I know is money but 50,000 baht is the least problem for Nakon Patom. What will they be doing for the next two seasons, runnin football clinic for kids?

Given what happened a couple of weeks ago, I think any right-minded parent would think twice before letting their kids anywhere near that club.

Looks like Customs went shopping.
They signed a bunch of players. From what I figured out, Nikom Somwang from Nonthabui and at least 3 players from Korat. Uthai Pue-Ngoen, Tawanchai Sanhuachang, Surachet Jarernsuk.

Yep, I've heard it might actually be four from Korat now. I would say one of them is possibly Div 1 standard. Three out of the four we won't miss on a footballing level but it's sad to see loyal players – all of them local boys – being rather swiftly and bluntly told they were no longer required. All part of our 'brave new era'.

Well, Vinnie, I still won't give up on the idea of making business out of Nakhon Pathom. How about books? Yea, that's it! A book titling 'How To Kill A Football Club In Record Time'. :-)

Coach of the Year: Tarongyot Glinsrisook (Sri Racha) Young Player of the Year: Surachat Singho-ngon (Khon Kaen) Golden Boot: Chainarong Tatong (Chula Utd) Goalkeeper of the Year: Nantapon Supatai (Sri Racha) Defender of the Year: Sujarit Jantapon (Sri Racha) Midfielder of the Year: Anuwat Inyin (Air Force Utd) Forward of the Year: Wasan Natasan (Chiang Rai Utd) Fair Play Award: Suwannaphum Customs FC
Loko's site says that 1st division midfielder of the year, Anuwat Inyin, has already transferred to Pattaya. That's a shrewd piece of business by the dolphins. I wonder if anyone will take a punt on Chula's top goalscorer Chainarong? I think he'd do well in the TPL. Also is Pornchai still at Air Force? He was the 2nd top scorer in the 1st division last season.

I also really wonder why nobody goes at him (Chainarong). On theother Zico is now coaching there and this may an argument for him to stay?!

Chai Nat transfer action: In come Chalermsak Kaewsuktae (Nakon Patom), Somluck Rasamee (Samut Sakon), and Kim Bung Chae (Buriram FC).
They also signed Somdet Sattabut (Navy-Rayong) on a 3-year deal, but have agreed to loan him to Buriram-PEA after the TPL club expressed an interest. Reading between the lines, I think they're trying to avoid a "Ronnachai Ransiyo" scenario. Sensible, as this way the get something if he makes the move permanent.

I'm going with Buriram, PTT (big spenders) and Songkhla.
I also predict at least one extra play off competition will be announced.

Chainat? Interesting call. Promotion for any club which increases the geographical spread of the TPL will do for me. So any from Chiang Mai, Chainat, Songkhla, Chantaburi, Suphanburi (not likely, I know) or Phuket. Chantaburi are throwing a lot of cash around. Should be in the mix.

I think it could be really interesting. The clubs who've just completed playoffs won't have much time to prepare and make new signings. Buriram and Phuket have money behind them, and I'm aware that Buriram at least have a few TPL players of recent vintage in their ranks. PTT look to have strengthened, and all the teams above them on that list (Songkla - Chula) were pretty even last season. Bangkok Utd have had a big turnover, so who knows what they'll do. Chantaburi could be a wild card - they've picked up a lot of Samut Songkram's players along with the coach.
I think I'll be getting behind Bangkok FC this season. Look forward to seeing you at the Bangkok derbies 66svein.

I am not sure which club to rate for promotion this year. But from what I ave seen, I personally believe that the 2nd tier will be much more intersting and thrilling than the TPL.

Yes, it was more exciting than the TPL last season and potentially it could be even more exciting this season. As for my top 3.. I think the four teams that got auto promo from D2 have all got a good chance depending on how they adapt to the extra travelling they now have to do. We saw with Chiangrai Utd last season, it took a long time before they got used to it. Chainat have got money now and have made some big signings, but I think Phuket and Chiang Mai will just miss out. I think BKK Utd will struggle (sorry Svein, just my opinion). I'll go for Buriram FC, Chainat & Chantaburi. But I'll be following Air Force Utd whenever I'm not at BG or a CRUTD away game in BKK.

Samut Prakan Customs United will play at PAT Stadium this season according to a TLO article. Also, Bangkok Utd's home ground has been listed as Thai-Japanese Din Daeng for now.

Do you know the reason for Customs playing at PAT? Are they developing Latkrabang 54 as there is plenty of room around each the stadium for further development. The pitch needs sorting too. When I was there with Chiangrai, it looked like a cow field. Saying that, I liked it, it is a nice little stadium with stands close to the pitch and a decent atmosphere for a very small stadium.

Thank you ADMIN, for putting the old D1 thread and the new one together!! We`ve had the new TPL 2011 thread for more than 2 weeks now, but my D1 thread only lasted a few hours! I will therefor leave this forum! ADMIN rejected all my registrations at this forum for more than a month when I tried to join in 2009, so I`m sure it won`t be any loss to him that I`m leaving!
Thank you and good luck to everyone (except ADMIN) in the upcoming season!
PS! I have removed my posts above since they was not welcomed here by ADMIN!
Regarding your malcontent , I used to explain why you registrations was confused ( just misunderstanding you are a spammer because of your e-mail address ) and I always want the members don’t create another new topic which used to be talked before . However , it’s difficult to change anyone’s prejudice ( including you ) . I will feel sorry if you leave here anyways .

So Customs change there name and then deice to move province! Great thinking, might aswell of stuck to Suvarnbhumi for the year. Are Bangkok moving becasue of a bigger stadium? Or other issues such as rent?

'Bangkok United v Bangkok F.C' looks like a big derby (on paper, at least!) Agree about Customs, sorry, I mean 'Forza!' Exactly what part of the club is 'Samut Prakan'?

@ Svein, in case you at least still reading here. Charade (the admin) basically is doing a good job here, and he is a very kind lad. As I run my own German board, I know how hard it can be to figure out between spam account and real ones. Espacially if you look at choosen nicks and emailaccounts. Even I deleted two accounts by mistake, just guessing by the name that they are spammers.

Sub-threads for every Div 2 region would be splitting things up too much. I prefer having just one Div 2 thread. When I joined the first incarnation of this forum in late 2006 often days would pass without a single post; now there are dozens a day. I'm pretty happy with how the forum has developed.

It takes times until people find their way to a board. Or lets say until they start to sign up and posting. My german board was nearly empty for half a year, and I am glad to have at least a few found their to post something, even though not in a frequence like here. But (german) readers are always able to find some valuable additional informations to what is written on the front page.

Thai-Japanese Din-Daeng according to TLO a few days ago. On other topics, I'm with 66svein. I notice that the TPL 2011 thread has been merged too. I think new threads for the upcoming TPL and DIv 1 seasons were a good idea. Like Vinnie, I don't think we need one for Division 2 yet, as most of the interest there is once the playoffs begin. At this stage, I'm ambivalent about 2011 versions of FA and League Cup threads.

BKK73, thanks for impressive financial report. From my personal experience of the old days, Air Force has always been one of the teams with huge supporters from air bases around the country including one in NakonPatom, it's just that there was no marketing as it is today. Concidering number of new servicemen coming in each year and football activities within those airbases always kiddle the interest. One of my fond football memories was playing for one of the Air base team. Back then, I am talking about 30+ years ago, those who stationed outside Donmeung and didn't get pick or can't commit to schedules would end up playing for Glass Organization or Osothsapa as we could sneak in the evening before gameday on a free transport plane I have compiled condiderably frequence miles out of that. I'd like to take credit for compiling the financial report, but it was actually Wolfman that wrote it and not me. It sounds like you've had some interesting experiences playing football in Thailand. I could imagine back in the days before football became commercial, that the Air Force would have had a strong pool of talent to choose from. These days though, it's almost impossible to have a day job and play football at the top level. I'd like to see the current Air Force team get back into the TPL but from what I've seen of them towards the end of last season, I think they'll be more likely to have a relegation battle next term rather than a promotion one. You could be right there. A triallist recently sent me this message about his time with Air Force Utd "I trialed with Air force united today.. what a bad team , players are so bad some of them cant even pass properly its horrible, so unorganzied."

I don't know if AFU have signed anyone yet, but I do know that they lost several players to Sisaket and a couple to Pattaya. In addition to that, last season's top scorer, Pornchai, has dropped down a division to sign for his home province Ratchaburi.

Yes. The final is Saraburi v Rayong, with the winner getting promoted. Therefore, we are guaranteed an 8th new face in Div 1 (counting relegated BKK Utd)
Rayong won their match v Prajinburi 5-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

The short-sightedness of forming a new Prachinburi team when the original was in Division 1 has been exposed. I wonder if they'll both keep going, especially as one of them has got to play in the Bangkok division.
