So it was Wednesday 21st. Then it was Saturday 24th. Now it's Friday 23rd. What an absolute joke! Couldn't organise a "booze" up in a brewery.

It makes sense to hold it on a public holiday, but what kind of governing body changes the date of the most prestigious event in the club football calendar with just a week to go?
It's a rhetorical question. We all know the answer: a f**king useless, clueless one.

Well it might be a good idea to place the final on a national holiday like next week. But looking way forward, how the FAT would be able to sell international TV rights for such an event? Switching the date 3 times, beside the fact that in other countries people are working, and nobody would be interest to watch the game cause of that. Having the Final on an Saturday evening, would make it interesting for Euope and Asia, timewise.

...well ok, maybe I am a few years ahead of the FAT :Smiley

I am a little bit confused by thaileaguefootball.com. It says

Champions - Muang Thong United

The Thai AFC Representatives - Muang Thong United, Chonburi

Huh?? Did I missed somethinh? Did the FAT changed their decission regarding the Cup winner?

My guess is that it will be the cup winners v the league champions. I'm sure that at least one person will be hoping for a Tero victory on Wednesday/Friday/Saturday/Yesterday.

1-1 after extra time.

I missed the whole of extra time. F****** NBT11 decided to start showing the News instead of ET (thats Extra time...not ET the movie  Grin)

I've just found a decent Siam Sport TV stream, so i'll be able to watch the penalty shoot out anyway.

I've just posted a summary of the game ---> http://thaiportfc.blogspot.com/

The attendance looked pretty decent. both stands at the side of the pitch looked quite full. I'd estimate 15,000.

Thanks Greg!

I couldn't believe it when NBT11 starting showing the news. I was expecting them to go back to the football at any moment. After missing all of extra time, I managed to find a good streaming of Siam Sport TV for the penalties.

Say what you like about Siam Sport TV's links with MTU, but at least they show the whole f****** match!

It was a good match Felix, I thought your team played well. You had us under lot of pressure at times, and with a bit more luck Anon could have had a goal or two.

This whole season has felt like a dream. Up until this year most teams only had about 40 fans at EVERY game!!

Congratulations to Thai Port. Although as Chonburi have a better head to head record against them, shouldn't we be entering the AFC Cup instead? Wink

Congratulations to Thai Port. Very well-deserved triumph (based on the whole competition, not just yesterday's performance).
Korat are obviously the moral victors as they played more matches than Port or Tero in the competition.  Wink Cheesy

Did they announce the attendance at all? Judging from the video clips and photo's i've seen, it didn't look as full as it has been.

I've got a figure of 3117 based on the gate receipts figure that was in the paper the next day.

Can anyone tell me the name of the Pattaya player who missed their decisive penalty against Korat (when the ball hit both posts)? Cheers.

Are you planning on erecting a statue of him next to Ya Mo? Wink

No. This is why: http://www.clubwebsite.co.uk/koratfc/club_news.pl?news=260054   Grin

Hmmm....I was sure I had made a post here but it's disappeared.

Guys, the data for the Thai FA Cup on Wikipedia and elsewhere conflicts with some information I have. Wiki states that in 1984 Lopburi won, but on the Raj website it says they won in "2527" which is 1984. Also, wiki says Raj won the FA Cup twice, Raj OS says they won it  five times.

Can anyone offer any insight? Do we have reliable FA Cup data in English?

the data's in the wiki are mainly coming all from here. http://rsssf.com/tablest/thaicuphist.html#kor

There might be a problem with the years, like it depends on the way you look. Are you champ of 2004 or 2005 if you played a season you can call 2004/05. Do you know what I mean? I am always faced this phenomenon.

Btw, the final 1985 Raj vs Chaiyaphum. This Chaiyaphum team is not the same like we do know now as Chaiyaphum United. I recently talked to the webmaster of them and asked for that.

Pattaya School 8 (Magna) v Nakhon Sawan

I'm sure Nigel will have the rest on his site later. Don't think the early rounds are being played on neutral territory this time round.

Yes, 'Nakhon Ratchasima Sports School' are the other team. I'm trying to find out some information about them. I'm hearing that these matches will be played 17-18 April. So the original schedule has gone out of the window.
Just 3 teams enter from Northeast Region, three from Northern and only two from southern.

That's my point, Loko'. That the original schedule has changed.
I hope we don't play that weekend though. I really want to go but there is no way I'm making a journey like that when everyone is going back to the cities after Songkran.

Not mandatory to enter. I've said before that the early rounds should be regionalised and that there should be financial rewards for getting through each round (just as there are in the English FA Cup) in order to encourage more teams to enter.
