Hi everyone! Does anyone know how many matches from the Thailand Premier League are shown on TV? Are all matches shown or just the big teams/matches? Are they shown live or taped? Which channels? Any info would be much appreciated

Based what I can gather from posting on Thai Language side, TV coverage is minimal. It is something fans are praying for.
The best person to provide the answers is, I believe, SriRachaShark as his team has been on the tube regularly both domestic and abroad matches.
I, too, would like to learn more about this.
Cheers!

True Sport do show live matches on Saturdays and occasionally mid-week. However, they aren't always advertised so it's usually a case of tuning in on the day (KO 4:00pm/ 5:00pm or 6:00pm!!). I always refer to the Siam Gila website, as they seem to be the best source of information. They print the fixtures and also the TV listings. You'll need to keep checking back as sometimes they don't post the information until very late. Having said all this.....can you read Thai? If not, you'll need someone to help you!! www.siamsport.co.thAll Choburi's home matches are broadcast live on Siam Gila TV. We KO at 6:00pm on Saturdays. You can watch on cable, if you have it, or here : www.siamtv.orgOr, if you're in Thailand, you could always go along and watch the matches live

Sounds like finding a game on the tube itself is quite an exciting adventure. Fans could reach climax before reaching the actual action (game).

Thank you for the web links and replies. I think TV coverage will help the league build more interest and hopefully greater popularity. FAT should try pushing for it, greater TV coverage will also attract more private sponsorship to teams and stadiums! I would love to see Thailand Premier League reach higher standards

Quality of the football; lack of awareness of the league; pervading influence of foreign leagues; Thai people often only interested in successful teams; Thailand doesn't have a culture of people going to watch live football matches etc etc etc...Anyone got any more to add?

siamtv.org, doesnt always work me. So myp2p.com, is a good adress. But only if somebody is streaming the game. If I do know that there will be a game, shown on true, I will report in the forum there, than maybe they will add to their list. This is how I do follow the league over here. Of course, if Iam in Thailand I will watch on local TV.

This weeks results:
Round 17
Customs Department 3 - 2 Port Authority Chula-Sinthana 0 - 0 Chonburi FC TOT 2 - 1 Bangkok Bank BEC Tero Sasana 3 - 0 Bangkok University PEA 1 - 0 Samut Songkhram Osotspa M-150 1 - 0 Tobacco Monopoly Nakhon Pathom 1- 0 Royal Thai Army Coke Bangpra 1 - 0 Krung Thai Bank
Well, at least Chonburi stopped the home wins trend.
Was the plastic pitch a factor in a game most expected to win?

Our two players are back from the "Dark Side". The contracts with M*n C*ty have been cancelled and their loan spells in Europe have finished. Suree is back in training and Car is due an operation on his leg. I'm glad that they are back Now they can actually concentrate on playing football. http://www.siamsport.co.th/25510729-065.html

An update from today's BKK Post.
FAT to help trio TOR CHITTINAND
The Thai football boss will help the three Thai players on Manchester City's books to play in Thailand while still remaining under contract to City. It has been reported that Man City want to terminate the contracts with Suree Sukha, Kiatprawut Saiwaew and Teerasil Dangda.
Worawi Makudi, president of the Football Association of Thailand (FAT), said yesterday he had discussed the matter with City executives who told him they did not want to terminate their contracts but wanted them to play for any club in Thailand.
''They said when the three players were on loan to clubs in Switzerland and Belgium, they failed to impress,'' Worawi said.
''At the moment they cannot play in England because they are not qualified to get work permit. So City want them to play for clubs in Thailand particularly their former clubs here.''
Suree is training with Thai league champions Chonburi FC, while Kiatprawut is injured. Teerasil played for Division One side Muang Thong-Nong Chok before signing with Man City.
''City executives want me to help bring the three players back to Thailand so they will get a chance to play football. This will be the best way for all concerned parties.''
He said Chonburi and Muang Thong-Nong Chok had to decide whether they wanted the players.

Thanks SriRachaShark for sharing this news. Quite sad though, being 'thrown' out of the team and now the clubs deciding whether to have these players who we thought could have gone further. But I'm sure the experiences and exposure they gained will benefit them and hopefully into Thai football.

Vinnie, you may right, regarding game experiance. But I am sure they had learned a lot in Training. Cause I think Training methods are different everywhere. And you can learn at least from that.

Still, we remain in second and BEC Tero got hammered 6-2 live on national tv What channel was the BEC game on? I saw all of the Chonburi match live on an NBT channel. Really good coverage, too. A half hour build up, highlights of the sides' previous matches, commentator and co-commentator in the commentary box, several camera positions. Far better than the coverage that the national side gets. I was pleasantly surprised. Have NBT been showing matches every weekend?

I'm hoping for a big improvement this week. I expect that we'll see one or two changes. I haven't heard whether or not Tana will be fit (it would have been a different outcome last week if he hadn't have gone off) and I'd like to see Phaisan start. As for advice......I've got a few things up my sleeve. I'll give hime the benefit of my experience over a few Changs after the match

There were definitely cameras there. I think that it might have been NBT ch19 on cable. PR wasn't there. He chose to go to BEC instead (more of this later).
I'll post a fuller report this evening but I'd just like to say that there was a big crowd; Chonburi took 8, very full, coaches and lots more fans travelled by private car and rail. The locals too turned out in force, which was really encouraging. This was just like a good old fashioned English match day experience. A large away following and a passionate home support created a great atmosphere.
