Good away win for the BKK Glass boys against the army today. Hopefully they'll get something at Muangthong on Wednesday to throw the race for the championship open again.

Torn between going to watch Wednesday's game at Muangthong and Thai Port v TOT. I presume BKK Glass have sold out their allocation for the game at Muangthong, so don't really fancy sitting with the Muangthong fans If I can get a ticket for the BKK Glass end I will go, otherwise it will be down to Klong Toey for the slightly earlier kick-off at 5pm.

Not to forget that Peter Laeng made his debut and he got a "warm" welcome from his opponent, beeing on the pitch for just a few seconds.

Dont worry about Michael. He is wearing a different shirt now. ..and I let him know already that he knew where the goalposts are at Yamaha Stadium. I guess Dale did the same, just in case, for Wednesday.

It seems, as he hinted in my interview with him, that is the reason he left Chonburi, because he couldn't play there for them.

From watching on tv tonight, I thought Bangkok Glass played well. They just seemed to lack the finishing touch in front of goal though. If you counted possession and shots on goal, I'm sure BG had more than Muangthong. The difference was that MT were far more clinical in front of goal.

Change of plan this evening led me to watch Muangthong v Bangkok Glass instead of going down to Thai Port.
Ended up watching a very entertaining game. As BKK73 said Bangkok Glass played pretty well and with more composure in front of goal would certainly have recorded a goal or two tonight.
The new lad (no.13) for MTU was outstanding, apart from when his legs collapsed beneath him!
However, the performance of the night came from the 'stretcher boys' who must have needed a physio after their efforts during the second half to attend to the sick, maimed and others suffering various forms of distress!!
The BG bunny girls were much easier on the eye than their red counterparts, although BG Man wasn't sure where to put his hands when he was surrounded on both sides by red and green beauties of varying purity.
All in all a good evening's entertainment.

It was the same v Chonburi at their place, plenty of chances but couldn't take them and ended up losing a game we should have got something out of. I'm looking forward to seeing those half time photos. And as for my hands, I think they were best placed covering my modesty

Not sure how much to read into this.... but today my wife was congratulating Christian on his superb performance yesterday and this was his reply: I'm not sure why he would tell my wife this so publicly, but if there is any truth in it... The Englishman... know anything about it??

Nonthaburi fans are delighted with the league cup draw. Eka won't be pushovers either, they are one of the richer and better run clubs in L2 and include ex-internationals in the first team. On the downside, not many people at the club speak English - I haven't had the chance to introduce myself to the farang coach yet - and I'm worried that they are so focused on the idea of big name players and Bunny Girls on the pitch that they don't comprehend the number of fans BG will bring. They seem to think it will be the same number as your average D2 team. Safety shouldn't be an issue as there is actually lots of open space around the pitch where almost any size crowd can stand and watch (for free) but I do worry that a lot of paying fans won't be able to get their usual seat, or will have to queue for ages, or the stand itself will be overcrowded. If the latter were the case, safety could then be an issue after all because it's a raised stand.

I'm really looking forward to it. I'm not sure how many are planning on going, but we always have a lot of away support no matter who the opposition. I'm sure everyone will be very friendly. My only experience with D2 so far has been a few BG friendlies most notably Ratchaburi away which was awesome. (I played in their stadium too against their fanclub). Other than that, I have been to a few Rose Asia matches, and you don't get more lo-so than that!!

Yeh that's one of the good things about living out here - 'low so' or 'rough' areas aren't always full of people who want to kick your face in or sell you drugs. Nonthaburi fans have absolutely no airs or graces - they are similar to Thai Port fans - but are fine people.
On that note Andy you might want to be aware: Nonthaburi have a large gay following, you may be even more popular than the Bunnies :-)

hahaha.. Speaking of which, I was on the way back at half time with the bunnies on wed, when a bunch of drunk (but very friendly) MTU fans stopped us and wanted their photo taken. The bunnies seemed quite put out that it was me they wanted the photo with and not them. I think they were taking the piss out of me, but it was all harmless fun and they gave me a beer afterwards And you might be interested in this... Well, I was glad that a late request to join me to watch a game on Wednesday from a work colleague, led to cancelled plans to go & watch Thai Port as the game at Muangthong was outstanding at times. Very very impressed by Bangkok Glass' away support and if Samuel Gbenga Ajayi had finished off that mesmerising dribble in the second half by putting the ball in the net, those in attendance would have witnessed one of the goals of the season. Certainly haven't seen a run like that by a Sunderland player in a long time!!
Nonthaburi v Bangkok Glass looks like an attractive local cup game on paper, as does Samut Prakan v Muangthong. What are the chances of the PL teams fielding strong teams in this competition?

Kawin is such a modest and focused guy. It might sound cheesy but I'm sure a lot of that has to do with his Mum, who is also totally unassuming and friendly. I hope he can keep that quality when he goes on to bigger and better things as he will surely do.

I think we will field a decent team cos we have thrown the league and FA cup away. We could really do with doing well in this. We don't have else much to aim for except 4th place to qualify for the Super Cup and the Singapore cup which isn't until October anyway. Ajayi is awesome when he is on fire. That really would have been goal of the season but It's a real shame he can't finish. 10 assists (in all comps) and only 4 goals this season says it all really. but this is when he get's it right:

Yeah, he was. He was deep and got moved out to the left in the 2nd. I spoke to his Dad afterwards and he said he picked up a bit of a knock. He didn't look to impressed when he came off though. He linked really well with Ajayi against Army and when he came on v TOT. I'd like to see that too, it's where he is best. He should be fit for today. I'll look out for ya, but you'll probably see me before I see you

It was a hard fought victory for Bangkok Glass today. The first goals for each side were both from set pieces and were more or less identical. At 1-1 the game could have gone either way but BG finished the stronger to take the 3 points. Sadly the talking point of the game would be the incident after BG's 2nd goal when the play was held up for 5 mins due to a crowd disturbance . As Andy Gray would say "It was only handbags" but it's not what we want to see at Thai football matches.

How did you guess SRS Pattaya fans are notorious for throwing their toys out of the pram when things don't go there way. They did it when we played away too, but this time it was directed at the officials by blocking them in the dressing rooms after the game. A minority of them were complete morons today. The majority weren't exactly friendly either, bar one or two.

I don't know what they did to upset her, but a saw her have a tantrum and throw her camera away. Overall though the atmosphere was good inside the stadium. I've always found the BG fans good natured and friendly.

Something else happened at half time during the 'friendship gift swap' between the two fan clubs also. They were apparently disgusted with our gift and wanted more and tried to snatch the scarf off of my wife. They were extremely rude and used a lot of profanity according to our fan club president. --- As for us, yes... I've said it many times to the other guys. We are a really friendly club, within our own fans and too others too. We have great relations with most teams, it's something we really pride ourselves on. In a way, I would like a bit of heat and rivalry with a team. Pattaya are trying their hardest to make them our rivals... although I'm sure they have many. Anyway, nice meeting you 2 today... Are either of you 'on board' yet?

How many fans did they bring today? Their turnout at our place a couple of weeks ago was very poor. OK, it was a Wednesday night game but it's only 40 minutes up the road. Tero brought more last Wednesday.
Nice to hear how graciously they accepted your gift.

Not many... I'd say 100 - 150 at most. One of the lowest turn outs for away support at our ground so far. I'm not sure who I dislike most : Pattaya for their fans... Samut Songkhram for their players or Buriram PEA for their...... mascot

I would say there were about 150 Pattaya fans at the game today. As for being on board, I wouldn't say we are, but we both bought a BG polo shirt today. :

Btw I didn't realize Sutee was signed for BG. I used to watch him years ago playing for Thailand along side Zico and co. I haven't seen him playing for BG lately. Is that because he injured or is it to do with loss of form?

Injured. He has been out for about 3 months now. Not sure when he will be back, the last time I saw him was when Byrney signed, haven't seen him since. He was our best player by far in the first half of the season. --- Well you've got one foot on board That's a start

Ajayi is awesome when he is on fire. That really would have been goal of the season but It's a real shame he can't finish. 10 assists (in all comps) and only 4 goals this season says it all really.
Just watched a replay of the Pattaya game, and the commentators said the same thing in the first half when Ajayi missed from close range in the first half. I thought of it again when he set up Saruta perfectly for the 2nd. Good to see he got on the scoresheet in the end, to top off a fine game. That last goal was class, Saruta's pass was perfectly timed, weighted, and placed, and Ajayi's finish was top-notch as well.

Yes, again yesterday, as on Wednesday, Ajayi was fantastic (especially first half)... except for the vital ingredient. Luckily he did get on the score sheet, his performances recently really deserve more goals. I'm certain, if he could ever finish what he creates, he'd be the best player in the league by far. Shame Mike was suspended, he has linked well with Ajayi so far and they looked good together. And yes, good to see Saruta showing a bit of form too Great through ball.

He's certainly one of the most exciting players in the league. Hopefully he can develop a good partnership with Byrne. I'm not convinced that the Thai number 29 is the right partner for Ajayi.

It comes as no surprise that there's an element of Pattaya's following keen on trouble. Couldn't really see if the few westerners that were with them got involved or not, so I won't make any unfair comments in that area.
Last year Pattaya's expat community entered a team in the 2nd division of the local Bangkok farang league. It took them all of 5 minutes and half a dozen off the ball challenges to instantly become everyone's least favourite team.
Maybe some people on this board live in Pattaya. No disrespect intended, but the place is a sewer in many respects.

Am I on board? Although it's a fair trek from Jatujak I'm beginning to enjoy most things about a day out at the Leo Stadium. Yesterday's game softened the blow of watching Sunderland perform very poorly later in the evening. As others have mentioned there is a friendly atmosphere there, plenty of smiles and the crowd get behind their team whatever the score. One very minor point concerns the selling of beer. Each ground seems to have different policies - plastic cups, plastic bags, no beer at all. I'm all for a bit of exercise to keep fit, but it would be nice if they sold beer inside Leo Stadium, especially when you're watching from the 3rd tier

They were mostly all standing in the left hand side if you are facing it. Re: Getting beer... Yeah, it's a bit of a trek up & down that 3rd tier. But, be thankful it's not Buriram... as an away fan, you can't even take water in a plastic bag into their stadium. You can always empty a 10 bottles of Leo into a Tesco's carrier bag and drink it through a straw

Newin's rent-a-province franchised team (Buriram) is an exception to all rules. I expect you can take water in if they pay you take it in!
Back on topic ... am I right in thinking there is a game against TSW Pegasus from Hong Kong on Wednesday evening? Friendly, right? Don't think I'll be going to that as the missus is back from Dubai on Wednesday for just 24 hours and the chances of dragging her to a game of football are .... well let's just say you've got more chance of seeing Rooney or Ronaldo signing for BG before the Nonthaburi league cup game.
Any whispers on where the Nonthaburi game will be played? Seems like they're dragging their feet in announcing where the game will be played. I'm assuming Nonthaburi's ground is not big enough to accommodate the numbers expected. Yamaha?
Off topic again ... oh bugger! Newcastle just scored a 4th goal. Has the world stopped spinning?
