Are there any first division games this weekend? As there are no Premier league games, I'd wouldn't mind going to watch a 1st division game in the Bangkok area.

Also does anybody have a link for 1st div fixtures (Thai or English) between now and the end of the season?

Chula is probably easier to get to if you're in central BKK. It's right next to the university and not far from the National Stadium and MBK. It's a bit of trek out to Honda - it's by the Suvanabhumi airport.

I think Chula's stadium is nicer. It's fairly compact, with plastic seats and an artifical pitch. However, if you go and watch Nakon Pathom, they have an English lad, Lee Tuck, playing for them.

Has that helped, or made it harder to decide?

PS I haven't been to the Latgrapang stadium since 2006 - Bangkok Bank used to play there. At that time it only had one large stand, which was a fair distance from the pitch. I've driven past it since and it doesn't look as if they've improved it.

I don't really support any specific team as yet as I've just started watching Thai football this season. The 3 nearest teams to where I live are Bangkok Utd, Thai Army and TOT but none of them really interest me. The team I've enjoyed watching the most has to be Muang Thong but the stadium I like going to most is Thai Port.

Obviously we will be lobbying you to support one of our teams - in my case Muangthong, Raj or Nonthaburi but if we look at things from your location, I'd suggest Chula Utd. Some have suggested the fans are a bit snobby but I've always found them friendly and many of them speak good English because they are Chula Students. The side always play good football and they're situated in a good location. They have a good website, too.

I'll try to get along to Chula this Saturday. I haven't been to their stadium yet so it will be another one to tick off the list. I'm enjoying visiting different stadiums and watching different teams.

I've been to the Yamaha Stadium to watch both Muangthong and TOT. It's a total contrast in both atmosphere and entertainment.

It's a similar situation with Raj at the Thunderdome though the fans do their best to make some noise. For them though it's a temporary fix as their own - much smaller and more suitable -  ground is being renovated to meet D1 standards. In the case of TOT they moved back from Kanchanburi and then decided their own ground wasn't ready.

Hopefully both teams will sort it out as it's better for absolutely everyone involved for the clubs to have their own grounds. I don't watch TOT but at least with Raj they try to make up for it by playing good football.

On today's evidence I doubt they'll be getting promoted. They started off brightly and scored within the first few minutes. Unfortunately, this prompted some of the Nakon Pathom management and players to surround the linesman for 5 mins to voice their disaproval at his failure to award them a free-kick.. A couple of minutes later, the same linesman failed to give a decision in Nakon Pathoms favour and yet again he was surrounded again by furious Nakon Pathom management and players. Their protests continued for a few minutes and it was only after the police were called over to intervene that play could be resumed.
As the game progressed NP began to improve and could have leveled before the break. Englishman Lee Tuck had a disappointing game and was substituted after about 55 mins with his side losing 1-0. I don't know if it was tactical or if it was because he was carrying an injury. Nonetheless, It proved to be the turning point as Nakon Pathom soon equalised and then scored the winner with about 10 minutes left to win 2-1.
In my opinion NP deserved to win but their early antics didn't really create a good first impression on me. There were probably only 300-400 in the crowd but it was still an entertaining game to watch. Today was my first time at a 1st div game and I can say that I'll definitely be back to watch another one in the future.

The promotion and relegation spots from the Thai Prem and the 1st div are a mirror image of each other.  Both divisions have 2 probables going up/down with the remaining place going to any team from a group of half a dozen or so

I have see customs a few weeks ago vs Siracha. That time Customs beat them by 2:1. I was really wondering seeing the result yesterday. After that match I had a chat with Mika Chunuonsee, and he was very confident that they can go up.

You never know, Songkhla might make it to the TPL. Only 5 behind with a game in hand. I don't mind Nakorn Pathom, but I think it would be great for the South if Songkhla can make it.

Personally I would like to see Sriracha, Khon Kaen and Songkhla come up and see some of the uninspiring BKK teams like BKK UTD and Army go.

Have become an honorary Khon Kaen fan for the rest of the season,  after having a ball with their fans at Air Force on Saturday.  Picked up an away shirt on the way in, and was instantly grabbed and invited to join the chanters as soon as I entered the away section. This despite me explaining that I wasn't really a fan, and merely wanted to see some more North-Eastern (and Northern and Southern) representation in the TPL. Turns out KK have 7 away games out of 11 remaining, so I'm going to try and get to their games vs Suwannapum Customs (public transport directions anyone?) and Chula here in Bkk. Just wish I'd thought of this sooner...

have got the Stadium of Samutprakarn F.C. 2010 as our new home arena
at Customs Sport Center which  located in  Samutprakarn  province,
nearby the Suwarnabhumi Airport.  We can go to the new home field thru Bangna -
Trad Road  (Wat Sri Waree Noi Road)  or  Oon Nuch Road  (Sukhumvit 77)

Raj pull themselves further away from the drop zone. Customs narrow the gap to the top three once again. The last few weeks they dropped behind a bit to much, maybe one last surge? Thai Honda on the other hand have imploded and are now closer to relegation than they are promotion.

Managed to find my way to Customs ground yesterday. For future reference - coming from Onnut BTS, I caught bus 1013 (Phrakhanong - Hua Ta Khae) on Onnut Rd (Sukumwit 77). However, at the Sri Nakarin Rd intersection, it turned left, so I jumped off. I walked across Sri Nakarin, started walking to find the next bus stop, and discovered that it was a No StoppingZone. Walked for about 15-20 minutes, and found a bus stop opposite Onnut Soi 70 (Moo Baan Seri). Caught a minivan (1013 Seacon Square-Techno) which went down Onnut until it became Lat Krabang. It finally turned off Lat Krabang Rd opposite Soi 50. Walked with a couple of other Khon Kaen fans down to Soi 54, then stood waiting for a songthaew (I think). A car driven by a Khon Kaen supporter saw stopped and gave us a lift to the stadium (it's a fair way down Soi 54). After the game, I started walking back, then was offered a lift by a guy on a motorbike (to Lat Krabang Rd). On Lat Krabang, I walked a bit to find a bus stop, then caught the 1013 bus all the way back to Sukumvit.

On the game itself - a pretty entertaining game, considering the state of the pitch (I've seen sheep paddocks in beter nick). Customs scored early in the second half, as much as Khon Kaen huffed and puffed, they didn't really threaten until the last few minutes. Their efforts were also disrupted by the shameless and persistent time-wasting by Customs. They finally scored in the last minute, only to have the goal disallowed by the linesman's flag. At the final whistle, the officials were surrounded by Khon Kaen players and had to be escorted off by police. A few KK fans left the stands to have a go at them too, which inevitably led to a brief scuffle between rival fans. However, this was quickly broken up by the KK fans themselves, the majority of whom seemed to recognise that the problem lay not with the opposition, or their fans, but the officials.

An interesting part of the day was on seeing about 20-30 fans watching the game in shirts of other teams. Before the match I saw at least a dozen ( remember this is a small ground) folks in Thai Port shirts. One of these was in our stand, but the majority were with the home fans). Also in our section were about 6 or 7 Chiang Rai Utd fans, completed with orange wigs, plus a couple of fans in Samut Prakarn shirts. I've nothing against these folks coming to the game, but it just seemed odd that they came in other Thai league shirts. (Perhaps this caught my attention more because of a debate last season on the Wellington Phoenix forum about wearing Liverpool shirts at the home end for a match against Robbie Fowler's side).

An interesting part of the day was on seeing about 20-30 fans watching the game in shirts of other teams. Before the match I saw at least a dozen ( remember this is a small ground) folks in Thai Port shirts. One of these was in our stand, but the majority were with the home fans). Also in our section were about 6 or 7 Chiang Rai Utd fans, completed with orange wigs, plus a couple of fans in Samut Prakarn shirts. I've nothing against these folks coming to the game, but it just seemed odd that they came in other Thai league shirts. (Perhaps this caught my attention more because of a debate last season on the Wellington Phoenix forum about wearing Liverpool shirts at the home end for a match against Robbie Fowler's side).

I've seen the wearing of other team shirts quite a lot too. I saw Thai Port and Chonburi shirts last week at Bkk Utd v Muangthong. Obviously they were cheering for Bkk Utd. It still seems are strange thing to do though.

How much would you say the attendance was Wolfman? I can't imagine that there was much of a home support.

The journey getting there sounds more exciting than any game I've ever been to!

Managed to find my way to Customs ground yesterday. For future reference - coming from Onnut BTS, I caught bus 1013 (Phrakhanong - Hua Ta Khae) on Onnut Rd (Sukumwit 77). However, at the Sri Nakarin Rd intersection, it turned left, so I jumped off. I walked across Sri Nakarin, started walking to find the next bus stop, and discovered that it was a No StoppingZone. Walked for about 15-20 minutes, and found a bus stop opposite Onnut Soi 70 (Moo Baan Seri). Caught a minivan (1013 Seacon Square-Techno) which went down Onnut until it became Lat Krabang. It finally turned off Lat Krabang Rd opposite Soi 50. Walked with a couple of other Khon Kaen fans down to Soi 54, then stood waiting for a songthaew (I think). A car driven by a Khon Kaen supporter saw stopped and gave us a lift to the stadium (it's a fair way down Soi 54). After the game, I started walking back, then was offered a lift by a guy on a motorbike (to Lat Krabang Rd). On Lat Krabang, I walked a bit to find a bus stop, then caught the 1013 bus all the way back to Sukumvit.

The funniest incident like this I've seen was during Thai Port's home ban earlier in the season. I went to their match v MTU at Supachalasai, when Port fans were banned from wearing their team colours. A guy came with a Navy-Rayong scarf, and was spotted in the stands by security. When they asked him to remove it, he unfurled and showed it wasn't a Port scarf, and got a huge cheer from the Port fans. He also showed a membership/ID card some sort, and after a brief discussion was allowed to wear the scarf. I think he might have had a Navy shirt on too

Siam Geela says they got 30000 baht in tickets, so at 50bt/person, maybe 600 plus, if you factor in kids and freebies. Our away stand was full, without being jam-packed, and I'd say the home stand was similar, although it was difficult to judge, as the stands are side by side, but separate. One of the stands on the opposite side looked about half -full, and the other had maybe 40 people in it.

There will be much celebrating in the SRS household if the teams currently in 1st and 3rd are still there at the end of the season.

After the weekend's results, I can't see it being a title decider anymore. 9 points behind SR, even with a game in hand might be a bit especially as Khon Kaen have a beast of a run-in too. 6 of the last 9 away, including visits to Sri Racha and Chula on consecutive weekends.

They'll do well just to stay in that top 3.

I probably made things more difficult by getting off at Sri Nakharin without asking if we'd get back on On Nut Rd. I'm pretty sure the bus went past me as I walked to the next bus stop. I don't usually go for the 'getting there is half the fun' theory, but there is something about trying to find a football match in a new (part of) town with vague directions poorly translated from a foreign language that adds to the experience.
