It's not about "laughing last". MTU fans have the right to celebrate because we were the best team this season, this is our time. We were better than you and every other team.
That you feel the need to keep going on about what may happen in future and deny reality about this season cleanly reeks of envy. I can tell you one thing, if PEA win the league fairly next season (let's say no more than two clearly crooked officials) then I will not be posting non-stop childish messages on your websites, Facebook groups, etc.
And in case you didn't work it out, my ironic example was pointing out the terrible error in the logic of your argument. It had a purpose, it wasn't meant to boast.
BTW even if you win the league next season, you'd still need to win one more to equal us.

Nice work Loko. In terms of level of opposition, Chonburi have had a tougher run (I nearly posted they'd played all TPL teams, until I remembered TTM aren't Samut Sakhon anymore  ) The Datsakorn v Therdsak match-up in midfield will be intriguing too. |

However, of course, it wouldn't be natural if we didn't have a talking point....
Pibob should not have been on the pitch to score the winner. One of the most blatant red cards you're ever likely to see was not given.
Nevertheless, I take nothing away for Chonburi who deserved it.

It was an x-rated challenge. It could have broken Choeichiu's leg. I don't know why the ref only gave a yellow. Overall I thought it was quite a good game. The action was going from end to end. Either team could have won it towards the end. Anyway, congratulations Chonburi. They've deserved to win something for their effort this season. |

Great result and good for Thai Football not just Chonburi CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes it will be intersting to see how many home grown Thai,s are in both sides and just how many foriegners are in the starting line ups?. Naturally very pleased to have won yesterday. I felt we were the better side over the 120 minutes and thoroughly deserved it. Muang Thong looked tired, and obviously had one or two players playing with injuries, but this is the price you pay for success.
As for Pipob's challenge.....I said at the time that it was silly and reckless. It didn't look as bad in the stadium as it obviously did after countless (no doubt) replays on the tele. However, the referee had let one or two earlier rustic challenges go unpunished, which probably deserved yellow cards, so his decision was in keeping with his overall approach.
The whole day was very enjoyable and the authorities seemed to have things running smoothly enough. My only real complaints are the crush around the single entrance at Gate 16 a few minutes before kick off, which could, and should, have been avoided. And, was it really necessary for three armed policemen in full riot gear, including shields, to accompany two stewards onto the Chonburi terraces to confiscate someone's empty (empty!!) water bottle? Thankfully, the crowd's response was good natured rather than hostile.

Only 2 replays as far as I can remember, I don't know what the commentators said as my wife wasn't around to translate, but if it was slightly higher, he would have broken Pichipong's leg(s) for sure. It cannot in any way be defended. I thought the ref had a good game other than that. The ref saw it so no further punishment will be handed out, so it's done and dusted now anyway and Pibob seems like a decent fellow, I'm sure he feels bad and made the proper apologies. Anyway, I thoroughly agree that the best team over 120 mins deservedly won. |

Strangely enough that's how things normally work in Europe anyway. You turn up and support your team and if you go to a game where your team is not playing you're a neutral. This idea of "ganging up" comes off as very childish, especially when described as you just did. |

Yes. Outside the stadium at the south end, so I assume they were sitting at that end. Someone told me they saw a few Thai Port fans at the north end, though, and I saw some Muang Thong fans and TP fans sharing the same motorbike.

Chonburi triumph in hard-fought FA Cup final 
Full of energy over 90 minutes, the Chonburi captain capped off his inspirational performance when he poked the ball expertly past Muang Thong's stand-in goalkeeper Thanongsak Panpipat from close range in the 117th minute following a mistake from defender Jetsada Jitsawad who failed to clear a cross from the right.
Chonburi were awarded the winners' cheque of 1.5 million baht and a place in the AFC Cup next season.
Veteran midfielder Therdsak Chaiman, the oldest man on the field at 34, put Chonburi ahead in the 42nd minute. A neat pass from the right side of the area by Ekaphan Intasen found the surging Therdsak in front of the goal and the Chonburi playmaker slipped the ball past Thanongsak..
Datsakorn Thonglao pulled level for Muang Thong in the 64th minute. Kone Mohammed created a chance for the midfielder whose curling right-foot effort sneaked in at the left-hand post past Chonburi goalkeeper Sintaweechai Hatairatanakul.
To the surprise of nobody, the game started off lively in a battle between the champions and third-placed finishers of the 2010 Thai Premier League season concluded in October.
Chonburi were more dangerous from the outset with both Ekaphan and Pipob a constant threat up front. Muang Thong defenders clearly had a rough time coping with their speed and clever movement off the ball.
It took only two minutes for Ekaphan to creat an opening for himself but the shot was well saved by Thanongsak. Seven minutes later Chonburi centreback Chonlathit Jantakam tested the stand-in keeper again with a hopeful long range shot from the middle of the field.
Muang Thong's Belgian coach Rene Desayere was forced to make a quick change after only 25 minutes with the ineffective Ronnachai Rangsiyo replaced by Kone.
Teerasil Dangda nearly put Muang Thong ahead on the half hour mark but Purithat Jarikanont made a vital clearance.
With only three minutes left in the first half, Muang Thong defender Piyachart Thammapan lost the ball near the centre of the field to Pipob who slipped a lovely pass to Ekaphan on the right.
The speedy winger outpaced Muang Thong defenders before crossing to Therdsak to complete the move and give Chonburi the lead they deserved.
The start of the second half was a cagey affair although both teams had scoring chances.
Muang Thong were desperate for an equaliser and gradually pressed more and more up the field.
The league champions finally broke through on 64 minutes. Chonburi defence failed to cope with Kone who laid the ball neatly to Datsakorn who curled his shot beautifully past Sintaweechai at the left-hand post.
Teerasil had a great chance to settle the matter for Maung Thong three minutes into extra-time but his shot was well saved by Sintaweechai.
Chonburi were without their first-choice rightback Suree Sukha who was suspended and centreback Kiatprawut Saiwaew through injury while Muang Thong also missed several key players such as goalkeeper Kawin Thamsatjanan, who suffered a broken finger during the Asian Games in Guangzhou, China, and Ivory Coast winger Christian Kouakou, who was also suspended. |

Fantastic final - we were at the Chonburi end and enjoyed the game immensely - Chonburi fully deserved the win - the atmosphere was excellent and as usual Chonburi fans were most welcome of the support from down the coast. Thai Port had a huge following supporting the sharks too. It seemed to me like the Thai Prem at one end v Muang Thong at the other. Great day and the best team won.

IN THAI FA CUP FINAL [font=VNI-TimesBANGKOK (8 Jan 2012) – Newly-crowned Thai Premier League (TPL) champions Buriram PEA will take on Muang Thong United in the final of the FA Cup which has been scheduled for 10 January.
Buriram, who are in the chase for the treble this season, made the final of the FA Cup this year after beating Army United 2-0 at the Rajamangala National Stadium with goals off Suchao Natnum’s penalty in the fifth minute and Frank Acheampong (22nd minute).
Buriram are also in the final of the League Cup where they will play Thai Port FC in next month.
Muang Thong United on the other hand beat Songkhla FC on penalties after a 2-2 draw in the other semi-final tie. In the match that was played at the Thephatsadin Stadium, hosts Songkhla grabbed the lead after just two minutes off Malek Yawatab before Robbie Fowler equalized for the visitors after 15 minutes.
In the second half, Diyara Ali put Muang Thong ahead only for Boubah Kwadwo to score an equaliser. Both teams failed to score in extra time and Muang Thong emerged victorious 6-5 in the shoot-out.[/font]
