I know it sometimes gets a bad press but I have to compliment Siam Keela newspaper. Their Div 2 coverage now extends to an entire tabloid size pullout with full match reports, line-ups, photos and ratings for every match.
Are they online?

Are they online? www.siamsport.co.th but the paper version has a lot more in it - it's nearly worth the 15 baht asking price now!

Just realised our coach has used 24 different players in our seven games so far. And that's starts; 24 different starters! I mean, there's rotation and there's rotation; and then there's not having a f*cking clue what you're doing.

Sounds like some real nonsense going on at your club. I didn't realise Siam Sport had a tabloid, I'll take a look. On a related topic, is their TV station available on UBC?

I totally agree. It's a clear and blatant conflict of interests for him to have financial interests in two different clubs. The problem is catch 22 - we don't want him because of his alleged dark influence, but his dark influence enables him to do what he likes :-(

Make that 25 different starters in eight games, and only three players out of our 31-man squad have played no part this season.

getting a bit excited about Chiang Mai and Phuket it would be a boost for the league if they could move up. Ayutthaya also doing quite well. The management are working hard to improve on the team so I expect them to be in the mix for promotion too. All these teams are allied with a Premier League club.

I think Division One does need a Northern and North Eastern club to be promoted this year with Centrally Based clubs going down - this would help the league geographically and make more Regional League clubs feel that the move from RL to Div One isn't so bad with regards to off field actvitives (long travels etc). In the south, there's currently two teams, and I think for the RL Southern league to really stay competitive and to get better, then they need to keep a two team quota in Div 1. So come on Narathiwat, need to up your game a little. Most interesting RL league this year, it's got to be Central-East, this does seem to be very competitive, and hard to get out of. Northern league again seems to be the weak link. Chiangmai are looking to get it wrapped up by mid season!

Fired the coach which brought them up, and fans are very angry about that. And I am not sure, but I htink they lost too much key players. But thats more a guessing. And yes, Chiangmai is related to thier network which they had founded before the season.

Remember the top two from each division go into the play-offs this year, so still all to play for in the Northern division even if Chiang Mai do run away with it.

If Narathiwat do go down, then I think it is very vital for the progress of Thai football around the country for another southern team to go up. I think for southern football in general they need a quota of 2 in the 1st division. But something the Regional Leagues have to be careful of in the future s having too many of their regional sides playing further up the league system. I know FAT have been calling for a 3rd division, but this could create bigger gaps between leagues and basically find the jump from RL to Div 1 to big.

Has it been confirmed top two from each league or top one and best 3? Good move from FAT to keep some leagues interesting. Remember the top two from each division go into the play-offs this year, so still all to play for in the Northern division even if Chiang Mai do run away with it.

As far as I know it's definitely top two from each division. After that I don't know. Best thing would just be to keep it top two only and have two play off groups of five. If they want two groups of six then then the two best third place finishers would qualify. But how do you determine who they are when there are differing amounts of teams in each division? Or will they have play-offs for the play-offs for the third place teams?!?!

maybe these pics will help you imagine http://www.thailandsusu.com/webboard/index.php?topic=105291.0 It looks very bad but the Ayutthaya fans have said that they hold no grudge against Lopburi fans as it was just a disinct few of them who caused problems. Nobody was badly hurt.

Nothing to do with any on-the-pitch incidents then? Just fans wanting to have a go at rival fans? A worrying but not particularly surprising development. Anyone arrested (or is that a stupid question)? While we're on the subject, b****** are at Udon next week. Could be 'interesting' given the current political situation.

Is that all the evidence available or is there more? Ayutthaya fans should get all the evidence they can and march to their own police station, contact Lopburi FC and Lopburi police and kick up a damn big fuss. That's the only way anything will get done.

I have seen it just by today. Really sad. On the 5fth of May they will decide the penaltys. Could be going up to 100.000 Baht fine.
If I am not wrong the fine catalogue looks like this:
throwing objects at Refs or Players 5 to 30k throwing something on the field 3 to 10k battles between fans 20 to 100k

Siam Sport just showed what happend at the Lopburi game. And it really starts from the Lopburi Fans, throwing bottles to the opposite fans. Later on some guys had been hit with plastic chairs. The cameras really could identify they people, so I hope and guess the right ones will be charged, fined and banned.

Anyone hear what punishment Lopburi got? Meant to be decided on May 5th.
Lop Buri FC have been banned from playing at home for four games following their attack on Ayutthaya FC in the Second Divison Regional League last week. Lop Buri players, officials and fans attacked their Ayutthaya rivals on the pitch and in the stands after becoming infuriated by decisions by the match officials. The violence at Lop Buri took place after the home team suffered a 3-1 defeat. Several Ayutthaya fans were hospitalised. Officials from the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) and the Regional League Organising Committee met yesterday to consider punishment. After the four-hour meeting, FAT deputy president Vorapong Chiewpreecha said Lop Buri fans will also not be allowed to watch their "home" matches at neutral grounds. Lop Buri fans who threw bottles at match officials face a fine of 5,000 baht each. Lop Buri coaches and officials who were involved in the incident are fined 12,000 baht each and are suspended for the rest of the season. Lop Buri FC and Ayutthaya FC are each fined 20,000 baht, Pol Lt Gen Vorapong said the trouble started because fans of both sides were not properly separated. He said the hosts allowed the sale of alcohol in the stadium. Link: http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/sports/37005/lop-buri-banned-for-violence

Most interesting RL league this year, it's got to be Central-East, this does seem to be very competitive, and hard to get out of. Northern league again seems to be the weak link. Chiangmai are looking to get it wrapped up by mid season!
Third place team in Northeast and Northern divisions to go into play-offs with the top two of every division making a total of 12 play-off places i.e two groups of six. The top two from each group to go up to D1. For complete clarity: Southern Division - 2 play-off places Bangkok Division - 2 play-off places Central & East Division - 2/3 play-off places (edit) Northern Divison - 2/3 play-off places (edit) Northeastern Division - 2/3 play-off places (edit) That'll dink dank do for me. Why no 3rd play-off place for the equally large C&E division? Don't ask me. Maybe the three 16-team divisions literally drew straws to see who would be the odd one out. edit: That's (slightly) wrong. The third place team with the worst points total out of the north, northeast and C&E divisions misses out on the play-offs.

That would mean that we do have 4 relegation spots in TPL 1 this year. I am right?

Yes. It's always been four, I just didn't know the exact play-off structure.
