I've been hitting a few of you up over the season for directions to various grounds. One consequence of being a 'Jao Choo' fan, and not yet settling on one particular club, I guess.
I know there's already a stadium thread, but I thought I'd begin one with directions, (mostly using public transport) to various grounds I've visited. Most of these are around Bangkok. Feel free to add your own tips and corrections.

Club: Rose Asia
Ground: Khlong 6 (also has a Chalermprakiart type name related to Queen Sirikit)
Visited: May 2009

Directions: BTS to Morchit, or MRT to Jatujak, then bus 188 to Rajamongkol Uni (17bt). This goes to Future Park Rangsit, then along Highway 305 towards Nakon Nayok. You'll need to tell the conductor you're going to Khlong 6. When you get off, there are motorbike taxis to run the last couple of km to the ground, or it's a 10-15 min walk. Afterwards, get back to Hwy 305, and there is a bus stop opposite, near the pedestrian bridge.

There also minivans running from Future Park (look/ask for Klong 6 sign in the window, 20Bt).

I actually went to see Bangkok Glass play here in 2009, but I don't think this is LEO stadium. (BGB please advise/correct)

Club: Chula Utd
Ground: Chulalongkorn University
Last visited: Aug 2010

Directions: BTS to Siam or National Stadium. Walk 15-20 minutes down Phya Thai Road, past MBK and Patumwan Princess Hotel, eventually entering Chula Uni on your right. Walk straight through the Uni and you'll hit the stadium.
Alternatively, MRT to Samyan and walk up Phya Thai in the opposite direction. Enter the Uni on the left side of the street.

Other option:
Bus or Skytrain to National Stadium Station, walk down Rama I Rd past MBK on your left and walk towards the Thepsadin Stadium next to MBK. Turn left and walk between the Thepsadin and Supalachasalai (the bigger stadium, next to the running track and outdoor gym), through the gates at the back and keep walking past the flats on your left.
You will see the stadium on your left, opposite a market/shopping centre. (As per the_englishman's post below)

Club: Thai Port
Ground: PAT Stadium, Suntornkosa Rd, Klong Toey, BKK
Last Visited: Oct 2010

Directions: MRT Queen Sirikit Station, leave via exit 1. Walk along Rachadapisek Rd, away from Asok, towards to Rama IV intersection. Carry on through the intersection, to the next set of traffic lights. Turn left (Suntornkosa Rd). The stadium is about 500m along, on the right hand side. It's not immediately visible from the street, but is just past the footbridge. If you miss the entrance, you should see the training pitch and bright orange club shop on your right.

Alternatives:
*MRT to Queen Sirikit Station, use exit 1 (Klong Toey Market). There are lots of motorcycle taxis waiting outside that exit if you don't fancy the 10 mins walk to the stadium.

*Buses 45, 46, 115, 116, 507 (among others) run along Rama IV from Sukumvit Rd (near Phra Khanong BTS). If you get off at Klong Toey Market, turn left at Rachadapisek and go to the next lights as above.

That's right... although we did call it the Leo Stadium while we used it.
The proper Leo Stadium is between Klong 3 & 4 on the main highway 305. It can be seen from the road easily if you were following the directions you stated using the same methods of transport.

Now I want to ask if anyone knows the directions to Customs @ Ladkrabang 54. I'm going this weekend for hopefully Chiang Rai Utd's promotion. I know the area it's in roughly, but don't have the faintest on how to get there or the exact location of the stadium.

Club: Suvannabhumi Customs FC
Ground: Lat Krabang (soi) 54, Samut Prakan
Last visited: Nov 2010

Directions: BTS On Nut. Walk back along Sukumvit Rd to On Nut Rd (Sukumvit Soi 77). Catch bus 1013. This takes a detour at Sri Nakarin Rd,  does a U-turn and returns to On Nut Rd. After Sri Nakarin, the bus follows On Nut Rd until it becomes Lat Krabang Rd. It eventually passes Soi 54 (right hand side), just after crossing a bridge, then passing a hospital on the left. Catch a motorbike (15 bt) or a songthaew (7 bt) down 54. From the Soi entrance, it's about 4km to the ground, which is in front of a temple.. There is an ornate arch leading to the temple, just to left of the stadium.

Coming home, there is a bus stop directly opposite the ground, where you can catch a songthaew to get you back to Lat Krabang Rd. Once there, walk a little way back towards On Nut, past the footbridge in front of 7/11, to the bus stop by the large (and busy) pedestrian crossing, opposite a market). The 1013 bus won't stop at the crossing, but about 20m back towards Soi 54.

Alternatives: There is also a 1013 van that runs along On Nut-Lat Krabang. I believe it orignates at Seacon Square on Sri Nakarin Rd and goes to the Technical College where Thai Honda play. You'll need to get off when the van turns left off Lat Krabang, under the last bridge before Soi 54, and then walk the rest of the way (from about Soi 50).

Club: Bangkok FC
Ground: Bang Mod
Last Visited: October 2010

Directions: BTS Wongwian Yai. Walk along Krung Thonburi Rd, away from river (same direction as train) to intersection with Somdet Phra Chao Taksin Rd. Turn left onto Somdet Phra Chao Taksin, and walk to the next footbridge. Catch the 21ก (or 21) bus. It will run to the end of the road, turn left on to Suk Sawat Rd, then just past Tesco (on your left) it will turn right onto Pracha U-Thit Rd. Get off at King Mongkut University of Technology Thonburi and keep walking in the same direction, then turn right at the lights. The stadium is about 200m on the left.
Alternatively, stay on the bus through the lights, (it will turn left), and walk back across the intersection to the stadium.

Option 2: Hualamphong Station or BTS Saphan Taksin. Catch bus 75 along Charoen Krung Rd. It will eventually cross the Rama 3 Bridge and join Somdej Phra Chao Taksin Rd and follow the same route as above. HOWEVER, don't get off at the university, as this bus turns right at the next lights, and the next stop is opposite the stadium

Option 3: From the Bang Na end of Sukumvit, catch a bus to Klong Toey (45,46, 116, 180). Change to a 195 going down Rama 3 Road. It will cross over the river, and head along Suk Sawt Rd, and go past Pracha Uthit Rd (soi 50). Get off and catch a songthaew, or bus (75 or 21) down Pracha Uthit as per above.
NOTE: I couldn't find a 195 to take me home, so had to use Option 2 on my return journey.

Club: Air Force United
Ground: Tupatemi (Dhupatemi) Stadium, cnr Paholyothin & Lam Lukka Rds, Bkk
Last Visited: Aug 2010

Directions: BTS Mor Chit/MRT Jatujak. Catch a bus (34,39, 356; air-con 39, 114,503, 522)  that goes up Paholyothin Rd. Get off just before Paholyothin Rd and Vipawadee-Rangsit merge (National Memorial). (Look for signs that tell you to turn right for Lum Lukka). It's on the right, on the corner of Lum Lukka Rd.

If you go up Vipawadee-Rangsit, it's only a few hundred metres back from the Memorial/ Paholyothin Rd junction.

MUANGTHONG UNITED, see here:

I'll hold back on RAJPRACHA-NONTHABURI until I know where they will play next season. If anyone wants information on NONTHABURI FC let me know.

Good stuff Wolfman. Similar to yourself I'm always looking for directions to new grounds in and around the Bangkok area. I'm a bit lazy to use public transport so I go to games by taxi. I know it costs more than public transport but it's far more convenient.
Getting roughly to the grounds is relatively easy. It's when you have to go down sub sois is when it gets tricky especially when you can speak limited Thai to ask directions.

It's not the same stadium. You can see the Thai Honda stadium from the BKK-Chonburi motorway. It's just past Suvarnabhumi Airport if your coming from BKK. You've probably passed by it 100 times on your travels from Bangkok to Pattaya. It's in the King Mongkod Techonolgy Colledge campus.
However it's complicated to explain how to get there from the motorway. It looks close but I remember the taxi taking me on a massive detour to get there. Hopefully you'll have better luck.

Yes I've seen it from the motorway- looks a nice stadium. Thanks very much for the help. GPS will do the rest hopefully.

Quick answers:
Svein66 - have just downloaded Google Earth to find it for you. Wink Coordinates are 13deg 42'21.41" N, 100deg 47'02.85"E I can't see any training pitches near it, and the stands are small but there. On google Earth Lat Krabang 54 appears to change its name to Wat Sriwaree Noi as you head away from Lat Krabang Road, and Wat Hua Khu which is next to ground is labelled.

Glenn - No. I've never been to Thai Honda, but they usually play at the King Monkod Institute of Technology University (KMITL). According to the Thai instructions I've since lost, I think you catch the same VAN (1013), but get off at the college gates. I think the instructions recommended catching a motorbike into the College to the stadium.

Does Google Maps provide the same data as Google Earth? If so, you/we could just provide map links.

I tried used Google Maps to find how to get to Bang Mod. However, when I asked for public transport options, it had me changing buses 2 or 3 times and got confusing. (No BTS/MRT for Google Maps). In the end, I went to the King Mongkut Uni website to see which buses passed there (and from where), the used Google Maps again starting from the BTS.

I usually first try the club websites to get a stadium map. Some have decent directions, some don't. Also, the Thai directions are sometimes more comprehensive than the English. Often their webboards have fans getting/giving directions to away games too, but this is in Thai.

At the same minivan rank at the BTS, there are also vans running to Thammasat (Rangsit). On my last journey to Yamaha Stadium, I asked the Thammasat drivers if they went to the uni on weekends. They said they do, so this may be a way to get there.

I think I must be going slightly mad.... I could have sworn I already replied to this post, but I can't find it. I Must have dreamt it or written it but forget to press 'post' or something equally as stupid.

Anyways.... Thanks Wolfie, that helps a lot, I just hope CRUTD make it worth all the hassle of getting there from Pathum Thani on Saturday.

Wolfie, perhaps it might be best not to label the Thunderdome with TOT and Rajpracha because after this weekend, they may well not use it any more.
Just a thought.

Club: North Bangkok College / Bangkok Utd
Ground: Bangkok University (Rangsit campus)
Last Visited: September 2010

Directions: This ground is located inside the Bangkok University campus. If you are traveling north from Future Park Rangsit, the university is approx 5km on the left hand side of the main road. It is well signposted so finding the uni shouldn't be difficult. (Wolfman, could you add some bus numbers please. I'm clueless when it comes to this)
Once you arrive at the university, you'll have to pass through the security gate. There is a free shuttle bus inside the campus that will take you to the pitch. However, the timing of the bus is erratic so you may have to walk through the campus to reach the ground. You bascally walk in a straight line past the various faculties and you will see it. The walk should take roughly 10 mins unless you are accompanied by a Thai female. In that case allow yourself 3 hours.

Nos:29, 34, 39, 59, 95ก. Plus these air-con buses: 504, ปอ. 510, ปอ.520, ปอ. 29, ปอ. 39

It also says that you can catch minivans from Victory Monument - it appears anything headed towards Rangsit will do.

Going back from the stadium to the other side of the main road to get a bus or taxi, it will take you at last 20 minutes unless you run. I checked today.
In a taxi it will take you 30-40 minutes from Bangkok (city centre) to the stadium in weekends. More for a midweek game due to more traffic. It will cost you 350 to 450 baht one way, including the fee at the tollroad.

When I went there to watch North Bangkok College there was no one selling bottles of water or coke. You had to get a plastic cup of water from the water machine near the changing rooms.
Is it different for BKK Utd games?

I went to Yamaha on Saturday to see Rajpracha play. The experience was completely different from an MTU game. Different point of sale for tickets, only 1 stand used, no minivan waiting for me after the game.
Food and drink no problem though.

I guess the (expected) higher attendances at TPL matches affect the amount of organisation required.

Club: Royal Thai Army (Taharn Bok)
Ground: Sanaam Geela Gong Tup Bok (Royal Thai Army Stadium), Wipawadee-Rangsit Road (Vipawadhi-Rangsit)
Last Visited: Oct 2010

Directions: BTS to Victory Monument. Catch a bus (24, 69, 92) exiting the roundabout in a Eastward direction. The bus heads down Raja Withi Rd then turns left into Wipawadee-Rangsit Rd. The stadium is on the left, a few minutes past the Veterans' Hospital. It's about a 15-20 minute bus ride from Victory Monument in all.

Alternatives: Buses ปอ.35, 187 and 504 all pass the stadium from different destinations.

You can manage to do all that but you can't find your way round to the opposite side of the stadium to have a drink with two Chonburi fans. Wink

I was able to get to the opposite side of the stadium, (I had to buy a ticket), but your wife seemed like more pleasant company, so I hurried back. Wink
