Khon Kaen sees new hope in VA

Quote
Kuala Lumpur: Football officials in the Khon Kaen province of Thailand believe that AFC’s Vision Asia programme will be a stepping stone to achieve professionalism.

Khon Kaen, together with Phuket, is set to join Chonburi as part of the Vision Thailand project.

Artit Chutchaipoirut, Vision Asia Project Khon Kaen Coordinator, feels that the VA Programme, started by AFC President Mohamed Bin Hammam, can help Khon Kaen football blossom and explore its enormous potential.

Khon Kaen, located in the Khorat Plateau, in the central-northwestern area of Isaan, is a regional center for education, financial institutions, government offices and transportation. The city of 120, 957 population is also an industrial center, especially for the region's silk trade, as well as an agricultural hub.

"The people of Khon Kaen and Khon Kaen Football Association have been dreaming of this kind of development programme for the last 20 years. Today, a 'big brother' has arrived and want to help us achieve our long awaited dream and bring us forward,” Artit told www.the-afc.com.

"Vision Asia programme will give us an opportunity to build and develop our football. With the help of this programme, we can groom our players and teams in a professional way. Everything starts from the foundation. A well organised foundation programme will help us in the long run. I see VA as a great chance for us to fulfill our dream."

What attracts Artit the most in VA is the look-for-the-future concept.

"With Vision Asia, we are talking about the team for tomorrow and not only for today. This programme is a springboard for us to produce more and more professional, better players than we currently have.

"We want to see a team for many years unlike before. We are building teams and experts for the future."

Artit also sees Vision Asia as a big help to build a "clean" society in Khon Kaen.

"The Vision Asia programme will not only help us to improve our football standard but also encourage fans to embrace better habits.

"A city of football is what we would like to see in the future.”

Thais stirred by Vision Asia’s potential
Quote

Kuala Lumpur: The potential success of Phuket and Khon Kaen as Vision Asia projects could attract more provinces to the AFC’s development programme.

Dr Kasom Chanawongse, the Vision Thailand manager for the Football Association of Thailand, said if Phuket and Khon Kaen can emulate the success of pilot project Chonburi, the programme could take off in the Kingdom.

“It is the (FAT) President Dato' Worawi Makudi who personally chose Chonburi (East), Phuket (South) and Khon Kaen (Northeast) to join the Vision Thailand programme,” Kasom told the-afc.com.

“Personally, I believe that the expansion of Vision Thailand depends very much on the success or failure of the existing pilot project cities (provinces), which also act as models and representatives of their respective regions

“Having said that, I foresee there will be more to come as I have total confidence in the Vision Thailand programme. Project Phuket and Khon Kaen will definitely earn their spurs. With the success of Chonburi, it should not be too difficult (for them) to attract sponsors, manpower and interests.”

Chonburi has proven to be a major success with the project stirring football interest in the province and many new clubs being created simply to take part in the newly created provincial league.

Patience

Kasom urged stakeholders to remain patient and remember that Rome was not built in one day.

"As Project Chonburi is the pioneer of Vision Thailand programme, their start was not easy and they have went through difficult times before they established themselves,” he said.

"There will be obstacles before you achieve something. But what I would like to say to Phuket and Khon Kaen is; many provinces are looking at you, please turn the pressure into motivation and do your best. Then everything will be easier and smoother.

“I told the President (Worawi) to give us one year and see what we do. In fact, there are already some provinces contacting me regularly and expressing their interest in joining Vision Thailand in order to develop their football.”

Worawi's vision

Kasom praised Worawi for his efforts to raise the level of football in Thailand and his decision to join the Vision Asia programme.

“The President is always looking ahead, to bring Thailand football to a new heights. Before Vision Thailand, there was not a single provincial football association here. Now, Chonburi, Phuket and Khon Kaen have its own FAs and this means a lot to us,” he said.

“For the past two years, the President never stopped instilling the Vision Asia principles and methods to the clubs in the league, especially in the less developed Division One, Division Two and the Provincial League.

“More clubs have realised the importance of professional football and what it is all about. Vision Asia has become a model for everyone to emulate." said Kasom.

Bright future

Kasom expects Thailand football to be back among the Asia's elites as long as they are following the Vision Asia concept.

“It is a long-term project in which we have everything to gain and nothing to lose. Thailand football will be benefit in a whole in the long run. We are very grateful and proud to be part of this titanic plan.”

Charade,

I have translate above article and posted it on thailandsusu.com discussion board.

If you follow Vision Asia closely, you will know that Vietnam is about three years ahead of Thailand in modernizing its football development program according to AFC's Vision Asia model.

Vision Asia is an intensive development plan to put things, several key aspects, of football development in the right place before climbing to the promised land.

The report indicate that in addition to establishing Provincial Football league, Long An Football Association has also recreational leagues for farmers, government officials, and private sector workers league.

As for youth football development under Long An Football Association, competion between school team of primary schools, Middle schools and High schools have also been established.
This perhaps explain why Vietnam U16 is in this year Asian U16 Championship final.

Vision Vietnam - Long An project was launched in 2005 and it is now in the finishing phase as Long An Football Association is now able to support itself. Thus, Vision Vietnam - Long An project is scheduled to close in June of this year.

What is the next step for a successful pilot program such as Long An?
Vietnam Football Federation has request for the help from Football Federation of Australia as well as other international organizations to assist Vietnam football to reach the next levels of development.

This is really impressive performance by VFF and kudos to veryone involved!

Club development workshop held in Chonburi
Quote

Kuala Lumpur: Football clubs in the Thai province of Chonburi have been given 10 weeks to prepare all documentations for licensing with the Chonburi Football Association.

This was one of the steps identified during a two-day club development workshop by AFC’s Vision Asia team, led by its Director Michelle Chai.

The clubs will have to also register themselves either as an association or a commercial entity before the start of the inaugural Chonburi Provincial League in October this year.

The workshop was attended by 26 participants from 12 clubs, namely Panusnikom, Bothong, Banglamung, Nongyai, Panthong, Sriracha, Ko Chan, Muangchon, Ban Bueng, Chon-Chai, Assumption Sriracha, Pattaya.

The workshop was held to inform potential participating clubs of the newly-introduced Chonburi Club Licensing Regulations, to explain the criteria of the Chonburi Club Licensing Regulations and timeline for implementation as well as to share Vision Asia information with the participating clubs.

The provincial league is part of the Vision Thailand Project Chonburi, which has the aim of establishing football in the province and raising its standards.

Vision Asia is the AFC’s plan to raise the standard of football across the continent in all aspects, including coaching, sport medicine, futsal, refereeing, marketing and competition.

Something to keep an eye on with regards to Vision Asia.

Nations / Cities now getting dropped if they don't help the AFC in their progress, they can't just sit back and expect money for nothing.

So, no time to relax.

I still am not certain about Vision Chonburi's  "ELite League"

1. Why do we need another league along side TPL, D1 and D2?

2. Will these 8 clubs survive, financially?

3.  Where do we begin our development on the youth side and how?

Chonburi FA bosses' big plans
Quote
Chonburi: The Chonburi FA’s (CFA) top officials have already drawn big plans to make use of the lessons learned from a recent FIFA Futuro III course to benefit not only footballers in the province but also other Vision Thailand projects.

CFA General Secretary Thanasak Suraprasert told the-afc.com that he had ideas in his head on how to refine and improve his association based on the information obtained from the course.

“With the skills acquired from this course, I want to help share our progress here in Chonburi Football Association with all the other Vision Asia Projects and other interested members in our football family through structured delivery and relevant contents.

“It gave me valuable insights, knowledge and information on the administration of football as well as how we can deliver the contents as Instructors to the participants. The course was very professionally organised, with good facilities and within a conducive learning environment,” he said.

CFA Deputy General Secretary Wiboon Maneechai shared his boss’ enthusiasm: “Right now, I am transferring the knowledge that I received to the U-16 students in our Academy who are doing a football elective module in their Diploma programme.  We are preparing them for the future in the football industry.

“It was my first experience attending a FIFA-AFC-organised event. I am very impressed and learned through the course the knowledge, duties, roles and skills required for the administration of football.

“Apart from these, the Instructors showed and shared their knowledge and experiences. There was good interaction among the participants who also shared experiences with each other," he said.

The FIFA-AFC Fututo III Administration and Management Course was held from November 3 to 8 at the PJ Hilton, in Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur.

Recommendations for Project Khon Kaen
Quote

Kuala Lumpur: The comprehensive football development blueprint for the Thai province of Khon Kaen is now in place which is the beginning of the implementation process of the Vision Thaildnd-Project Khon Kaen programme between Khon Kaen FA and AFC Vision Asia Department.

The blueprint document called Project Khon Kaen Strategic Development Plan (SDP) was finalised in January this year after the draft plan was discussed by both the AFC Vision Asia Department and Khon Kaen FA (KKFA), during a Planning Workshop in October 2010.

The SDP recommends, among others, that the League Regulations and Club Licensing Regulations be endorsed and that a Club Development Workshop be held to educate the teams in the province on the club development process so that they will become full-fledged clubs eligible to play in the first season of the Elite League which is expected to be launched at the end of 2011.

The League Regulations and Club Licensing Regulations are expected to be in place by February 2011 followed by the Club Development Workshop by March 2011, with the clubs expected to be licensed by July 2011.

Chonburi conference to set new trend
Quote
Chonburi: The recently concluded Chonburi Football Conference will be the beginning of a new culture of technical knowledge sharing among football proponents in the Thai province here.
Chonburi Football Association (CFA) Education and Vision Asia Director Mohammed Basir told The-AFC.com that the 22-23 January 2011 conference’s objective was to share the information from the World Cup Conference organised by FIFA and AFC in Kuala Lumpur last year.

Basir and fellow CFA staff Wittiya Laohakul and Nophodol Pibulvech had attended the FIFA-AFC Conference and were the presenters in the conference in Chonburi.

Basir said: "It was our intention to start a culture of bringing technicians together to interact or discuss technical matters to improve the development of Thai football.

"This was done during the conference through break-up group dialogue sessions, which culminated in group presentations on stage. Presentations from the FIFA-AFC Conference were shown to them and the relevant materials were distributed.

"It is our wish to see CFA’s football conferences grow from this humble beginning and CFA will continue with the process of training and educating our human resources."

CFA President Vittiya Khunplome opened the conference which boasted the theme ‘The Modern Trend’, and was held at the Chon-Inter Hotel here and attended by 43 participants.

Basir said the participants now bore the responsibility to transfer the information garnered to the players and fellow coaches or peers.

"This will be the true measure of success," he stressed.

Chonburi is one of the Thai provinces which are implementing the AFC's Vision Asia continent-wide football development programme.
