This is what I can make of the clubs listed on that site, I don't think this is a final list  and i'm not sure why there are 5 zones.

Division 2 - North East Zone

So, from looking at the current list.

We now have 5 leagues which all vary in size. So i'm assuming some leagues will play each other twice and other leagues must have 3 or 4 matchups against each other, otherwise
they will be very short seasons.

It's also quite amazing that previously FAT have made clubs drive up and down the length & width of the country and now this time they seem quite strict on which league you enter.
Surely it would make sense to join the league of 5 clubs (North West) with another league?

The weird thing about the central west zone is that Chachoengsao is east of Bangkok and Ratchaburi is west of Bangkok

a small correction, Central West Zone is in fact the Central East Zone. The words for East and west are almost exactly the same in Thai. There is a remark at the end of the list saying "how many?" [teams].
Many of the team lists have changed since I looked at them last. Some teams have been taken away, some added and some with "not sure" written next to them. Seems things are still up in the air. Roughly you cold say that the teams with websites are confirmed.  I'll wait a few days and see what happens then post the changes.

I can't see fixtures coming out anytime soon then if the line-ups aren't even set. I notice that Nong Khai are missing from the Northeast division, too. Apparently their pitch is awful.

I've now heard that Nong Khai are back in and Mahasarakahm are also in! What started as a great idea is rapidly becoming a farce. The old Divison 2 finished on September 7th. These things should have been sorted by now.
Also, if there are to be five divisons, where does that leave promotion and relegation between Div 1 and Div 2?

There's still a chance that things will change again. And possibly a few more times during the season. Ridiculous!

Thanks for that. So the central east zone has gone from five teams to eleven teams in a matter of days!?
And what is 'Thai Summit F.C'? Where are they based?
You've got Ubon Utd and Ubon Ratchathani in the Northeast zone. Are there two teams in Ubon? This is news to me.

I make that 55 teams, give or take. I really hope that enough interest can be generated to sustain them all.

Like Vinne, I can't wait to see how they'll work out promotion at the end of the season. I'm guessing that there'll be play-offs of some sort.

I'm curious as to how finances are going to work. Clubs are usually provided with a budget to supplement what little money they manage to make for themselves. But last season there was only a couple of dozen teams at this level. Are the FAT really going to finance 55 teams?

Also, Tarutao would be a great away trip but I suspect they'll play on the mainland.

Looking at the first round of fixtures on your site nigb, it seems there is now just one team representing Ubon again and Mahasarakam are back in! I think that's the fourth line-up change this year!

It seems like the right time to start a new thread with the fixture lists imminent.
Also, here are a few div 2 related websites:
www.chaiyaphumfc.com  (seems the Issan division newcomers only formed last year)
www.chiangmaifc.com  (forum only)
www.chiangraiunited.com  (essentially just a forum. They played a friendly on the 5th and won 2-1)

I have only seen the fixture list for the first week of D2, but D1 fixtures came out a couple of days ago.
re Ubon, I happen to be out there now and will be able to see the unveiling of the club tomorrow morning.
They are calling the team the "Red Ants"  Cool

Some kind soul has added the teams for all the Division 2 leagues here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_football_clubs_in_Thailand

Look close, and you'll see Ayutthaya FC. Can anyone confirm these teams from that link?

there have been lots of changes to the line up of D2 teams thid year, looks like that line up is a little outdated.
Most recently they released round 1 of the league
http://thaileague.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!D9F43D130584D0ED!467.entry
strangely Bangkok Zone is missing in the fixtures.
yesterday I saw the line ups with their stadiums and start times also with Bangkok zone missing. Ayutthaya are there and sharing Ayutthaya stadium with PEA.

Thoroughly looking forward to Korat 'stamping' on the Red Ants on April 5th. A flash website and a coffee shop can't make up for lack of league experience. I think I've found our rivals already!

Yeah, I've just seen it nigb. Thanks anyway. If it's the same as last season then the second half of the season will mirror the first, that is, we'll play Nakhon Phanom at home on the last day of the season, Ubon away on the penultimate weekend of the season and so on.

In response to your question: it's too early to tell. Although Bangkok Bravo have always commanded quite a lot of affection throughout Thai football; almost a 'cult' club.

I'm intending to take a trip up to watch Korat at some point this season. I know that you may well be otherwise engaged at the start of the campaign, Vinnie but I take it that you'll still be going to most home games?

Anyone else fancy it?

Yes, I should be at every home game, notwithstanding family commitments. Strange looking fixture list - some of our home games are on Saturdays and some are on Sundays. Undecided  Last season all our home games were on Sundays. I'm not sure why they should switch between the two days. As it stands I can't make it to Saturday games but I should be able to jiggle my schedule.  Wink

Division 2 Regional League opening match
Phuket 1-4 Satun

don't yet know if the event lived up to the hype and drew a crowd of 16000.

Looks Phuket's raise to the very top well not be straightforward.

Good job they didn't buy there way to the TPL!

Still a great crowd for this level. Predictions of 16,000 were patently ludicrous.

Thoroughly looking forward to Korat 'stamping' on the Red Ants on April 5th. A flash website and a coffee shop can't make up for lack of league experience. I think I've found our rivals already!

As predicted! Grin  Cheers for the three points Ubon!
