Winning goal was scored in the 115th minute and we fielded a weakened side again (although Army probably did too).

If it's either of those two away, you can certainly count on my support. Unless it clashes with a Chonburi match.

Does anyone know if the draw will be seeded? I hope it isn't.

All I know is that the draw is at 14:00 on the 23rd. We could yet have a true derby with Wongchavalitkul Uni'.

Wongchavalitkul Uni 0-0 (3-1 pens) Rayong.
Just thought I'd put this on as I noticed that the FAT and nigb's site don't have it yet.

So Korat have two teams in the third round draw!

Korat v Customs. Not the glamour tie I was hoping for but with Customs second bottom of Div 1 it gives us a real chance of progressing. More excitingly, Wongchavalitkul Uni v Pattaya.

Nice one! Make sure you wear your Thai Port shirt  Smiley

It'll be interesting to see how many of our ever increasing fanbase make the trip to Rayong. I'm sure some will make the journey for novelty value alone. We have played our last 4 games @ PAT Stadium, and 5 of our next 7 games are at home also!

PS, In the true spirit of the FA Cup 3rd Round who are you picking as the giant killers? I quite fancy Wongchavalitkul Uni to get a result against Pattaya Utd  Wink.

Khon Kaen, Korat and PTT are my choices. I think that P*ttaya will be too strong for the university side.

I might wear my old tangerine and blue Oldham shirt. Same colours but not quite as controversial as sporting a rival team's jersey. I'm still getting stick over the photo of me in a Korat shirt ; )

Yeah, that's fair enough! The other day I found in my wardrobe old Osotsapa and Bangkok University shirts that I bought in 2007 (I got them from a shop near National Stadium, despite the fact I'd never seen a TPL game, and knew nothing of the League) I don't think I'll wear them anymore Cheesy.

I think so too. WU squeaked past Div 2 Rayong on pens so they surely won't have enough to turn over Pattaya.
I'll be there for the Customs game next week and hope to get to the WU game.

I don't have great hopes regarding the attendance. The draw was only made last Thursday, there's been no home game in the meantime where the match could have been promoted and I've seen no posters up around town. Even the homepage of the official website says the next home game is on Sunday - no mention of the cup match www.koratfc.net  I'll be surprised if there's more than 500.

Korat 0-0 Customs (4-2 pens)
Well we're through. 4-2 on pens with everything wrapped up at the ungodly hour of nine o'clock. Pretty even game. Man sent off for both sides and it was Promphong who struck the winning penalty.
I was going to write a lengthy report for this game, or rather, I just did write a lengthy report on this match but having tapped away for close to an hour on a defective keyboard in an Internet cafe, when I clicked on 'Post' the webboard told me that I had 'timed out' Angry So, sorry, I'm not going to go through it all again. A much plainer report will be put on my website in due course.

For the record, the customs related words which I managed to shoehorn into the report which will now never see the light of day, were, tariff, tax, anything to declare, quaratine, smuggle, levy and red channel.

A couple of other observations from last night. Man of the match was undoubtedly the Customs African centre back. He man-marked Promphong out of the game in the most commanding way. Just the sort of player we need. Hope the coach was paying attention.

Last night was the first time since I've been in Thailand that I've had to do the midweek 'dash-after-work'. No time to change out of my office clothes and it was nice to see plenty of others up there similarly attired who had obviously sacrificed dinner and a night in front of the telly for the football. Good choice.

Attendance of 756 was much better than I was expecting. Bear in mind that last season we were getting 300 for league games kicking off on Sunday afternoons with free admission. We're now getting more than double that for an unadvertised, midweek cup game. Encouraging stuff.

Vinnie, this has happened to me a couple of times. I think I salvaged the situation by clicking 'back' on the web browser, then copy and pasting what I had written onto a 'word document'. I then signed back into the forum, and copy and pasted from the 'word document' onto here. Give that a go if it happens again.

Navy Rayong 1 Thai Port 2

This was a cracking cup tie. Right from the first whistle both teams showed their attacking intent by getting players forward at every opportunity. The visitors employed what some people like to refer to as an old fashioned centre forward whereas the home team relied more on pacy wingers.

The deadlock was broken midway through the first half when the Thai Port defence completely failed to react to a right wing corner and the Navy striker had the easy job of heading the ball home unchallenged. Cue scenes of celebration in the two main stands and some defiant chanting and flag waving by the pocket of 100 or so orange and blue clad opposition supporters sitting directly in front of me.

There were no more goals in the first half but one golden chance fell to Thai Port when the home keeper made a complete hash of a clearance. However, the rather startled forward failed to make the most of the opportunity and the shot, such as it was, sailed harmlessly wide.

If the first period had been pretty even the second forty five was virtually all Navy Rayong. In spite of the fact that they arrived about five minutes after everyone else for the resumption the home side looked like they were on a mission to finish things off. Roared on by a crowd which had swollen to about 3,500 they tore into their opponents. But, in the space of about 60 seconds the game was to take a rather unexpected twist.

There looked to be little danger when Thai Port were awarded a free kick about 30 yards from goal. It wasn't the best strike I've ever seen but somehow Jirawat's shot found it's way through a crowded penalty area and into the net. 1-1.

Within a few seconds of the restart the ball was worked back to Jingorn in the Navy goal and it was time for his party piece again. This time Teerawut made no mistake as he seized on the second poor clearance of the afternoon and coolly slotted home.

The home fans couldn't believe it. From being in complete control they had slipped behind and their team were now chasing the game. Wave after wave of attack followed but the Thai Port defence stood firm, with Moise looking particularly impressive; his headed clearance off the goal line was superb.

At the final whistle the visiting players and supporters celebrated a hard won victory and I came away fully satisfied after witnessing a very entertaining game.

Stretcher Count : Navy Rayong 0 Thai Port 4

Ref Watch : Had a decent game.

Thanks SRS, I'm glad it was a good match! How much did it cost to get in?

You are right about Teerawut's goal. He could have easily snatched at it, and made a hash of the shot, but it was a very cool finish.

There is no doubt that Moise is the key player in our defence. It looked like he was going to move to Bangkok Glass, but luckily for us he decided to stay.

It was B50 to get in. That has been the standard charge for all FA Cup ties I've seen this season (apart from the Tak v Korat game at Nong Jork - which was free).

Based on Wednesday's performance you should do all you can to hang on to Moise. He was outstanding.

1-0?? Shocked I reckon 4-1 to Chonburi. I still think Pattaya will get knocked out by Wongchavalitkul Uni.

Well, I'll be there to see it. The only way the students can do it is if Pattaya put out a second string which, I would think, is quite likely.

I'm not so sure, Vinnie. They will be going all out to win this competition. After all that investment the owners will be expecting some return.

They have certainly found some sort of form since Jaded took over and look a good bet to go all the way (I CAN"T BELIEVE I"M WRITING THIS!!!!!).

Needless to say, I hope that the students can turn them over. I'd laugh like a drain Smiley
