Well , Adam . You also pay attention to what other teams are preparing for ASEAN Suzuki Cup .  Smiley
Duric scored 3 goals and the last made by Shi Jiayi for Singapore . They coordinated in perfect teamwork .
Below them , the defender Daniel Bennett and goalkeeper Hassan Sunny are still steady .
On the whole , they all stand together and it's difficult to find a way straight to their net !
Regarding Vietnam , we are in the process of the so-called " declining after the triump " . We will definetely lost Lê Công Vinh ( the striker equalized in final match ) and his attacking partner Nguyễn Việt Thắng . Both were injured . Some new players are also added but not remarkable .
I wonder whether FAT or any other fan here really know what Thailand's opponent are doing , or just focus on their clubs !

singapore will always be a threat if they are in the right frame of mind but its an aging team. duric is 40 and bloody fit. he's also good on the ground.

other players to watch out for are Khairul Amri and some more...

NEW KIT FOR NEW AFF SUZUKI CUP CHALLENGE
Quote
MANILA (21 Nov 2010) – With the AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 just round the corner, several teams will be donning new colours to carry their challenge for the biggest regional football championship.

The AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 will be held in two cities of Jakarta in Indonesia and also in Hanoi in Vietnam starting early next month.

Group A are Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Laos while Group B are Vietnam, Singapore, Myanmar and the Philippines.

The five Nike-sponsored teams of Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore had already launched new colours in the hope that it will provide them with the right impetus for a better performance on the pitch.

Vietnam has introduced red vertical pinstripes running down their white kit while Singapore is mostly red with blue and red round collar.

Thailand’s shirt is mostly yellow with blue and red lines across the chest while the Malaysians adjusted their usual yellow and black vertical stripes, with a round collar.

While Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia have basically made just slight adjustments to existing design and colour scheme, the most eye-catching kit yet would be that of Indonesia.

The home shirt is still red in colour although they have used the Indonesian national crest of the ‘garuda’ as a watermark at the front of the jersey.

The Philippines have also redesigned their white kit under Mizuno with red and blue lines across the chest while Myanmar, which is sponsored by Diadora, is still red with a blue border.

Laos will be using the same colours as they had done previously at the SEA Games last year with mostly red jersey and lines of white.

Anyone has the picture of Thai kit ?

Is this the list from the official site? I assume yes. And than it is an old one.

One big indicator, Peter Laeng is definately not nominated.

My understanding with these different lists is that AFF wanted an initally 30 man squad list that was to be cut (deadline this Saturday) to 22. I guess there is still time for someone to visit Robbo in the night and spook him into selecting Anon.

So that we have a better understanding of AFF (Suzuki) Cup concerning club and players.

AFF (Suzuki) Cup is not a football tournament on FIFA's Calendar.
Therefore, clubs are not obligated to release their players to NT.

Above fact was confirmed to thailandsusu discussion board by a respectable :Smiley FAT's official.

Anon Sangsanoi (BEC Tero Sasana/MTU/PEA/insert club here)

You could do the same for Leesaw (BEC Tero Sasana/MTU/Lierse)! He is a loanee on loan, is he not? He's still technically a Lierse player, isn't he?

I was going to say I thought that the move to MTU had been made permanent, but he's still on loan according to Lierse's website.

Loaned:
- Lee Winothai (Muang Thong United tot 15 oktober 2010)

Not sure what 'tot' means. Ending? If so, what's going on now?

Vinnie, I actually have reasons to believe that the said official is here on a regular basis.
It's just that he has never declared himself.

He was the person who presented documentation on behalf of FAT to AFC in an attempt
to have Thai clubs admitted to ACL competition.

This also mean that I believe what written here are read by certain people from FAT.
How each subject and piece of info is perceived, processed and dispatched that I do not know.

Having seen the way Thailand prepare for their campaign , I can't help worrying . Today they play FA final match and face Laos 3 days later ( On the other hand , Myanmar and Singapore came here ) . Too little time to practising together or it's unnecessary because they are deep understanding of themselves ?
Why FAT didn't move this match after or before AFF Suzuki Cup ? A passive schedule !

Datsakorn Thonglao was compared to Paul Scholes  Grin

Robson includes Therdsak, Sarayoot in final Thailand squad

Three-time champions Thailand have named a near full-strength squad of 22 players for the upcoming AFF Suzuki Cup.

The Thais are in Group A and start their campaign with a match against Laos in Jakarta on December 1. They will also play hosts Indonesia and Malaysia.

The only notable absentee from the squad is first choice goalkeeper Kawin Thamsatchanan who broke his hand during training at the Asian Games in Guangzhou.

Sinthaweechai Hathairattanakool, who has plenty of international experience, will take over the goalkeeping duties with Sivaruk Tedsungnern as back-up.

Therdsak Chaiman, who was named Player of the Tournament the last time Thailand were crowned Asean champions in 2002, has been included in the squad despite not taking part in any of their warm-up games.

Thailand coach Bryan Robson, a former captain of England, believes that the veteran can still do a job for team as an impact player.

"I know everything that Therdsak can do so for me it was not necessary to play him in the friendlies," said Robson.

"I know there have been rumours about Therdsak retiring but those are not true. As far as I am concerned, a 36-year-old who loves football can play to a lot older than 36 as long as he keeps himself fit and Therdsak does that."

Winger Sutee Suksomkit has recovered from injury and midfield enforcer Surat Sukha will be released by Melbourne Victory if Thailand reach the knock-out stages.

Datsakorn Thonglao has played a lot of football in the last couple of months including five matches at the Asian Games where he was one of three over-age players in the Thai squad.

He has come through unscathed and Robson will deploy him in what he describes as the "Paul Scholes role", controlling play from deep positions.

"It is a bit like Paul Scholes at Manchester United – I want Datsakorn to get on the ball in front of the back four like Scholes does and start spreading the passes whether it is just bringing people into the game or hitting a 40-yard pass and splitting the defence, which he has the ability to do," said Robson.

"So that is why I want him on the ball a lot more."

Up front, Sarayoot Chaikamdee, nicknamed "Joe Five Yards" because of his poaching skills, has got the nod from Robson after scoring against Singapore and India in recent friendlies.

It is expected he will lead the line with either Teerasil Dangda, joint top-scorer with four goals at the last AFF Suzuki Cup in 2008 when Thailand lost in the final, or Teerathep Winothai.

Goalkeepers: Sinthaweechai Hathairattanakool (Chonburi FC) and Sivaruk Tedsungnern (Buriram PEA)

Defenders: Panupong Wongsa, Nataporn Phanrit (Muang Thong United), Chonlatit Jantakam, Suttinun Phukhom, Suree Sukha, Natthaphong Samana (Chonburi FC) and Teeratorn Boonmathan (Buriram PEA)

Midfielders: Suchao Nutnum, Rangsan Vivatchaichok (Buriram PEA), Datsakorn Thonglao, Naruepol Ar-romsawa, Phichitphong Cheuichieu (Muang Thong United), Wichaya Dechmitr, Sutee Suksomkit (Bangkok Glass FC), Therdsak Chaiman (Chonburi FC) and Surat Sukha (Melbourne Victory)

Strikers: Teerasil Dangda (Muang Thong United), Sarayoot Chaikamdee (Thai Port FC), Teerathep Winothai (BEC Tero) and Kirati Keawsombut (Buriram PEA)

Regarding Surat Sukha , has he already been in team yet ?

And we all know where Paul Scholes learned to play football, don't we? Wink

"Paul Aaron Scholes was born on 16 November 1974 in Salford. He has a younger sister, Joanne, and happily married parents. His father, Stewart, was, according to Mike Coffey, the former United scout who taught Scholes at Cardinal Langley High School and who persuaded him to join the club, 'a superb footballer who played locally in Middleton into his forties'.

The family lived on the large Langley estate and Scholes grew up watching football on the terraces at Oldham's Boundary Park. 'His hero was Frankie Bunn, the Oldham Athletic striker,' Coffey says. 'He is an Oldham nut and it wouldn't surprise me if at 36, or whenever he's finished at United, Paul plays for them.'

So Oldham's to blame for Schole's unique "tackling" style?

THAILAND COACH ROBSON TO EVALUATE FRESHNESS OF PLAYERS
Quote
JAKARTA (30 Nov 2010) – Thai coach Bryan Robson will have to very quickly evaluate the condition of his players this evening and decide on the team to face Laos, the qualifying competition champions, in their opening AFF Suzuki Cup match at the Gelora Bung Karno tomorrow.

Robson’s problem was that many of his players were involved in domestic competitions including the FA Cup and were unable to join the rest of their teammates to prepare for the region’s most prestigious football competition which begins tomorrow.

“We have not had much preparations as many of the players were playing in the FA Cup and league. This evening’s session will be our first with the whole team. Some players have come in with some knocks and injuries and we will have to see how they are today,” Robson said about the one-hour session the team will have at the Gelora Bung Karno this evening .

“I have to see evaluate the freshness of all the players. I’m also not too concerned as 16 of my players come from three teams, so they know each other well. We have also kept a similar team.”

On Laos, Robson said that he had seen them in action during the qualifying tournament.

“I saw them against Cambodia and they are a good side. In fact, all the teams here are strong and will not be easy for anyone.”

Laos are in Group A here alongside Thailand, Malaysia and host Indonesia.

Laos team manager Pasatxay Philaphandeth said that his team was cautious of Thailand and the others. “After the qualifying competitions, we had several more matches including some games in Singapore before arriving here. It will be tough but we will give it our best.”

From www.affsuzukicup.com
Thais look to shake off fatigue
JAKARTA: Fatigue and fitness are the key concerns for Thailand and Laos ahead of their AFF Suzuki Cup Group A opener at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium on Wednesday.

Thailand coach Bryan Robson has expressed worries about the freshness of his side, which only arrived in Indonesia on Monday after 12 players had been involved in the Thai FA Cup final a day earlier.

Meanwhile, his English compatriot, Laos coach David Booth is sweating on the health of some of his players who are feeling the effects of a case of food poisoning last week.

Thailand are favourites to win the tournament for a record fourth time but Robson has had little preparation with the team due to the late-finishing domestic season, which ended on Sunday when Chonburi beat Muang Thong United 2-1 in extra-time in the FA Cup final.

"Because the Thai Premier League just finished with the FA Cup on Sunday, I haven't really had any preparation time with the team at all. Today is the first training session that I have had with the players for the AFF Suzuki Cup," said Robson, who had little input into the 2010 league schedule.

While the former England international captain is confident that his players will adapt quickly to the tactics and formation of the national team, he is less sanguine about their fitness for the start of the month-long tournament.

"I'm not too concerned though about the team formation and the players getting to know each other because we have 17 players from three teams (Muang Thong, Chonburi and Buriram PEA) and they have been playing together on the national team for the past year.

"The main thing that concerns me is that I have a few injury problems and some of the players are quite tired after the end of the league season in Thailand.

"I've got about eight players that I need to assess after training today before deciding on my team. Both Natthaphong (Samana) and Datsakorn (Thonglao) had severe cramp after the FA Cup final so those are two players that I have to have a close look at."

Laos have lost their last eight games in the AFF Suzuki Cup group stage including a 6-0 hammering by the Thais in Phuket two years ago. But Robson does not consider the Indochinese side to be easy opponents.

"I saw Laos playing against Cambodia during the AFF Suzuki Cup qualifiers. They are not a weak team and we will not be underestimating them in any way," he said.

"We know that it will be a tough game. I don't think that there are any weak teams here and I believe that it will be really competitive."

Laos topped the qualifying tournament on home soil in October but Booth is well aware that his side will be playing at a completely different level in Jakarta.

"It will be a very difficult game for us but we've qualified and we knew what we were coming in to," said the 62-year-old Englishman.

"It will give us an idea of how our team is progressing. We feel that we've moved on a little bit in the last 12 months so it will be very interesting to see how we perform against Thailand. They are the number one team so there's no room for relaxation."

A number of the Laotian players were struck down by food poisoning after a warm-up match in Thailand last Wednesday with defender Kovanh Namthavixay and midfielder Phatthana Syvilay requiring drip feeds in hospital to recover.

Defender Saynakhonevieng Phommapanya also required hospital treatment for the same ailment two days later after lasting only 10 minutes of his side's 4-0 loss in Singapore.

Thailand 2-2 Laos

Well done Laos. A terrific result! They battled hard against a tired looking Thai team. But some of the blame has to lie with those people responsible for scheduling Thai domestic fixtures. More than half of the Thai team played 120 minutes in a major cup final on Sunday. Which came at the end of a long season. Clueless.

Obviously a bad result for Thailand, but a terrific result for the region in general.

Makudi would probably have sacked Robson by the time you read this, if he has realised that the game has even been played from his plush hotel in Switzerland.
