A lot of goals today and good results for MTU but the lack of inward transfers still has me worried.

Haha, I guess CFC and MTU are fall short compared to BGFC in inward transfers. I am not sure whether it is a good idea to bring in far travelled players like "Hertha" Berlin and Dave. Does Chonburi not like to sign high profile thai players? Really wondering at the moment.

Atletico Madrid to play TPL all-star in friendly Europa League champions Atletico Madrid will play a friendly with an all-star Thai Premier League side next month, organisers confirmed yesterday.
The match will take place at Rajamangala stadium on Aug 1 at 6pm, Siam Sport Syndicate said.
The Rajamangala Nationalstadium was announced as the venue for this event and the kick off will be at 17:00 local time. Atletico than will face a so called, TPL All-Star team which will contains players, picked from several Thai Premier League clubs. The lineup of the squad is not known up to now. But most likely, players like Michael Byrne, Therdsak Chaiman, Nattapon Phanrit und Teerasil Dangda will be picked. Former Thai international Piyapong Piew-on will be named as coach for the Thai side. Piyapong hitted the net 103 times for Thailand.
Atletico Madrid is expected to arrive on 31 July, while their departure is scheduled for the 2 August. The Imperial Queen's Park Hotel in Bangkok was chosen as their accommodation. At the same location, a banquet is scheduled for the players right after the match. Which players are picked by coach Quique Flores is not known yet as well. But it will be most unlikely that Diego Forlán and Sergio Aguero will travel to Thailand. Due to the recent World Cup, both may still remain on vacation.
While a friendly between English club Newcastle and Spanish side Sevilla has been cancelled because of the high organising cost.
Atthachai Burakamkovit, permanent secretary for tourism and sports, said the match was orginally scheduled for July 28 as part of the celebrations of Her Majesty the Queen's birthday on August 12.
However, a number of officials were against organising the match because the ministry needed about 120 million baht to stage the match, he said.
"I am sorry for the fans," said Atthachai.
In another development, Spanish giants Real Madrid have turned down Thailand's offer to play a friendly here.
Some reports say the Madrid side did not have a plan to come to Asia this summer, while others claim they were scared away by the political situation in Thailand.

After eighteen rounds of matches last season, Chonburi were four points clear of Muang Thong. They overhauled the deficit and eventually won the title by three points. Chonburi currently lie five points behind the leaders. Here are a few stats from 2007 - 2010, the years that the TPL has had sixteen teams. http://www.clubwebsite.co.uk/chonburifc/club_news.pl?news=383023

I do hope the Army team survive this season. Personally, I'd like to see TOT go down, but if this did happen, I don't think we would see them as they are now.
Siskaet and Bangkok United seem doomed. I hope both can bounce back.
Bangkok United took the giant step from being a Uni team (champs in 2006) to the whole of Bangkok which was probably too much. They should of stuck to an area of BKK rather than trying to be BKK.
I must be honest, i do feel a bit sad that it looks like we will lose Bkk Utd from the TPL and I don't know what there future will hold. I would be 80% certain that it could be the end as we currently know them.

Yeah, I agree with you. The 2 teams are only 6-7 points behind safety, BUT will need 5-6 victories in their last 12 games to survive. When they`ve only won 2 of the first 18 it`s not realistic to think they can triple that in the last 12. And BU have Buriram and Muangthong in their next 2. Can`t see them win any of those. Anyway, still hoping for a miracle to come our way...

The Spanish side dictated play against Thailand's Premier League All Stars from the start Sunday.
Eduardo Salvio of Argentina opened the scoring in the 16th minute followed by Alvaro Dominguez in the 24th. Simao Sabrosa of Portugal scored the third in the 85th minute.

August 5 as for as I remember correctly. So not much time for MTU to sign somebody, or passing Leesaw to CFC.

"I'm confident we can cement 5th or 6th place and challenge for the title next season." That has got to be the worst prediction since I said Bangkok Glass were going to win the league . Link: http://www.slideshare.net/nigb/football-story-by-the-big-chiliWe had a good start with 4 points from the first 2 games, both away from home. And we had a new sponsor/owner, who wanted to spend some money. Many of us was optimistic. But maybe all the postponements had something to do with the form going down the toilet? I think 6 of our games was postponed because of the red shirts, and 2 of them 2 times. Anyway, we have been playing badly (to say it kindly) in many games, especially at home, and deserve to stay bottom. Hoping for a shock result at home to Buriram this weekend. We played 0-0 away from home, but should have won, I`ve been told.

LEARN FROM ATLETICO : ABHISIT BANGKOK (2 August 2010) Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said that the Thai players should make it a point to learn from their playing experience against Spanish side Atletico Madrid.
Atletico overcame a stubborn Thai Premier League All-Stars side 3-0 in a friendly that was played on Sunday.
Spanish ambassador Ignacio Sagaz Temprano, Atletico CEO Miguel Angel Gil Marin and their players had paid a courtesy call on the prime minister at Government House before their departure back to Madrid.
Abhisit told them that this was a "golden year" for Spanish football as their national side won their first World Cup and Atletico Madrid won the Europa League.
He said he believes the visit by the Spanish club would help give foreigners confidence that Thailand is a safe place.
Abhisit said he was disappointed that he could not go to watch the game at Rajamangala Stadium and believed that the Thai players could gain many things from the visit by Atletico.
"The Thai players should learn from Atletico's beautiful passing and team work. We should learn from their techniques and playing style," he said.
Marin said the trip was useful for his team in their preparations for the new season and their European Super Cup match against Champions League winners Inter Milan on 27 August .

Sharks bite back to close in on Muang Thong at the top Chonburi FC returned to form yesterday when they secured a 2-0 win at TTM Phichit in the Thai Premier League.Chonburi striker Pipob On-mo makes it 2-0 yesterday. The Sharks cut the gap on leaders Maung Thong United to two points but the defending champions have a game in hand. Muang Thong host Thai Port today.
Both Chonburi goalkeeper Sinthaweechai Hathairattanakool and his opposite number Samuel Por Cunningham were in good form and made several saves.
But Samuel could not stop a shot from veteran midfielder Therdsak "Thai Zidane" Chaiman who gave Chonburi the lead five minutes after the interval.
Striker Pipob On-mo made sure that the visitors got all three points with an injury-time strike.
Bottom side Bangkok United handed high-flying Buriram PEA their first defeat of the season with a 2-0 victory.
Maxim opened the scoring for the captial club in the 41st minute and Preecha Chaokla made it 2-0 with four minutes to go.
It was a good start for Prapon Pongpanich who was appointed Bangkok United coach in midweek.
Dubbed the derby of the country's major cement producers, SCG Samut Songkhram could only draw 1-1 with Insee Police United . Samut Songkhram fans celebrate a goal. Panuwat Yim-sangar scored for SCG after 58 minutes and Chakrit Buangarm equalised for the visitors in the 70th minute.
Si Sa Ket improved their chance of survival with a 4-1 win over fellow strugglers Navy Rayong.
At Leo stadium, Michale Byrne opened his account in his debut for Bangkok Glass in the 60th minute only for Joseph Tyrer to grab a point for TOT-CAT after 78 minutes.
At Nong Prue ground, Pattaya United beat Army 1-0 with Ludovick Takam scoring the winning goal in the 43rd minute.

There is also an election in Bangkok that weekend too. Not sure if its nationwide though. That means no football or alcohol. Definitely not the time to be booking a flight to bangkok.

Muang Thong maintain gap Muang Thong United maintained their five-point lead in the Thai Premier League yesterday after defeating Bangkok United 2-0.
Datsakorn Thonglao gave Muang Thong the lead after 59 minutes and Dagno Siaka finished off the bottom side in the 87th minute.
The Kirins were dominant for long periods. Bangkok United were coming straight from their upset win over previously-unbeaten Buriram PEA last week but could not replicate their giant-killing exploits again yesterday.
Muang Thong are still five points clear of Chonburi FC who sealed a hard-earned 1-0 victory at relegation strugglers Si Sa Ket.
Chonburi got off to a fast start when Ndebi Berlin opened the scoring after four minutes.
Si Sa Ket fought back spiritedly and got a penalty after 17 minutes only for Victor Amaro to see his kick saved by Chonburi goalkeeper Sinthaweechai Hathairattanakool.
The hosts piled pressure on the visitors in the second half and missed several good chances.
Wuthichai Tathong gave the Sharks a scare in the final moments but his shot was saved by Sinthaweechai.
Teerathep Winothai, who is on loan from Muang Thong, made an auspicious start in BEC Tero Sasana's colours.
He scored twice, after 49 and 80 minutes, as BEC cruised to a 2-0 win over Insee Police United.
Buriram PEA bounced back from last week's defeat against Bangkok United with a 2-0 win at TOT-CAT. Dudu and Pipat Tonkanya were on target for the visitors. Buriram are third, four points ahead of Port and Pattaya but with a game in hand.

The 1st round of the League Cup will be played that weekend. Some games anyway. Navy Rayong and Bangkok United will meet in the FA-cup that weekend. If there`s no football in Bangkok, you can go shopping...

To my knowledge, they've only announced that the next round will be on the weekend of the 28th/29th August. Why they can't just produce a schedule for the whole competition is beyond me.

18th September, 2010 I would urge anyone with any interest in the bizarre to go along to the BEC Tero v Muang Thong Utd match on this date. Don't bother watching the action on the field. Focus all your attention on the "technical areas". You won't be disappointed.

Rajnavy coach resigned today? Second coach to leave the Navy this year.
Seem's TPL has a problem. The bottom clubs have their coaches leave within 4 months. The top teams lose their coaches to something bigger or different every season.

I can't understand how TOT can get away draws with Bkk Glass and Thai Port and then lose at home to Police Utd.
