RE: Kawin - When's he off to Manchester? I 'd heard this was definitely happening.

He will not go. Neuer will become the new man at United. ...hopefully...

Want to put money on that, Loko? :-)

Depends on the definition. Whether he go just to get parked in Belgium or elsewhere (incl the reserver squad) or to be in the first teams squad as number 3 or number 5.

Surely Kawin would have to be 'parked'? Or is he half English now?

Being 'parked' for 3 years doesn't really mean to me anyway, that he is a player of another club.

Pattaya Utd 1-0 Chiang Rai Utd (agg 2-1)

Pattaya play Thai Honda in the next round.

According to thaileagueonline, the attendance at tonight's Bang Phra v Chiang Rai match was 999. If only someone could have persuaded one more friend to go along. Smiley

Being serious now - does anyone really care about this competition? . At least sudden death would make it a bit more interesting - you could have heard a pin drop at Pattaya last night. Maybe it will liven up at the semi final stage.

Bear in mind that a meeting between MTU and Buriram PEA looks likely next round, it may get exciting before the semis :-)

As per above, Samut Songkram v Thai Port was abandoned at halftime due to heavy rain. Match officials judged conditions were too dangerous to continue. The match will be replayed on October 28th, with the 2nd leg at PAT Stadium on October 31st.

Interesting point made by the commentator during the Port v Pla Tu game. He said that several of the overseas players were due to return home on Sunday so would miss the second leg. How will this impact teams a) for the league cup b) for the relegation play offs. At Pattaya we're used to playing with only one or two foreigners as ours were nearly all crippled but it will be interesting to see who fares best or more likely who is quickest to come to a deal with their overseas contingent.

Also from Saturday, Buriram-PEA 7-0 TOT (agg 7-0)

What happened here? TOT play there telesales staff?

I think this result shows what some teams really think of the cup, especially when the season has finished.

I'm just reading Tor Chittinand's's write up in the Bangkok Post - apparently the game was abandoned with 10 minutes to play, as TOT were reduced to 6 men. They'd had 2 red cards, and then 3 others went off injured.

Are you referring to this particular match, the Toyota League Cup or Thai football in general?

Going through the report on Thai League Online, here is a quick summary of the incidents in the match:
4 mins: 1-0 (Goal: Suriya Domtaisong)
45+2mins: 2-0 (Suriya again)
47 mins: 3-0 (Douglas Cardozo)
52 mins: Floodlight Failure at I-Mobile Stadium. 10 minute delay.
63 mins: Athit Daosawang (TOT) is sent off after receiving a second yellow card
69 mins: 4-0 (Suriya gets his hat-trick)
71 mins: Having already made 3 substitutions, TOT are reduced to 9 men when defender Kanchit Chonratanomreut goes off injured.
74 mins: 5-0 (Suchao Nootnoom hits the post, and the ball goes in off the keeper)
77 mins: 6-0 (Cardozo's second)
81 mins: TOT down to 8 men. Teerachai Ngamjaroen goes off injured.
89 mins: TOT substitute Atorn Sai-ngam receives a red card (for dissent I think). TOT now 7 men.
89 mins: 7-0 (own goal: Chusak Suwanna)
91 mins: Injury to Wichan Nantasri. TOT reduced to 6 men, and disqualified.

The TLO article doesn't specify that the game was called off 10  minutes early, just that the match didn't reach the 90 minute mark. Tor Chittinand wrote in the Bangkok Post that the match finished 10 minutes early. If this is the case, then I can only assume that TLO didn't stop their clock when the lights went out, and they would have had fulltime at 100 minutes.

If you want to see BG, try to get a ticket for the guest sector and just ask:
Kao dai mai hi? (เข้าได้ไหมฮิ)

Should be no problem then.

I got into Port's AFC Cup match behind 'locked doors' at Supa, back in March. I was asked for ID (they wanted a passport, but I only had a driver's licence). I explained in mixed Thai and English that I lived and worked here, didn't support either side, and just wanted to watch a game. They had a brief discussion, and finally allowed me in.

As per usual in Thailand, speaking politely & smiling a lot helps. If they're letting some folks in, it might work, especially if you're foreign. On the other hand, if they're taking a hard-line, you might be out of luck.

I was thinking of going to watch Thai Port v Bkk Utd on Sunday but I can't really be bothered now. As you know, rules and regulations in Thailand can be relaxed/imposed at the drop of a hat, so in order to save myself any hassle, I'll stay at home.

Also just noticed BG is a 1700 kick off. I wouldn't make it in time from work anyway.

Muang Thong 0-2 Si Saket (agg 0-3)

Si Saket cause a massive cupset, and my earlier bet looks good.
MTU lose at Thunderdome for the first time since Sri Racha knocked them off back when T-Rex was top of the food chain.

Will this mean fixture adjustment? The first leg v Buriram was listed as Sunday at I-Mobile, but the policy thus far has been lower-ranked sides play at home first.

I thought that might be the case, but I'd still expect a club like MTU to have a 2nd XI capable of defeating a relegated side like Si Saket.

I think the Final is scheduled for the weekend of 21-22 November, the week before the FA Cup.

To answer my own question, yes.
According to TLO, the 1st leg is now on Sunday at 1530 in Si Saket, and the 2nd on Wednesday at I-Mobile.

Also, Bangkok Glass' home match v Navy will now be played at Dhupatemi (home of Air Force Utd)

Yes, a 0-2 loss. A red card,a missed penalty a perfectly legal disallowed goal and a flurry of unknown players featured. Small report tomorrow. Probably.

Also, Bangkok Glass' home match v Navy will now be played at Dhupatemi (home of Air Force Utd)

Incidentally, this will be the 7th time we have played Navy in a competitive match this year.

Ridiculous.....

And talking of ridiculous, the decision to play at the Dhupatemi seems stupid as a lot of BG fans live closer to this stadium than the Leo. There is no way there will not be a big section of BG fans in plain clothes for this game. Again, I have to question the point in banning our fans for 3 games.

Which would mean for the first time this season, Buriram F.C and Buriram PEA will be playing on the same day. So which game is going to be moved? It's usually BFC's games that get bumped around so that he can watch both his teams but I can't see Chiang Mai (where he's not the most popular person in the world and where they are expecting a capacity crowd) acquiescing to any demands to change the date this late in the day.

Muang Thong 0-2 Si Saket (agg 0-3)

Will this mean fixture adjustment? The first leg v Buriram was listed as Sunday at I-Mobile, but the policy thus far has been lower-ranked sides play at home first.

To answer my own question, yes.
According to TLO, the 1st leg is now on Sunday at 1530 in Si Saket, and the 2nd on Wednesday at I-Mobile.

Perhaps he's decided to stay away from CM.

BGB, does the fan ban apply to superheroes and Rabbit Girls? I might be tempted to get to Dhupatemi if there's a reduced amount of competition on the RG front Wink

Unfortunately for you Mr. Wolf, it does Wink
Besides, BG are reluctant to take the RG anywhere where there might even be a hint of danger, hence why they have never been to Rayong or the PAT in the past.

BG have posted on the web board and urged all fans NOT to go for fear of any more punishments. They will show the game on the big screen at the LEO.

I wont be attending either the Dhupatemi or the Leo and I might stay away from the semis too if we make it. I just can't be bothered with all the crap surrounding BG/TP at the moment.

Surprise surprise!! The Sisaket v PEA game has been moved back 24 hours to Monday.

Also the 2nd leg has been postponed for 24 hours as well.
