After a rumor of FAT planning to launch its Inaugural Women's Semi-Pro League in early November of this year, there have been intests amongst Thai Football Fans.

Here is what I know base on limited access to information

According to a reliable source, Thailand Women’s semi-professional league which tentatively set to launch its inaugural season in early November is in a limbo due to disorganized practice.

The ladies from senior to youth levels are scheduled to participate in;
1.   Asean Championship in Vietnam in early October
2.   Asean U19 Championship in Malaysia in late October
3.   Asian U16 Championship in Vietnam in early November
4.   Regional Youth Football in Thailand in late November
5.   Final round of National Youth Football in Mid of December
6.   Final round of University Football in early January and
7.   Another country-wide tournament in February

My question to people who run Thailand Football Association of Thailand is ‘what do they do during the months of March – September as students are no longer help their families growing rice?’

To condense the activities into a very short period of time is grossly counter productive in my opinion
It is prone to hurt rather than help the development of Women Football in the country. Concern has been raised by those whose interest is concentrate at the youth academic development.

So, whether or not the proposed Thailand Women’s Semi-Pro League will get to take shape is anybody guess at the moment as club managers are still waiting for the arrival of its schedules, according to the source.

In order to develop players, I think there should be activities in between those months.

Where I am this is how things are done.
1. January - April = Futsal season (usually only those who are serious about football are participating)
2. April - June = Spring outdoor Football season (this is a normal football season)
3. June-August = Summer Football season (usually only those who are serious about football are participating)
4. September- November = Fall outdoor Football season (this is a normal football season)

As you can see there are two regular seasons in a year(Spring & Fall) not counting futsal and usually 7-Aside Summer Football
Several groups are also participate in International Tournament around the world during July and August.

For me it would make sense if the season ran parallel to the men's season - like the Futsal League. That way they could bring all the dates into line and avoid any conflict.

That would be an ideal approach. But seeing below events,  it doesn't look as though the program is a well thought out one.

1.   Asean Championship in Vietnam in early October
2.   Asean U19 Championship in Malaysia in late October
3.   Asian U16 Championship in Vietnam in early November
4.   Regional Youth Football in Thailand in late November

Then there is another emerging force in the region......

Upon returning from Asean Women Footbal Championship in Vietnam, there is Westfield W-League a newly formed top notch for female footballers in Australia, the equivalent of A-league on the men side, will open its inaugural season on October for the Matildas.

According to Australian Football Federation website, there are more than 100,000 registered famale footballers around the country not counting those who play at reacreation here and there.

Thanks SriRachaShark for trying keeping this new born child alive. The fact that Mrs. went alone indicates this is one dedicated family!

I am a bit disappointed at the league's PR as I saw just one photo that of players in action that came out of Srisaket.

I have posted numerous photos on the thai language side of the board hinting things that would draw interest from players and fans alike.

Photo and example of techniques of women's football such these.....

Yes, the league doesn't get much coverage. Which is a shame. There were about 50 Chonburi fans at todays game. I would have gone myself but I had some work to do.

At least our family had some representation there Smiley

Shark have you any idea how they are organized? Are they own clubs or simply divsions of a club, means they are integrated e.g. in Suphanburi FC, SiSaket FC and so onn as we do know from the Man's Leagues?

I've just had a quick look around and it seems that Sisaket are the best organised club at advertising and promoting their team. Here are their fixtures.

Home
16 Nov     North Chiang Mai

30 Nov     Nakorn Sawan

25 Jan     Racha Prakorn University

8 Feb       North BKK

22 Feb      Air Force

8 Mar     Ayuthya

All at Sri Nakorn Lam Duan Stadium, Sisaket KO 4:00pm

Away

9 Nov     Rattanabundit

23 Nov    BKK Thonburi

4 Jan      Chonburi

1 Feb      Arng Tong

15 Feb     Bundit Asia University

1 March    Suphanburi

Sisaket seem to be attached to the men's team. A lot of the others would appear to be university teams (inc Chonburi) or forces teams.

I'll see what else I can find out.

It's the Polsaksar University ground. It has previously been used as a home stadium by Port Authority and PEA. As well as hosting some Chonburi friendly matches.

The league takes another short break now until the 25th January.

Chonburi's next match isn't until February 1st, away against Thai Airways. Their next home match will be on February 8th when the visitors are Ang Thong.

55... when I first saw pics, I thought this is neat without realizing that I had started the topic. I'm getting old!

I have not been able to follow the ladies' league as much as I had hope to be able to even identify teams.
Judging from the records and the composure of players, I taken that the team in yellow is Rattana Bundit. They seem to have body mechanics, techniques and steps of high level football(sorry if you are the team in blue Cheesy)

What is CAS stands for?

morientes, thanks for the pics.

The Lao women's football team was satisfied with their 3-2 loss to Thai side Lattana Bandits on September 7 in Champassak province.

“We are very happy with the score. Our players did their best against a team that is reigning SEA Games champions as well as holders of the Thai league title,” said Vice Chairman of the Lao Women's Football Committee, Ms Valy Vetsaphong

“After just two minutes they got away to a 1-0 lead, putting pressure on our team and the score increased to 2-0 in the first half. However, we really fought back well in the second half under the guidance of our coach from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea .”

The Lao team managed to draw level at 2-2 in the second half. “Unluckily, the Lattana Bandits scored in injury time to win 3-2.”

“They scored with just 35 seconds remaining in the match. However, the match shows our team has improved and there are still areas we can progress in,” Ms Valy said.

In other matches at the friendship tournament held from September 5-9 Laos beat Bangkok Thonburi 6-1 and Lattana Bandits defeated the Malaysian women's football team 13-0. In the second round of matches Malaysia defeated Bangkok Thonburi 4-0 while the Lattana Bandits beat Laos .

The Lao national team had lost to the Lattana Bandits 13-1 and 8-0 in their previous two meetings.

Lattana Bandits are Rattanabundit ?

Lattana Bandits are Rattanabundit ?

รัตนบัณฑิต or Rattana Bundit University is an educational institute
Bandits is the the term used to describe Rattana Bundit football club's conduct
in regarding Thailand Women's football development.

Indeed. http://www.bkkthon.ac.th/twpl/home.html
There is a Thai Women's Premier League and a Division 1. I'm happy to say that Korat are represented in both divisions and I'll add fixtures, results and tables to my site soon.

Thanks Vinnie nice to see this.

As far as I know in the TPL the senior Lady's will play while the younger ones will play in Div 1. Means the clubs which are enter with two teams are sperated their squads by this.

But did you saw the different logos? There is the logo on the website and the one on the pic slide show hanging on the wall. Seems they are the same but are looking different.

And thise 900.000 Baht cheque, is this the prize money?
