I think that it's a good idea to have a thread for this league as it is a potential feeder league for the main Thai leagues. There are a handful of foreigners (mostly African) who start in this league looking for a game and end up playing for semi-professional sides. I have forgotten his name, but I think it was Ernest, who played for Pattaya's team and was caught playing for Bangkok Bravo a few years back. He was then asked to leave the league ....

Apparently there have been a few others who have graced the MBMG league which is now split into 2 divisions.

I remember a Thai striker called "Piyapong" that used to play in the league a couple of years ago. He turned professional and had to leave the league. I don't know if he made the grade in professional football.

Is this the old Bangkok Casual League? If so, I "graced" it for a couple of seasons 10-12 years ago.

It is certainly not as casual as 10 years ago. There are a lot of good athletes in division 1 and division 2 has a fair sprinkling of fairly decent players. There are very few beer bellies on show these days.

That's a bit of a shame. We used to have some pretty good games in that league. At the time there used to be another league for those who took themselves a little more seriously. The Casual League was for those of us who just wanted a bit of a run out and some competitive action. Happy days. Smiley
