player who was scoring was Dudu.We were however not conceding which kept us in the hunt. But drawing so many matches has its drawbacks. The turn around came with the form that Douglas,Suchao,Rangsan were showing week in week out along with Kirati,s return from injury. With the Dos Santos,Theerathon and Seydou in defence playing consistantly well in front of our keeper(Ammarin). Pipat scored a few but i don,t he was 100% fit but his arrival fired up Suriya who is banging in goals for fun at the moment. So we started turning draws into wins Or is having Pipat as a rival so important to his form that they're both being sent to BFC?

Of course it is not confirmed yet. But that's the date everybody is talking about. And one of the reasons they consider to held the king's cup earlier than scheduled.

So, let's pick up where we left off. Why do the TPL/FAT go out of their way to do things which invite suspicion?

I'm surprised Nattaporn got the award over Panupong. I guess they felt they had to share it around, that's why Terdsak got the midfield spot over Datsakorn :-)

When i was told this from a relative of his I could not believe that Suriya was dropping down from PEA to FC but from what i understand he has been made a good offer to stay and play with FC.Maybe they will sign him back if PEA are not scoring. On the Pipat front he did not look fit maybe he was carrying an injury but with those two FC should score goals next season.

I've just been told that the fixtures (first leg) will be released tomorrow.
On which web site are they posted?

Well, let's hope they can stick to a schedule for at least half the season. Port had probably 20 fixture changes last year and it was quite frustrating. I'm really excited about the news that the season will start mid Feb. and look forward to chatting with you guys this season.

There ain`t much news on the english version, so if people wants to know something they have to use the thai version. English has been useless until now anyway, but let`s hope it will be better in 2011. And however, the schedule will be Thai anyway I would suggest. Even on the english site.

Yes it was planned that Pipat should play for Buriram FC. But I guess Pipat didn't had much of an interest. And so they swapped with a young lad from Oso. and as Vinnie already posted the link above I try to track all the actual transfers. You can find the whole list here: thai-fussball.de - Transfer overviewWhat is missing, 4 brazilians from Army, the Korean lads for Police and one Japanese lad from Singapore for Sisaket.

SRS, I'll take the liberty of answering your question in regarding to the sudden expansion. There are specific group of people who flex the muscles these are also people who can also say whether or not vv will stay or go. Lets hope that the real premier teams punish thier boys to submission in each of their game (although it could lead to officiating chaos).

Fixtures not up, but under the resources tab on the homepage, there's a shiny new 2011 calendar, with matchdays for the LC, FA Cup, and TPL + others listed. League kicks off on Feb 12th. And ... the King's Cup is listed from Feb 6-9 EDIT: Sorry, matchdays for the League Cup aren't listed, just the opening day.

wolf, take a look at the bottom and you will see that the calendar is from 15 December. And that was before the change of the Kings Cup.
