I'm hoping for Army or Navy for Raj and Chonburi for MTU. Both at home, of course.

According to Thai League Online these matches are scheduled for Sunday 12th September. Surely that can't be right? Can it?!

Surely not.
Also, it's been 40 minutes, and TLO hasn't been updated with any teams in the draw. Do you think they're still making speeches?

And we're up and running:

All matches 15 September

Army v Nakhon Pathom 1800
MTU v Rajpracha-Nontaburi 1900
Pattaya v Chonburi 1900
Navy-Rayong v Si Saket 1730

A couple of tasty derbies there. Big question (apart from are they really playing on Sunday?) is Which stand is the_englishman going to sit in?

And it's highly likely that the matches will be scheduled for kick-off the day after the draw has been made ...

Close - 3 days after Wink

EDIT 14:53- Dates have been changed to 17-19 September. See earlier post for details.

EDIT 15:01 - Now they're all being played on the 15th.

The 17th, 18th and 19th were actually kick-off times.  Grin Grin

Brilliant. It had to happen.

15/9 Nongkhai FC v Army 1600 (League Cup)
15/9 Army v Nakhom Pathom 1800 (FA Cup)

Expect more rescheduling. (Unless the Thai military have a very, very fast jet we don't know about)

Wolfman, you should get a job as the FA Cup's media officer if you can sell MTU v Rajpracha as a 'tasty derby'! Grin

I'd love to see the Army win this. They've got a great chance of getting to the semis at least.

Thanks for the update. See you at Nong Prue next Wednesday then Shark - if you fancy a beer before/after the match let me know.  Should be a tasty one - shame it's a Wednesday - a full house at the weekend would have been fun.
I feel a customer visit to the Eastern Seaboard coming on for the 15th (no later than 3pm!) Cheers all those still left in the draw and good luck. Let battle commence.

As the media officer, I'd certainly be kept busy with all the updates and changes of schedule.

Here's another one: 1526 - The dates have been removed from the above ties, but the times are still the same.

Besides, isn't the MTU-Raj derby like the Milan derby, just the Thunderdome/Yamaha instead of the San Siro?  Grin

I officially resign as FA Cup media officer - injured digits due to continual updating of a draw made 90 minutes ago.
According to Thai League online, the Thunderdome derby will now be played on the 23rd. The other matches are still on the 15th, for now. KO times as above.

The Army v Bang Phra in the FA Cup final? I don't think there's a stadium in the country that is big enough to accomodate all the fans. Wink

True - I originally posted that last line 3-4 posts earlier, then removed it for the reason that it could have been the website's fault. However, I figured whoever was updating had to be getting the misinformation from somewhere, most likely the FAT. (Who, 6 hours later, only have the fixtures, but no dates or times).

Anyway, I don't usually tune in to the draws for World Cups, but after that, I'm counting the days until December 2025 for the draw for Thailand 2026. It will be comedy gold. I'd slap a fair wedge on the Thais to win that cup too - no other nation will have as much experience at last-minute schedule changes as the Elephants. I can just see it now, Germany or Brazil or Italy losing the final because they had fly from Bangkok an hour before kick-off to a hastily rearranged match in Hat Yai.

I am not sure, I think we raised this question already last year at the same stage. There is still a possibility that MTU and or Chonburi winning the league as well as the FA Cup. Would that mean, that the finalist will qualify for the AFC Cup next year? Or will it be the 2nd spot in the League?

im not a big fan of a finalist being included, last year cfc fans put on pressure to be included but died down when they realised they hadn't achieved it.
My understanding of these tournaments is that the afc want pro clubs, i dont think the army fullfil this even if they came runners up to a double winner.

really best waiting until it becomes more clear how many teams afc allocate next year and who makes the grade from the afc criteria

Well the army at least would have the stadium and BKK. But What about NP made it to the finals? And I am sure they will not get promoted. Thats why I believe that the FAT may make a last minute decission, depending on who will reach the finals. ...however you are right and we will have to wait.

I'm willing to be that over the past 6 years our total attendances are bigger than MTs. Who, let's remember, had no fans at all until last season. I suggest you learn your Thai football history before you start criticising Chonburi's crowds. Smiley

You really are stuck in this groove about the good old days aren't you. Yes and 139 years ago Notts Counties gates were probably bigger than Man Citys.  Who cares?

By the way I do know Thai football history - I've been living and working here for 18 years my friend. How far do you want to go back? I didn't follow Thai football so much apart from some International games because to be brutally honest it was utter dross.

A bit belated as I was down in Krabi for work on Thu/Fri but congrats to the sharks on the win. We were totally outclassed and they fully deserved it. I don't think the sharks played that well but it was more than enough to beat a Pattaya side who were hopeless in every way. Anyway - hope you go on and win the thing. Cheers

Honestly I don't really like to see a final between MTU and Chonburi. Even though it would create a nice atmoshphere with a sold out Suphachalasai.

Could be moved to the Rajamangala if Chonburi play Muang Thong. I'd like to see a Chonburi v Navy final if Army don't make it.

Yes, but I made an error stating the AFC game is on Wednesday, actually it's tomorrow (Tues) so MTU have 48 hours break. It could still affect them though.
