Good second half after a pretty boring 1st half at Tepsahadin. 0-0 at halftime, Tero scored two quick goals from Teerathep Winothai and Anon Sangsanoi. Anon headed in his second to make it 3-0, before pulled one back from the penalty spot. Anon completed his hat-trick, which also puts him back on top of the Golden Boot standings (level with Ludovic of Pattaya with 14 goals). Jakob got a late consolation for Port.

Muang Thong denied by late TTM rally Muang Thong United were stunned by TTM FC Phichit who came from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw at Yamaha Stadium in the Thai Premier League last night .Muang Thong’s Amorn Tmammanan, left, battles for the ball with Valci Junior of TTM Phichit during their TPL match at Yamaha Stadium last night. The draw could be costly for Muang Thong in their bid to retain the title. The Kirins are on 63 points, five clear of Chonburi FC with two matches to go. Third-placed Buriram PEA are on 56 points and have played one game less than the leading duo.
Muang Thong raced to a 2-0 lead with goals from Christian Kouakou after seven minutes and Kone Mohamed in the 39th minute.
TTM fought back spiritedly in the second half and Kraisorn Sriyan stunned the home team with goals in the 70th and 87th minute.
Several Muang Thong players looked exhausted as they are chasing four titles. They are still in contention in the AFC Cup, FA Cup and League Cup.
With the point, TTM are almost certain to stay up in the top flight.
In yesterday's other match at Thephatsdin Stadium, BEC Tero Sasana thrashed Thai Port FC 4-2 thanks to an Anon Sangsanoi hat-trick. Teerathep Winothai scored the other goal for the Fire Dragons. Busy works for MTU . I think they just should pay attention to TPL and AFC CUP !

The first one is MTU in the black & grey stripes from their D1 days. As it's Dale's picture I'd guess they are against Chonburi or Sriracha.
The second one could be MTU but the logo looks very similar to the Raj logo (crown) so it could also be them. Judging by the rain throwing up from the pitch, it looks like the Thunderdome so I'll go with MTU. No idea who they are playing. It could be Osotspa or PEA Ayutthaya.

t.e. the second pic definatley is MTU. Opponent isn't PEA. Depending on the season, I would say it's KKFC. If this pic is from 2007, I have no clue. ...need to look in my archive at home.

Chonburi 2 Buriram PEA 2
Chonburi out of the title race. Thong need just one point to secure the title. I wonder if certain rich people will be making any transactions in the next few days? :-)

TPL title hopefuls cancel each other out Title challengers Chonburi FC and Buriram PEA drew 2-2 in a result which only benefited league leaders Muang Thong United in the Thai Premier League at Chonburi Physical Municipal stadium yesterday.Buriram’s Luis Eduardo comes under pressure from Ronald Kufoin yesterday. The draw means Chonburi cannot overhaul Muang Thong while Buriram now require the league leaders to lose their last two matches. Muang Thong just need one point from their last two games to retain their title.
Chonburi began well and took a 2-0 lead in the first half with a brace from Pipob On-mo (6th, 25)
Buriram fought back well in the second half and goals from Douglas Gardozo (54) and Kone Seydou ( 68) ensured the Thunder Castle earned a draw.
Relegation-threatened Si Sa Ket gave themselves a ray of hope with a spirited 4-0 win over TTM FC Phichit.
On target for the hosts were Viktor Amaro (25), Piyawat Thongmaen (46), Phairoj Anantanarong (60) and Tatpong Larthum (81st).
Despite the win, Si Sa Ket will still need victories in their last two games to stay up.
At Rayong stadium, lowly Navy Rayong earned an important point in a 3-3 draw against Bangkok Glass thanks to a hat-trick by Wilson dos Santos.
Peerapong Pichitchotirat put the Navy ahead in the 3rd minute before dos Santos equalised for the Glass Rabbits with a 29th-minute penalty.
Bangkok Glass appeared to take command with goals from Michael Byrne (47) and Paul Ekollo (78) moved them into a 3-1 lead.
However, the Navy staged a remarkable recovery with dos Santos scoring in the 90th minute and again in injury time to make it 3-3.
At PAT stadium, Thai Port FC thrashed the already relegated Army side 5-0. Joining the Port's goal festival were Yai Nilawong (6, 87), Sarayoot Chaikamdee (15, 61) and Ekachai Sumre (84) .
Also doomed to relegation are Bangkok United after losing at 2-1 at home to TOT CAT.
Joseph Tyler scored a brace for TOT in the 33rd and 75th minutes before Bangkok United earned a consolation goal from Maxim in the 86th.
At Nong Prue, hosts Pattaya United defeated BEC Tero Sasana 3-1. On target for Pattaya were Anucha Kitpongsri (17), Ludovick Takam (58, 63) while Douglas Kobo replied for BEC Tero in the 91st minute.
At Thammasat stadium, Police United lost 2-1 to Osotspa M-150. Maricio da Silva gave Osotspa the lead in the 14th minute before Charkrit Buathong equalised just before half time.
Osotspa clinched the winner through Victor Menza in the 69th minute.

Not necessarily, I heard the the 2 extra places will just go to the highest bidders... joke I can't find the article in question you mentioned Vinnie, but seriously WTF... How are teams supposed to know what the hell to aim for if the goalposts are moved 1 week before or even after the season has finished. Rayong fans went crazy and celebrated like they had just stayed up yesterday with a full fireworks display and everything, but they are not yet safe if it's 3 down 3 up, unless they know something we don't.

I heard last week the proposal is 2 down and 4 up, but these talks about expanding the TPL started before the season started. They should keep it like it is, because it`s crazy to change it when the season has ended. If they want an expanded TPL they should change it from the 2012-season, with everyone knowing about it before they start in 2011. Or just change it now with only 1 team going down, so Bangok United can stay up.

Maybe the bigwigs at the TPL thought, as I did, that if PEA win on Weds, and MTU get their point on Fri, then this Sunday is a bit of a yawnfest.
'I know, let's only relegate 2 teams, and give some spice to the final round.' :0

BGB, the article is difficult to find, but here is direct link. http://www.siamsport.co.th/Sport_Football/101016_208.htmlAlso of interest is the payrise for the referees, who will now receive 5000 baht per match. Encouragingly, there is mention of future plans for having professional referees in the TPL.

Well I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens Good news about the refs though, it's about time the ones we have got are recognised for the job they do and not the slagging they get from managers/players/fans after every game.

Eh, what %$%!!! We have struggled to get a 30 game season into the calendar. Never mind another 4 weeks, added with another cup competition no doubt. The domestic game is growing way to fast.

I can't imagine that this plan was made without making sure the right people are "happy" with it :-) You don't need AFC approval to expand a league. So what seemed like you confirming it turns out to just your own opinion. There is of course an AFC criteria about which means league have to play a certain amount of games, at the moment its set to 27 which hardly any of West Asia make, so for TPL to go even further at this moment seeems daft and potientally risky, they could practically be operating two divisions in the same league. At this moment, to make the TPL more competitive, they should really be looking to reduce the numbers but play more games. Not expand to the provinces that aren't ready.

@ dru I think thats exactly the point and the resaon why they are waiting for the assesment result. If TPL pass it, it means they are ready (in their opinion), and go on to expand the league. If they fail, it would mean they are (the TPL) is not ready yet, and did not make their homework. In some point thats an argument which sounds logic to me, if you follow Vijits quotes.

No Loko, if they don't pass it, then they need to expand. If they do pass, then why the need? It's not like we will suddenly have 5 or 6 championship challengers is it. We will have more relegation fodder and more teams like the Army that just bounce around at the bottom.

Not sure whether it's gone up from last season, but as a rough guide, here is 2009's prize money. (figures in THB) Charade, US$1 is currently about 30 baht. TPL 1st - 10,000,000 2nd - 2,000,000 3rd - 1,500,000 4th - 800,000 5th - 700,000 6th - 600,000 7th - 500,000 8th - 400,000
Division 1 1st - 700,000 2nd - 300,000 3rd - 200,000 4th - 100,000 5th - 50,000 6th - 30,000 7th - 20,000

Just 2000000 ฿ for the runners up . Unfairly !

Yes it will be eighteen teams next season.
no matter what? I mean 18, regardless the AFC assesment? considering the immediate effect... what are the promotion/relegation rules? I hope it will be 4 go up and 2 go down. Also it means Division 1 need another 2 teams from the Div 2 Champions league play off, top 3 from both groups? I hope it will be three up and three down. Moving the goalposts at this stage is completely ridiculous. If they want to increase the number of clubs in the TPL, then they should announce it at the START of the season. And stick to it.

We might see Newin buy Buriram reserves and Buriram U19's a place in the 2011 TPL.

Relegation race over (barring league expansion) Si Saket, Army and Bangkok Utd will be playing Division 1 next season.
PEA keep the pressure on MTU to get that last point.
