Si Saket 2-4 PEA Si Saket will have to be the first TPL side (just the second all season) to win away at I-Mobile so I can collect from Greg Also, Bangkok Glass 2-2 Navy-Rayong (agg 2-2, Navy on away goals) Instead of a BG-Port rematch, Port fans get to take on the Navy ones (Although I did see this fixture at PAT Stadium earlier this season, with no trouble at all).

Then, I guess the big question is who gets the other AFC spot in 2012, once the 'club who stole football' do the double/treble?

Semis are: PEA v Osotspa Navy v Port
No dates/times up yet, but given the final is supposed to be the 21st (at last report), I imagine first legs will over the weekend, and 2nd legs midweek next week.

Yeah it's the worst run competition since.....the 2010 Thai FA Cup. If they continue with it next season, let's hope it's better organized.

I was at the TP v PEA game a couple of months ago and there was a large feeling of animosity directed towards Newin from sections of Klong Toey Army.

Osotspa 2-6 PEA
Some dodgy refereeing helping PEA beat 10 man Osotspa. I tuned in at 35 minutes, with M-150 up 2-1. Just before halftime, PEA were award a freekick. Despite the ref almost standing on top of the fouled Suchao, PEA were allowed to take a quick kick from another 4-5 metres up the pitch, and gained a corner. From the corner, Douglas scored from a free header. After halftime, there were 4 quick yellow cards for the home side. The first was questionable, for Phaitum, as he seemed to play through the ball. However, there was no doubt about his seocnd, and he received a red card. Osotspa's Mensah, then got an odd card. He slid through a PEA player, but the ref waved play on as M-150 cleared the ball from defence. PEA got the ball on halfway and kicked it out. The ref then went back & booked Mensah. It was bookable, but I couldn't understand the 'play on' decision. PEA's 3rd goal was a mile offside, and knocked the stuffing out of Osotspa. A couple of minutes later, it was 4-2 (a hint of offside about this, but replays weren't clear). The 5th was another free header from a corner, and the 6th was another that could have been offside.
I don't think a single PEA player was booked. They got away with a couple of off the ball hits which were missed by the officials, and Cleiton was chopped while going through on attack usually the tackle would result in a yellow).
They might as well start engraving the trophy now, based on today's officiating.

Get used to it. It's just going to get worse and worse. The TFA will do nothing. The only way to deal with it may be through a mass, multi-club fan protest but the Thais seem to have a "mai pen rai" reaction to it. That could change though.

It's interesting with the comments, because no doubt PEA are a good team, champions in 2008.
The offside decisions, FAT need to look at and maybe not give a stern warning to the linesman, but give more training to show they are trying to stomp it out. And then we have free headers that score goals, it's unfortuante that these goals are overlooked.
I'm sure that PEA doing well, will generate more interest in the league next year and maybe it will take another league championship or PEA to go back to normal, I'm sure a championship for Newin would make him happy and pull out.

I've only watched PEA play a handful of times this season, and until today, haven't felt the referees have overly favoured them. However, someone made the comment when they had the brawl with Army, that we'd see more as they know can get away with it, and they do seem to be getting away with cheap shots.
PEA have won 3 of the matches I've seen comfortably, but crucial debatable 'offside goals' have helped twice. (Today, and v BEC). Sure, the officials are making poor decisions against them, but they don't seem to be as influential on the result. As druryfire says, they do seem to be a good side, and they have plenty of decent players, but all the off-field rubbish is creating a rod for their own backs, and casting doubt on any success they do have.

I watched the 2nd half of Navy v Thai Port on FBS. Again there were a couple of dodgy penalty decisions that looked debatable. The first was a penalty awarded to Navy. It was given when Navy were 2-1 up. It looked like the TP defender made contact with the ball but the ref gave a pen. It happened so quickly and I'd give the ref the benefit of the doubt. The penalty was converted to make it 3-1. 5 mins later, Sarayoot was clean through and was taken out by the Navy keeper. It appeared to be about 1 yard into the box but the ref awarded a free kick just outside the box. I'd like to think the refereeing mistakes were down to incompetence rather than something else. .

I never really suspected or even considered anything until the PEA V MTU game. But during the game it became increasingly strange. When the referee blew his whistle at 90 minutes on the dot when the goalkeeper had just had his third rolling around session for over a minute less than twenty seconds before, that was when I became absolutely certain what had been going on. Seeing the goal for Buriram on video simply reinforced that. Tidbits of information I get fed from inside MTU have concreted it and built a large moat around the outside.

Whether we like it or not, they are are VERY good team on the pitch and here to stay (at least until Newin gets bored).

Seeing the goal for Buriram on video simply reinforced that. Tidbits of information I get fed from inside MTU have concreted it and built a large moat around the outside. For me it was the incident at Chonburi where a PEA player (an African - don't know his name) threw the ball in the ref's face in a fit of pique. I mean, that is a straight red card, with probable further sanctions to come, anywhere, in any league, in the world. What was strangest was the way the ref 'handled' the incident. Having just bounced the ball off the ref's forehead, the player, probably realising he had gone too far, withdrew from the scene. The ref sprinted after him and you thought "here comes the red card". Instead, once the ref caught up with him, he made some ridiculously theatrical over-the-top 'don't do that again' gestures and walked away from the player. The look on Ney Fabiano's face was one of utter disbelief. I had some doubts about the rumours until that incident. I mean, bad offside calls can be explained away as touch-and-go decisions that linesmen frequently get wrong in any league and at any level. But assualting a referee and not even getting booked...

There were certainly whispers about it during the early parts of the season. However, people now seem to be talking quite openly about it.
As others have said, they are a decent team but the murkier aspects of the club will always leave them open to suspicion.
Such a shame.

Tried to get into the Port match but without success. A number of Port fans were there, peering through the stand, and over fences. I tried to blag my way into the main stand, but they told me I needed a ticket, and pointed to a woman selling them behind me. She informed me that she was only selling to Rayong fans, and as a neutral I couldn't get one. I found out later there were only 200, so fair enough. The guards told me I could get in over the other side, so I went back, only to be sent back to where I'd started. This time, there were a few other neutral Thais also trying to get in. We were told again to try the other side, and when we got there the bloke we'd talked behind the main stand was already there, and things looked good for a few moments. Then he disappeared, and we were back to square one. I eventually gave up at kickoff.
The strangest thing was they kept telling the Thais I'd met they could get in if they had tickets from Tero or Osotspa. We didn't understand until just before kickoff about 20 supporters in BEC Tero shirts bowled up with tickets and were allowed in. Odd, just odd.
The funniest bit was one of the Thai blokes with me, bitching about how it was poor form that a foreigner (me) was trying to get in and watch Thai football, but being mucked about, and sent from side to side twice. At one stage he wanted to see Dr. Vijit on my behalf. Brilliant.

Quick question, given all the security concerns around the FA Cup, how are they going to organise the League cup seating and ticket allocations in 4 days? Especially as it's the league's most peaceful fans from Klong Toey involved, at a match in which many feel the result is pre-ordained.

What is the ticket situation for the final? I assume the Thai Port fans will be allowed to attend. If so, does anybody know where I can buy tickets for the Thai Port section before Sunday?

I'd prefer to watch the singing and dancing hordes of PEA Buriram rather than be part of it. The constant aerobic routines would wear me out. I just hope that there is no trouble on the day and that the best team wins.

Quick question, given all the security concerns around the FA Cup, how are they going to organise the League cup seating and ticket allocations in 4 days? Especially as it's the league's most peaceful fans from Klong Toey involved, at a match in which many feel the result is pre-ordained.

Got tickets from the Thai Port club shop. Prices were 200 Baht for the Main Stand and 100 Baht for the rest of the stadium. PEA have the North Stand(nearest to the sky train) and Thai Port the South. I'm pretty sure they don't let you take beer into the stadium. That will mean a binge session before the game and during halftime.

Is it on TV?
Yes and rather than the more important FA Cup final next week it will be on channels you are able to watch from outside of Thailand.

Talking about live TV, I've just seen that the Thai Port manager is the pundit on True again tonight. I thought he'd be at home doing his last minute preparations for tomorrow's final. He must be confident of winning tomorrow

next time pm me Thanks. It was my own fault really. I knew about the ban, but completely forgot about it until I bowled up to the stadium.
