Who is TBC It means To Be Confirmed. As in, they were unsure which teams would be representing Thailand when they drew up the list.

Which suggests that the FAT was the only association which made a late decision on who would get the AFC spot. Monday was the latest date for Chonburi or the represantive of Thailand, to send the papers to the AFC. Which means, FAT couldn't play the FA Cup on any later date.

2/12/2010 : FIFA decides today Zurich: The marathon race for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups reaches its climax here Thursday as FIFA votes to decide who will stage the footballing extravaganza.
Four Asian nations – Australia, Japan, Korea Republic and Qatar –are bidding to host the World Cup in 2022. The USA are the sole non-Asian bidders for this edition.
Years of intense campaigning and days of last-ditch lobbying will finally come to an end when 22 members of FIFA's Executive Committee hold a secret ballot to choose the hosts for the two tournaments.
England, Russia, Spain/Portugal and Netherlands/Belgium will make one final formal presentation for their 2018 bids before FIFA delegates begin voting behind closed doors at 2:00pm local time (1300 GMT).
Rounds of voting will continue until one bid receives an absolute majority of ballots. Final results are expected to be announced at around 4:00pm (1500 GMT) at Zurich's Messezentrum conference hall.
On Wednesday, the bidders for the 2022 tournament -- Australia, the United States, Qatar, Korea Republic and Japan -- laid out their final presentations.
Australia wrapped up its campaign by offering to "turbocharge" football in Asia and the Pacific if it was awarded the World Cup for the first time.
Korea Republic officials said that a World Cup could help bring peace to the divided peninsula.
Qatar said FIFA had an "historic opportunity" to bring the World Cup to the Middle East for the first time, building dialogue across the religious divide and promising a commercial bonanza.
Japan meanwhile outlined a futuristic vision of the World Cup, promising to deck out 400 grounds around the world with giant 3-D flatscreens to give hundreds of millions of fans the opportunity of watching matches in a stadium.
The United States used a video appeal from US President Barack Obama and a personal appeal from former leader Bill Clinton to push its claims.

Winstons earned 33 votes, Tran 30 and Zaw 23 – enough to see them earn their places ahead of Timor Leste’s Francisco Kalbaudi (20 votes) and Indonesia’s Nurdin Halid (21 votes).
Thailand’s Worawi Makudi withdrew from the race after retaining his FIFA Executive Committee seat.
Twelve members were on Thursday voted into the AFC Executive Committee during the 24th AFC Congress.
The voting was carried out regionally with each of the four zones delivering three members.

As a result, Mongolia’s Ganbold Buyannemekh, Japan’s Kohzo Tashima and Richard Lai of Guam, were unopposed.
West Zone (three positions)
Two rounds of voting were required to decide these two positions.
Sheikh Ali Bin Khalifa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, won the first round with 29 votes to earn his place.
In the second round, Hafez Al Medlej of Saudi Arabia and Oman’s Khalid Hamed Al Busaidi each earned 27 votes to win their places in the Executive Committee.
Failing to retain his seat was Iraq’s Hussein Saeed while Lebanon’s Rahif Alameh was also eliminated.
South Central Zone (three positions)
The sub-continental trio of Ali Azim (Maldives), Praful Patel (India) and Makhdoom Syed Faisal (Pakistan) garnered enough votes to take the three places on the Executive Committee.
Azim had 27 votes, Patel 26 and Makhdoom 24. Other candidates were Sardor Rakhmatullaev, of Uzbekistan (22 votes) and Suhrob Qosimov of Tajikistan (nine votes).

FIFA's Blatter not threatened by Asian football chief Asian Football Confederation (AFC) president Mohamed bin Hammam delivers a speech in Kuala Lumpur. FIFA president Sepp Blatter has said he was not concerned about the possibility bin Hammam running against him, suggesting the Qatari did not have the support.FIFA president Sepp Blatter said Friday he was not concerned about the possibility of Asian football chief Mohamad bin Hammam running against him, suggesting the Qatari did not have the support.
The ageing Swiss, 74, announced last year that he will seek re-election as president for another four-year term at the world governing body's congress in June, saying his job was not yet complete.
No one has officially said they will run against him, although Bin Hammam has dropped hints, hedging his bets when asked about his plans on Thursday.
"I will not state whether I will run or not," said the 61-year-old, seen as a moderniser.
Blatter said he was not worried.
"If he wants to run it is open," he said when asked by AFP in the Qatari capital Doha.
"The elections in FIFA will be decided on June 1 and candidates must be presented two months before the election, so April 1.
"I don't know of other candidates but I have already declared my candidature and I have received a lot of support from all confederations during meetings in 2010.
"I have received full support, with the exception of Asia, where I have never received full support in their congress assembly.
"But in all other continents they have given their support to me."
Another man considered to have presidency ambitions was powerful South Korean Chung Mong-Joon, but he was unseated 25-20 by Jordan's Prince Ali bin Al Hussein as a FIFA vice-president at the AFC Congress on Thursday.
The loss rules him out of contention.
The prince is a Blatter ally and Arab officials said afterwards that all his 25 votes would go to the Swiss at the FIFA elections.
Bin Hammam backed Chung, and Blatter said it showed that the Qatari did not even have majority support in his own confederation.
"You don't need to be a mathamatician, when President Mohamad said yesterday that he supported Dr Chung," said Blatter.
"If he supported him and he lost, then it shows he doesn't have a majority in his Congress. Deduct from that what you will."

Thanks JC for the links it'll give me some interesting reading this weekend. As the report posted by charade regarding FIFA precidency election, it may not as a sure thing as Blatter wanted it, I hope so anyway. Even it means Blatter is unseated by Hammam it will 1/4 of justice being served. We shall see as there still plenty of time before election day and as Hammam has already started his own body punching campaign reacting to Blatter's annoucement of creating a new committee to investigate corruption.

I may have asked this before but can anyone confirm if Simon McMenemy the Philippines coach is related to Lawrie McMenemy?
The ages would work out for Simon being his son.

V-LEAGUE CLUBS CHASE FOREIGN LEGION HANOI (9 Jan 2011) – With less than two weeks left to the start of the V-League 2011, teams are stepping up their chase for foreign imports.
The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) recently set the limit on the number of foreign players that clubs are allowed to use at the V-League and First Division tournaments.
For the new V-League 2011 season which opens on 22 January, the VFF has issued regulations restricting V-League teams to a maximum of four foreign players, three of whom will be allowed to play at any given time .
Several quarters had complained that the quality of the foreign players do not commensurate with their salaries but with Vietnam clubs not making any serious effort to initiate development programmes, there’s been a serious dearth in acquiring local talents .

Ask, and you shall receive. Worawi on why he retained his FIFA Executive Committee post. I'm sure the same reasons apply for his AFC re-election. http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/sports/215240/worawi-vows-to-keep-working-hard

Could someone please remind Worawi that there are miles of differences between Team's Failure and Teams' Failures. But if he were to talk specifically about AFF Suzuki Cup, the failure was not about techniques or tactics, you oxymo-mo-mo-mo... aggggg! Moreover, it may not be directly related but since he has tendency of blaming the outcome of Thailand on officiating, look at Nakhon Pathom now, what a great sample he's lead. I know he think that he will continue to be FAT's President after the next election. It will be up to the board who are representing club owners and whether or not they see things the same way as their customers.

AFC Asian Cup victory propels Japan into top 20 Kuala Lumpur: Newly crowned Asian champions Japan have re-entered the top 20 of the FIFA World Ranking after an absence of almost five years after the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2011™ made a significant impact on the latest edition of the ranking.
Japan (17, up 12) are now the highest ranked Asian team as well as being the third team, after hosts Brazil and world champions Spain, to qualify for the FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013.
The team Japan narrowly defeated in the final last week, Australia (21, up 5), as well as the losing semi-finalists, Korea Republic (32, up 7), and this month’s highest climbers Uzbekistan (77, up 31), have improved in terms of places and points.
Other teams on an upward trajectory include Iran (44, up 21), Jordan (84, up 23), Iraq (88, up 10) and Qatar (90, up 15).

Goetz officially hired as Vietnam football coach German Falko Goetz Monday afternoon officially signed a two-year contract with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) as head coach of the Vietnamese national football team.
Falko Götz, 49 years old, will therefore lead the Vietnamese national football team and the Olympic team.
VFF’s deputy chairman Pham Ngoc Vien told the signing ceremony held at VFF headquarters that “Falko Götz is the most suitable man for Vietnamese football, satisfying all criteria set out by VFF”.
For his part, the German expert told the press that he will try his best to exploit the strengths of Vietnamese footballers and instill his football philosophy of a beautiful playing style and master in all situations based on three principles: discipline, physical fitness and team spirit.
The new coach said he hoped that with 30 years of experience in football he would be able to contribute to Vietnam ’s football development, and pledged to actively engage in nurturing the country’s football talent.
He planned to give priority to leading the national football team in preparation for the first match of the 2014 World Cup and the U23 team at the 26 th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games), to be held in Indonesia in November.
Götz said he would hand his assistant Phan Thanh Hung full authority to lead Vietnam’s first match at Olympic London 2012 on June 19.
The first match he will take the helms is the one against Macao on June 29 at the World Cup 2014 pre-qualifying round.
Götz arrived in Hanoi on Saturday to finalize negotiations that lasted for three months, right after the Portuguese coach Henrique Calisto resigned from the post in early March.
The experienced Goetz led some elite teams in Europe, including Hertha Berlin in 2004-07. In his competition career, he played as a forward for FCs Dynamo, Bayer Leverkusen, Galatasaray and Hertha Berlin.

Asian footballers are conceiveably the most adaptive footballers in the worrld (not necessary by their own choice). Potugese, English, Deutch, Dutch, French, Brazilian, Serbian, Croat or whatever football styles they put their head down and run with it without hesitattion. Hopefuly, one of these days they will find themselves and simply play football at their own physical, mental and intellect affordabilties.
