And the thing that gets me most (other than the fact I liked Thai Port) was that after their 3 match home ban earlier this season, we let them use ours for 2 of the games and this is how they repay us.



As for all the TP fans in our end... like Buriram, they bought far more than the 800 tickets they were given.

2-0 on the night (Chatree & Ajayi) and a 3-1 agg win over Singapore league leaders puts them into the final.

They will face Tampines in the final on November 14th.

It's unlikely to be on TV. It wasn't last year, but you never know, maybe one of the channels will send a crew out or buy the rights to the match.

BG have come out to say that Samuel Ajayi is not for sale, after reported interest from a number of clubs, particularly Samut Songkram. Ajayi has 2 years remaining on his contract, and BG have no intention of selling.

Over 1,000 in attendance at the LEO Stadium to watch BG become the first foreign champions of the Singapore Cup via a very unreliable live feed from a handycam in Singapore.

Wasan scored the only goal on 57 mins. BG by far had the better possession and majority of the chances although not many were clear cut.

There was a big fireworks display and wild celebrations at the LEO

The Singapore Cup gamble paid off, as BG certainly seemed to put this at the top of their priority list this season once it was clear we wasn't going to win the league.

Bangkok Glass win RHB Singapore Cup

Bangkok Glass ensured Singapore clubs ended the season this year without any silverware from the nation's three major domestic football competitions when they beat Tampines Rovers 1-0 in the RHB Singapore Cup Final at Jalan Besar Stadium on Sunday night.

Tampines, who finished second to French outfit Etoile FC in the Great Eastern-Yeo's S-League this year, produced some nifty work in the first 15 minutes before the Thais asserted their authority in midfield to take control.

The winning goal for Bangkok Glass came in the 57th minute, when Tampines defender Benoit Croissant deflected the ball into his own net after trying to clear a Wasan Homsaen cross.

Bangkok Glass completed the foreign sweep on Singapore turf after Etoile also picked up the League Cup in February.

Tampines coach Vorawan Chitavanich said the Stags were not their usual selves last night and felt fatigue had set in towards the tail end of the season.

"We just lost the battle in midfield, and after some tough matches in the S-League, we may have passed our peak going into the Cup final," said Vorawan.

"It wasn't that the players did not give their best, which I think they did."

This is the first time since the inaugural season of the S-League in 1996 that none of the local clubs have won any of the three trophies on offer.

Vorawan felt part of the reason was that the teams are hampered by budget constraints.

"How can you pay for good foreign players when we don't have sponsors? It may get worse as the subsidy for local clubs may go down next year," the former Thai international said.

Vorawan has received offers to return to Thailand but said: "It is not a question of money. It is about enjoying what I do and I still do at Tampines. I'll be speaking to the chairman (Teo Hock Seng) about this."

Guess you have the advantage of an aerodynamic lycra suit, while the likes of the Chonburi and Port mascots have those oversized animal costumes to deal with. I can't believe the Dragon and the Lion beat out PEA Man, who should have had a similar advantage.

I don't actually know how the other mascots got on as each run was down on the respective home grounds. PEA Man didn't participate.

I was the last runner and was told I had to beat Tero's Dragon to win.

I saw the videos from TP & Tero's attempts which happened last week.

The lion was in full costume, but Tero's was wearing shorts and trainers with just the head on. Don't know about Chonburi's, MTU's etc... They did say Osot's was terrible though

I have NEVER once said Buriram PEA fans caused any damage to our stadium or our fans.. Yes, they brought down far more than their allocated allowance, wore green shirts and stood in the home end meaning some of our fans couldn't get in, but they were well behaved and absolutely no problem.

Mr Williams finished second last year and was determined to be first at the post this time.

To help with his training he logged on to a special internet fitness website set-up by Australian sprint champion Cathy Freeman.

I remember watching Chaddy the Owl winning all the Mascot's Races on Soccer AM about 10 years ago or so..

To my knowledge, they were mostly just green t-shirts, not actual official BG shirts. I don't know as I didn't notice, but I defiantly did notice it was unusually quiet in R1 zone.
And there was a very heavy police presence in the stands too, hired by Newin. Presumably because he knew he was placing your fans into the home end.

The PEA fans were very well behaved, hence why no one really noticed until after the game.

BG called an important meeting to explain what happened a few days after it happened and I just reported what we were told from that meeting. I have no reason to disbelieve BG.

Anyway, it was never a problem (unlike Thai Port), the only thing was that the game was sold out and so many of our regular fans missed out, which upset the club a bit.

Like I've always said, I like your fans, they are very friendly, I have very positive memories of the fans when I went to Buriram. It was your fans that kick started the whole BG Man thing because our coach was stopped near the market by a load of kids because they wanted BG Man's autograph. (I have the video if you want to see it). That is why you have PEA Man & Thunder Boy now. And I'm not really bitter about that, I am honestly quite proud that I was copied... I just play on it, it's part of my role as BG Man so to speak.

Incidentally, talking of when I went to Buriram, in the away support we had (I'm guessing) about 400 ish. What was interesting to me was that (and I reported this at the time) about 200 or so were Buriram locals in (mostly) official BG shirts. This is the first time on any away trip we have had such a volume of support from whatever region we were in. Usually we may get a handful, but never this many. I just wondered if it was the same for the other away teams (notably MTU & Chonburi). Whatever the reason, it was really good to meet other BG fans from another part of the country.

Club chairman Khun Pavin had a change of heart (thankfully). It originally seemed another mass player turnover (bringing in big names just for the sake of it) and a big name manager (Peter Reid was being banded about) was on the cards.

Giving the job to Sathit is a bold and risky move for sure, but I'm very happy with the fact we are promoting within and not making massive changes to our squad or staff for the next season. I think we lacked a lot of stability last season. It frustrated me a lot in the second half of the season, hence why I started to care more about CRUTD than BG.

But only time will tell........

I know money is a big thing with BG and of course a lot of players will take the offer of the best wage, but Team Manager Supasin and Chairman Pavin are really genuinely nice people. There is also a very big ambition (realistic or not, it remains to be seen) at the club. The stadium and facilities are usually a good selling point too.

As for 'Jo', well, we definitely need a striker who can score goals and I think he will continue but personally I'm not a fan of just buying 'whoever seems to be scoring most'. BG play very different from TP & Thailand, so I hope he fits in to the system and alongside Gbenga Ajayi. I can see an all or nothing outcome, either less than 7 goals or more than 15 goals in the TPL.

Nothing that I am aware of, but I've kept a bit of a low profile at the club since the end of the season, so I'm not as in the know as I should be. However, we do need a couple of defenders BUT ABSOLUTELY NO MORE MIDFIELDERS, PLEASE !!!

Like most clubs, we seem to be staying with what we've got for the most part, which I think is sensible. Last season, there was way too much transfer activity for my liking.

We sent a few players out on loan last season, but I doubt they will be back (Nathawat, Tanut etc.) Loanee's never seem to come back in Thai Football, even though I'd love to see these 2 back at the club.

The only New Zealanders I've heard discussed have been linked with Khon Kaen. One of them contacted me and said nothing is set, as they were still sorting out contract details before making a decision. He also asked me not to mention the name of the other player concerned, out of respect to their current club.

Anyway i know BGFC staff are nice, they have good relationship with BEC staff but sometimes i don't like the way they proceed to get some players but it's okay since it's a part of football business.
