Nantawat Tansopa, Kassim Koné, Ajayi Samuel, Hironori Saruta and now Ney Fabiano... Maybe too much strikers no?

I heard that they were also interested in Anon Sangsanoi and Sutee Suksomkit but i don't think they will take them now. Let us Anon!!!

Kone Kassim plays holding midfield these days and Saruta is a winger. Sutee will be joining in January. But yes I do worry about the balance in the side, very attacking. Not everyone can play for sure.

Looks like a done deal. Sutee signed with BKK Glass.  Cry
He was realy getting one of my fav thai players. I watched all matches of him in the A-League. ...and now this... Cry Cry Cry Cry

http://www.bangkokglassfc.com/webboard/index.php?showtopic=4980

But looks like also that they had been very quick. Cause Sutee made his last match for Melbourne just yesterday.

Yeah, I'm usually quite pessimistic regarding the teams/sports peoples chances of success that I follow, no matter what sport it is.... but in this case I think (and hope) you are right.

As an England football and cricket fan, an Oldham Athletic fan and a Lancashire cricket fan. I can identify with that. Smiley

As regards BG, based on what I've seen so far, you should go all the way. Ney Fabiano was a huge success when he was at Tobacco Monopoly a few years ago and will no doubt relish his return to the TPL. And Suttee will make a big difference. Two quality signings and you seem to play well as a team.

I think you can probably relax and enjoy the ride.

The Blue indeed looks good. But the green one isn't a nice design.

In agreement about the shirts, The away one is far better. Not overly impressed that they have 6 sponsors on them in total and the fact they have nearly doubled in price since last season.

Ticket prices STILL haven't been announced but I'm guessing that they will be 80-100 baht, if the doubling of prices is anything to go by.

As for the scoreboard... I'm saying nothing Wink

Well BGB we didn't get to meet up but I still got to see you, even when you were shouting at Piyachart to get back from the corner in the 90th minute :-)

In terms of atmosphere, the 2nd half was the best atmosphere I have ever experienced at any game anywhere in the world... Truly a day I wont ever forget.

A very entertaining second half was completely ruined for TV viewers by that most annoying Thai TV habit of breaking for commercials every 60 seconds or so. I don't think I'll bother watching any more games on Channel 7.

I'm assuming that there are plans to build a fourth stand? Not that there's anything wrong with three sided grounds. Wink And is that 80's style fencing in the away end going to remain?

I thought you were gonna say 'A very entertaining second half was completely ruined for TV viewers by zooming in on farang who looked like he'd just escaped from the nut house' or something Wink

As for the stadium. The 'away' end, isn't actually the away end. There is a section of 500 reserved for away fans in the main stand, but we gave that temporary North stand to MTU as well giving them almost 1,500 and will probably do the same with your mob too. It's only temporary as the plan is to have the same as the Warren Stand replicated at that end too at the end of this season, but currently there are houses owned by BG just behind that stand, hence the fence to protect the houses from Michael Byrne's shots Wink (cheap dig, but he's been giving me stick for a while).

As for the forth side. Yes, plans are in place but Isuzu own the land and are holding out for 170 million baht, so nothing can be done until we get the land...

Don't be surprised to see Isuzu as our main sponsors next season Wink

Final capacity is predicted to be 17-20 thousand if all goes to plan, but it's still a long way off, and like I said to Greg.. Thailand and plans go together like chalk and cheese.

BG 0 Sarabauri 0

Very similar to the Chonburi V SS game. BG dominated for large spells but Saraburi did threaten on the break.  BG came agonisngly close on several chances but started to tire midway in the second half IMHO. This is a good result from the view of an MTU fan but I expect BG fans will be seriously disappointed.

Once again, in a friendly, BG turned on the style thumping a nearly full strength BEC Tero 5 - 0.
Starting to get very concerned as to why we can't do it when it matters and yet we play attractive free scoring football in friendlies.

When we moved to St Mary's we had a terrible run of form. Two rumours emerged - 1) The ground was an old druid's burial site and 2) The builders were from Pompey (true) and had buried a Pompey shirt under the centre circle (possibly true).

We had a 'white witch' druid attend the ground and perform some kind of ritual. We won our next game at home and Strachan told the BBC: "Next week she's playing up front for us"! :-)

I know we've sort of hi-jacked the BKK Glass thread (BGB did start it!) but things buried under pitches is a favourite Danny Baker category. Remember the railway engine that is supposedly buried under Wembley?

And to bring it back on topic - I'd loved to have seen the monks blessing a plastic pitch. Smiley

Just for you Dale  Tongue

To my knowledge there are no gypsies, Cambodian witches or anything under the pitch. Wink

Although, the whole of the bangkok glass industry has to be moved. The neighbouring village (that I used to live in) won a case against noise violations against the factories. So they are moving the whole lot to Ayutthya.

It won't affect the Stadium which is within the industry grounds but the area vacated is going to be turned into a huge sports complex around the stadium.

Well, that's the plan anyway..

Thai Port resorted to similar measures after our disastrous start to the season - which was nothing to do with playing badly of course! A few of the players & fans went to the Suphachalasai shrine to ask for forgiveness from 'Luang Suphachalasai' for the damage done to the Stadium at the Kor Royal Cup. Since then we've won 6 out of 9 games! Coincidence or not?!  Cheesy

What I like about these comments is the example of positive side effects of having a local football team - it encourages more interest and knowledge of local government and local history as well as local loyalty. In time, that can hopefully, bring greater public input and research in these same areas.
Obviously we are the guests here, so I'm thinking of the Thai fans when I say this.

Can't believe it's 1st vs 2nd. Don't know how we have managed to get to 2nd even if we have played more than most..

Certainly makes it interesting, if it wasn't interesting enough already.

I just realised our results are exactly the same as last seasons against the same teams so far (baring the 3 wins against the promoted teams).

Pattaya away 2009 draw 2010 draw, Songkhram away 2009 lost 2010 lost, Osot home 2009 draw 2010 draw, Muang Thong home 2009 win 2010 win, TOT away 2009 lost 2010 lost.

So you know what that means Dale Wink Wink Pair that up with 4 wins from 4 and you've got an away banker on the cards Wink

...

...

...

Seriously, I am NOT confident at all and think we might get a hiding.

Seriously, I am NOT confident at all and think we might get a hiding.

Maybe a key issue here will be, in which condition the CFC lads will arrive from South Africa. Tired, Jetlag all these stuff.

SRS, are you able to crab a ticket for me? Or will it be ok, if I do buy the ticket right before the match?

I'll get you one. Just to be on the safe side. Smiley

Thanks for your kindness SRS Smiley

Sadly it seems that Tanat is being forced out of BG as he hints at in my interview.

He is rightly very unhappy that he has been overlooked this season. In my view he was player of the year for BG last year and he is my favourite player next to Supachai. I for one will be gutted if he goes, but rumour has it that management do not want him and he knows it.

There is a player (whom I wont name) who seems to have Tanat's position taken despite being a hugely inferior player.

And also like Tanat, I never understood why we let Nantawat go and I still don't.

I don't know who is making these decisions this season but a lot of them are puzzling and frustrating.
