Seriously though, I knew for ages that we were interested but I had NO IDEA he was actually going to sign.
I thought it was dead in the water after MTU's interest. It shocked me too, when I saw him sitting with Sutee.

On Monday, as many MTU fans were, I was sure he was a Muang Thong player. Muang Thong fans were even posting pics of him in their shirt. I had ruled it out completely.

It seems, he was always going to leave for what ever reason. Muang Thong did all the hard work by unsettling him and we picked up the pieces.

As for the French and American guys. The French one may still happen too, but probably not now after this.

I've just read about it. Hmmm. I'm not sure that we'd want him now. I was disappointed that we missed out at the start of the season but he's hardly set the league alight!

No great loss, apart from 2 or 3 games after Carlos took over, he has been lazy, and pretty poor really.

Maybe he will do better if he goes back to CFC, he always said that he loved his time there and had many friends in the area.

Good question. I never understood why they good rid of him, I was (and still am) a fan of his. Ponawat (now TOT) was another one too. I know those departures are the reason Tanat fell out with management that ultimately saw him dropped this season and packed off to Bkk Utd.

There are only 7 former Krung Thai players left (Ajayi, Supachai, Amnart, Sarun, Peerapong, Klisana & Anawin) and I know Supachai and Amnart are looking over their shoulders.

Pavin (chairman) told me recently that attitudes had to change, that is why there has been a huge clearout, so all I can take from that is that some players were in a Krung-Thai clique and were unhappy with the changes taking place around the club, I am also aware that some of these players did not respect previous manager Surachai and he felt unable to control them (the real reason he stepped aside). I managed to pluck up the balls to tell Khun Pavin that I thought letting Tanat go was a mistake, but he made it clear that he admired Tanat as a footballer but not as a person.

As for the Singapore cup. At the start of the season, I thought it was a bad idea to be re-entering it as it would hinder out TPL chances, but we managed to balls the TPL up before our 1st SC game.

Now BG are promoting this game highly. They are making a big build up of it already and providing all sorts of packages for fans to go and watch it. They are even considering paying for the Rabbit girls and BG Man to go . They see the whole SC as good international PR for the club and I know we have a fanbase in Singapore already after last years exploits. Footballing wise, it also seems as if we are putting all our eggs into this now.

I think the club will settle for top 4 (and super cup qualification) as long as we win a cup (Singapore or Toyota).

We really need to make a very decent challenge for the league next season, but I wouldn't be surprised if we enter the SC (or something similar) again next year as the focus does seem to be on making ourselves known outside of Thailand as you can also see from our new signings. Also the English version of the official website should be up and running soon.

I really like that professional attitude of BGFC. However, I think in the end it's maybe all about money. Well, not at all. From what I have leanred over the past weeks, and Vinniie was talking about in the Oso thread, there are only 3 Clubs with Big Money. BGFC, MTU and PEA. All the others are falling way short.

An attitude like the ones from BGFC and MTU too, are may good for the league. But having only 3 clubs with big money, the gap will get bigger and bigger. And so we may have a boring TPL like the Scots League, La Liga or even EPL. Would be sad to see this coming.

It's all a far cry from our exploits in the Singapore Cup. For the semi final second leg, fifteen of us travelled to Don Muang in two pick-ups, armed with suitcases full of noodles and beer. We kipped at Changi airport on our arrival (or at least tried to) before making our way to the stadium.

For the final itself, we splashed out and rented two rooms at a local youth hostel (for twenty of us) and travelled to the stadium in taxis. However, after the match, we had to walk back to where we we staying because all the taxis and public transport had stopped running.

it's a pity that he hasn't played a match for the country yet, also it's quite funny that a former AFC Champions League topscorer is from Thailand and has never made a cap yet!

These are interesting times for Thai domestic football. Obviously a lot of big investors are throwing a lot of money around in the hope of finding success. However, the very nature of the sport means that only a few will actually be successful. How many of them will stick around when the going gets tough?

I'm really proud of the fact that Chonburi have grown organically and haven't had to rely on the quick fix methods of virtually all the other clubs who are currently in the TPL - buying their way in, moving to a new city every season etc etc.

Last Saturday was possibly one of the most enjoyable matches of the season so far. It was a meaningless friendly played in front of a small crowd but almost everyone in attendance were people who have been going for years. It was so nice to sit amongst a group of friends, watch the football and have a few drinks, just like the old days.

I wonder how many other clubs have such a following? We have a history and shared experiences, which have created bonds that extend beyond football. We're unique and have solid foundations. And I am extremely proud of that. Everyone else has a long way to go before they can say the same.

Bravery or stupidity?? It's a fine line, but the club make it worth my while to wear it

I can fly, I just don't like to show off. Actually I nearly did end up flying (or to be more precise, falling) off the big stand during the last game... I was 'accidentally' a tad too tipsy to say the least.
