TOT have signed Thai midfileder Issawa Singthong from Vietnam side An Giang.
He was a member of the 2004 Asian Cup side and a former player of the Royal Thai Air Force. Should bring a bit of experience to the midfield and their final push for the championship.

TOT played at the redeveloped Kanchanaburi stadium at the weekend in front of an impressive looking crowd. Is this their permanent new home?

Hopefully if it stays impressive, and probably only will with a winning team, then i'm sure they will make it their permanent home. Next stage is to give something to the locals and change that name!

TOT to play at Supachalasai according to www.thaileaguefootball.com What are TOT's long-term plans? Are they planning to permenantly settle somewhere? They have been quoted as saying that they would like to return to their old ground, which is not far from Muang Thong's "Thunderdome". I think that have plans to build new stands - Which is just as well, as all they used to have was two rickety wood and metal structures down one side of the pitch, a raised platform over the other side and no space behind the goals.. Incidentally, this is the hottest football ground on earth. It has no shade at all!

they are using Supachalasai for just 1 match as Muang Thong are using the Thunderdome and matches have to be played at the same time. Actually I wish they would move there perminently, a premier league club in Supachalasai, or that little stadium next to Supachalasai would be a great addition to the league.

Once upon a time most Thai league matches were played at those two grounds.

I would be absolutely spitting bullets (I mean, more so than usual!) if a TPL club invaded Korat. It would be nice to see the Buriram fans up in arms over this but they're small in number. How many tmes are TOT going to be allowed to do this?

Newin to be president of TOT FC? Writer: BangkokPost.com Published: 24/09/2009 at 07:12 PM Newin Chidchob, de facto leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, will be made president of the ToT Football Club, team manager Pongpan Wongsuwan revealed on Thursday. Mr Pongpan expected the club to make an official announcement next week to name Mr Newin its next president starting next football season. Mr Newin, who would become a major shareholder of the club, had talked over this matter with Warut Suwakorn, executive chairman of TOT Plc. "I personally agree to his plan to build up the team. He told me that a fund would be set aside to sign more players and the team will have the central sports stadium in Buri Ram for home games," said Mr Pongpan. Mr Pongpan added that he would not mind if the name of the team was changed provided that the initials TOT are not left out. The new name is expected to be TOT-Buri Ram, he said. Wichit Yaemboonruang, chairman of the Thai Premier Leage Co, said if this was true football in Thailand would be more lively. http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/local/155243/newin-to-be-president-of-tot-fc

Errmmmm...has anyone considered the feelings of the supporters in Kanchanaburi? Their team just ups and leaves? Newin probably fancies himself as a small time Thaksin and wants the ego trip of buying a TPL title. Vinnie, how would this move affect your club? BTW, Hasn't the schedule of the expected annoucement come and gone? If true, I guess Mr Newin is looking to win back the northeners he alienated when he switched to The Democrat Party. No doubt his team will be wearing 'Blue Shirts'

perhaps we could have sanoh tienthong getting involved as well? a real behind the scenes power that geezer
despite what vichit says having newin and his ilk, in this i include the chonburi godfathers clan, is not good for football...

TOT's tenure in Kanchanaburi was a short one, though. I'd like to see Kanchanaburi Province start a team from scratch and enter the Regional League. They've got the stadium and support to do it. I don't think the move to Buriram affects us. It's close but not that close. It'll be interesting to see if Buriram FC continue in the Regional League or whether they just merge with TOT-Buriram.

I know Newin is a major player but he doesn't have Thaksin's wealth and never quite had his level of support. I say 'small time' as in, comparing Newin's football ambitions to Thaksin's 'pie in the sky' promises to the blues of Manchester :-) Snoh is old school, I think (and hope) he has no interest in Thai football.

newin and his clan are big in buri ram. back in 95 he helped bring down the democrats and then in 97 was a major playor, allegedly , in the bbc scandal that helped kick off the financial crisis his involvment then probably put the kybosh on any bigger plans he may have had at the time as disillousment with many of the old school mob meant they had to keep a lower profile thaksin was always good at the pr, newin never built on his work in 95 i think neither really have any interest in football. just flattering their own egos. sanoh i think would find the attendant glare surrounding his ownership of a football club abhorrent. he s the ultimate king maker and prefers others to hog the limelight

Isn't moving another team into an area of existing (Divisiont II) team violating market shares?
Doesn't the Division II team already struggling to grow its fanbase?
What is the exact regualation on this?

What is said on here usually happens eventually. www.thaileaguefootball.com reports that Kanchanaburi are entering the Regional League next season as 'Muangkan' F.C. Mahasarakham seem to have been relaunched. They have a new crest which says 'since 2010' on it even though they competed in the Regional League in 2009. www.mahasarakhamcity.com

regarding Mahasarakham and the rebranding. I already saw it. And frankly speaking I don't care about this anymore. Espacially not about the year in a badge. It looks like that it is a kind of a hobby from thai clubs to rebrand their logo nearly every season. And than put the actual year into the badge. That makes it really tough to identify, how old the clubs is realy. And rebranding all the time, for me, is some kind of loosing the recognition value.

Just reading the 1st edition of the Asian football yearbook and just realised that the 1993 FA Cup winners seem to be TOT Kanchaburi, is this correct that TOT's official name was that back in 1993?
