I actually sent a PM to Vinnie after the last round saying I thought we would be drawn together. I also said i'd be far happier if it was at PAT Stadium, then at Khorat  Smiley. Should be a good match!

I'm delighted! I don't think we've got a chance but it's a new stadium for me and I wanted an away trip after three consecutive home ties. Another day off required on Wednesday. 'Korat flu' is particularly virulent this year!  Wink

Good old BEC. Their tie starts at 15:30 on Wednesday afternoon. Shocked :Smiley That was one tie I wanted to avoid because it'll feel more like a pre-season friendly than a quarter-final. When are they going to get floodlights or move grounds? And why aren't they being pressured to do so?

The FAT must be hoping it's a Bangkok Glass v Thai Port final or the Supachalassai is going to be rather empty come cup final day.

Which is why they'll switch the game to the following weekend and invite all the other Thai team's fans to come along and make it a big occasion. Wink

No doubt the fact that Bryan Robson will also be there will add a few more to the gate.

Full Time 3-1 to Thai Port. Thai Port scored after 51&52 mins, then Korat had a guy sent off in the 55th min. It looks like that 5 minute spell was the end of Korats chances. It was nice to see them get a consolation goal at the end though.

Yes. That sums in up quite nicely. It was good to get to half time at 0-0 although, to be fair, most of the first 45 mins was played in our half but we defended very well, better than I thought we were capable of. Two goals in a minute early in the second-half killed the tie. The first goal was caused by a mistake from our keeper but I don't think it would have made a difference in the end; Thai Port were superior in every department. The red card was fair enough, too. Promphong was carrying a knock and didn't come on until the 60th minute but by then it was far too late for him to be able to help.

All of which couldn't take away from what had been a great day out. Three supporters' coaches left Korat at 11:00. The fans on these buses combined with many Bangkok 'exiles' combined to make an away support of about 250 - about the same that we were getting for home games last season! No problems at all inside or outside the ground. Upon arriving we were greeted by a couple of officials from Thai Port who, after we had purchased tickets, led us round to the away section. I'd heard that you weren't allowed to take bags into the PAT Stadium but that didn't seem to be the case yesterday; our bags weren't even checked. The PAT's reputation as a bit of a bear pit wasn't really in evidence yesterday but I guess that's to be expected given the way the game went, a bit of a stroll in the park for Thai Port. After the match, many of the Korat fans went onto the pitch to greet players of both sides but particularly their own as this match of course represented the end of a long, emotional season. There were many 'thanks for the memories' hugs as fans said goodbye to the players until next year.
As we boarded the coaches to go home, nearly an hour after the full time whistle had blown, a group of Thai Port fans were still there and applauded us as we got onto the bus!
The buses pulled to a stop in front of Ya Mo at 1:30 am after a horrendous journey through torrential rain, but it would take more than that to dampen spirits as pockets of Korat fans wandered off into the night still singing their heroes' names.
The 2010 season can't come soon enough!

Great diversity of Korat fans there yesterday - not just the colourful singing section that I had expected. On the bus I was sitting next to a retired Major General (Army engineer, 38 years in service) who was responsible for building the road from Korat to Aranyaprathet! He now spends his retirement travelling round the country and, latterly, following Korat FC. It brought a lump to the throat to see the exiles there. A couple of guys in Port Authority of Thailand overalls who had just come off a shift in the docks but originally from Phimai in Korat province; an off-duty policeman who had to do a night shift after the match, originally from Jo Ho just north of Korat city. There was even some Samut Prakan and Udon Thani fans there in a show of lower-division comaraderie. A wonderful night.

I met a similar bunch at your match against Tak in the 1st Round. There were a few BKK based exiles who made the journey to Nong Jork that day as well. I guess that the usual bunch were also in attendance?

I'm glad you had a good day and you were treated well by the Thai Port staff and fans.

So the bag searching rule at PAT Stadium didn't last long! Maybe they trust the away fans more than the home fans  Wink.

I thought the sending off was a bit harsh, but Wamba didn't help himself by shoving Jirawat in the chest, when Jira seemed to be telling the ref not to send him off.  :Smiley

As for Korat's goal...It was announced as a Swa-Moise own goal, but I think the Goalkeeper kicked it in. I'm sure the Korat player who was lurking in the area will be happy to claim it.

Did they announce the attendance at all? Judging from the video clips and photo's i've seen, it didn't look as full as it has been.

That's a pity. I would have loved to see M150 vs Thai Port in the final. Cause both clubs have a big tradition in the thai cup competitions. 3 times queens cup winner vs 6 time queens cup winner.

Of all the teams left in the FA Cup, Osotspa are the only one we've beaten this season (we lost away, but won at home). TTM have beaten us twice this year, both times with a 90th minute winner! BEC Tero somehow managed to beat us a PAT Stadium, despite us dominating the match from start to finish (we still have to play them at Nong Jok).

Obviously I would have liked a home draw, but the surroundings in Saraburi won't be 100% familiar for the 'home' team, so I'd say we have a fighting chance  Smiley.

Did they announce the attendance at all? Judging from the video clips and photo's i've seen, it didn't look as full as it has been.

I've got a figure of 3117 based on the gate receipts figure that was in the paper the next day.

Can anyone tell me the name of the Pattaya player who missed their decisive penalty against Korat (when the ball hit both posts)? Cheers.

Well done lads!!!!

I'd love to be able to tell you all about the match, but I only saw the 33 minutes of action Cheesy. The Siam Sport website streaming went down, and I spent the last 57 mins clicking refresh, and following the score on Cheerballthai.

I don't hold out much hope of seeing the final, but if we win, who cares! I'm sure I'll be able to get a DVD copy from Pantip Plaza, next time i'm in Thailand  Smiley.

The other Semi-Final looks to be cracker! BEC Tero were 3-1 up, but TTM pegged them to back 3-3. Whoever wins that match will know that they have already beaten us twice this season....Let's hope we can make up for that in the Cup Final  Grin

It is really a pitty that BEC has so much less supps. But lets hope that they at least can bring on 1.000 of their sups. Marco, what is your expectation of TP supps may show up at the final?

If TP can bring on around 6000 + 1000 for BEC we would have 7k. So can we expect about 10.000 at final in total?

Maybe the FAT can handout some free trickets to school kids. Wouldnt that be an idea to fill the stadium?

If TP can bring on around 6000 + 1000 for BEC we would have 7k. So can we expect about 10.000 at final in total?

Maybe the FAT can handout some free trickets to school kids. Wouldnt that be an idea to fill the stadium?
It's hard to say really. I know in the last few games at PAT Stadium, they added 4 more rows of seats to the meccano stands. So that boosted the capacity to around 7,000. I reckon we could probably scrape together 10,000 fans for the final. I'm sure there will be a few neutrals in the crowd to boost the attendance.

I expect that a few thousand will be bussed in from somewhere. The sponsors would like a big crowd.

I saw all of the second half. Port pretty much dominated and the victory was well-deserved from what I saw.

I saw the last twenty five minutes and Thai Port's players spent most of their time rolling around on the floor waiting for, and getting, the stretcher during that time.

I can't comment on the opening sixty five minutes but I'll take Vinnie's word for it Smiley

Old Tor Chittinand reckons that Osotspa were the better team. That makes me believe Vinnie's version of events even more  Grin.

You were relying on the counter attack during the last twenty minutes but by then Osotspa had no option but to chase the game. You should also have had a penalty when Ekachai (I think) was hacked down by two defenders.

Nice to see the local bigwigs were out in force Wink

It looks like the FA Cup Final has been changed from Saturday 24th, to Friday 23rd October with a 5pm Kick Off.

The adverts, fixture list and information on the TPFC website has had the dates changed from Sat to Fri..

Apparently the 23rd of October is Chulalongkorn Day/Rama 4 Day, so the match will be played on a public holiday. Should be a good day out for all the fans!
