Just one comment from me, about the above and that Buriram Fans are rice farmers with no money. Most of you guys are from Enlgand. The most tradition country and motherland of our beloved game. 100 years ago and even more the game was a game for the working class. With no money in the pocket. Neverhteless, hundreds and thousends of this class were able to attend a match and the football became eventually the most popular of our time.

If Newin is able to subsidize the kits, so that people have to pay only 250 Baht a kit, he also could subsidize the tickets. But it seems he doesnt. Instead he is paying people to chant for.

Toni, if you put some of your criticisms and/or comparisons with MTU and PEA in the MTU thread I'd be happy to respond.

Very nice. Easily the best of the new shirts I've seen so far.

It is excellent thought the back doesn't look so good with the CP logo looking out of place but they have to put that in with the cash they are getting from them. If it were any team apart from Buriram PEA/FC, TP or Chonburi I'd have to buy it!
What's the away one like?

I agree with you there Toni, i do think it's kind of the Thai way to enjoy yourself no matter where your going. For instance i could drag my wife kicking and screaming to a Buriram game but she would enjoy herself with the chanting etc, whereas I'd be more focused on the game, my highlight might be the 30 yard cracker, her's would be when everyone chanted a name in a syncorised way.

Buriram, whichever club it may be has never been talked about so much on here. But now we have Binnsy to answer questions just like we have with Greg, Dale and Andy in such threads, but with regards to them threads where you get a feel for whats happening, you get an honest opinion most of the time, here at Buriram we get the reply 'you've only done 3 posts, are you an expert?. I personally don't think Binnsy has ever answered a question and he wonders why we just keep shooting away.

All the members on here as fair as I'm concerned are very imformative, they aren't out to get anyone, they just want to understand whats happening. We think we know whats happening, but just to confirm we ask the questions, when these bounce back at us like we are attacking someone, then we know the questions we ask are correct.

No one has ever criticised the fans, the people on here who have been to there games as an away fan will criticise the club witht he way they are handled and comment on how strange it is to see the whole home support carted in, kitted out, thats never happened where i've been, but Binnsy doesn't see this as unusual, I guess i need to see Ipswich in action here, a club formed as Ipswich FC and merged with Ipswich Rugby Club, but i guess this early history doesn't matter to Binnsy, it was all before Town.

Drury,So ALL the fans who attend Buriram PEA match's are paid? Well that is total rubbish.
So ALL the fans are supplied with football shirts?Well that also is total rubbish.
IF you don't like what I post when I reply then thats up to you.

The away shirt is not in the shop yet.I hope that is a clear enough reply. If not please mail me or maybe it is only Drury who has a problem with my replies?
The Home shirt is 300 baht or 350 baht if you have a name and number on the back.

Binnsy I also sometimes have problems with your replies because I feel that sometimes you are more interested in getting a reaction than actually answering questions or seeking conclusions.

I still hope you will give us a run-down of your squad or at least tell us who to look out for.

When I am aware of the final squad names and numbers I will post the imformation that you have requested but as you are aware Buriram PEA have not been very active in the transfer department. With 5 leaving and 5 coming in.

I'll be interested to see how Kraikiat Beadtaku gets on. He was terrible in his last season at BG before he went to Chanthaburi but he had a decent career before that and must have been good at Chantaburi to get a move back to a top team. He even played for PEA back about 6 seasons ago if I'm not mistaken.

The Home shirt is 300 baht or 350 baht if you have a name and number on the back.

I'd buy one with Suchao on the back. I have last years home shirt.

Felix as soon as the squad numbers have been sorted they will have them in the shop. You are aware that they have to be paid for?
Newin may be wealthy but even he does NOT give to anyone who wants one as has been stated on here by one poster(druryfire).;-).
Also it may come as a surprise we also paid 500 baht to travel to away match's which included the match ticket.

Drury I know what youre saying. Honeslty I wouldnt bother much with binnsy.

Its pretty clear its a waste of time and everyone who reads this thread understand that.

@ Loko

Please do read my posts more carefull and do not take things out of context.

When I wrote PEA I just assumed we would all understand we are talking about Buriram. It doent matter if they were PEA ayuthaya before that because obviously they have nothing to do with Buriram PEA as we see it now.  I just think its more convinient to type PEA and not have to spell out Buriram everytime I mention them.

Then... when I wrote BG, MTU and PEA are the same. I didnt mean all of these clubs are the same in every aspect. Come on dont make me look stupid... thats not fair.

I think I elaborated well how that the essense of the meaning what you quotet from was that MTU and BG fans dont go to their respective clubs because they have had a love for football all their lives and have supported other local teams before... They have also never been to football match in their lives just as have PEA ( buriram! ) fans.

They only started to go there because there was hype... and now its cool, fashionable and enjoyable. And In the respect I think they are quite similar, not to say the same... but human nature doesnt differ... wether its muang thong thani, pathum thani or buiram or does it loko?

I understand some people get paid for to attent games... however I believe in their nature theyre the same as BG and MTU... they enjoy to go there and have fun doing so! And it that respect I say they are the same and there is no difference...

At least I will say that about travelling supporters... because it doesnt matter if you get ur ticket and busride paid for... You dont sit 12 hours in a bus and spend 2 tours inside a stadium if you dont ejoy it. I havent been at buriram so I can not comment on that.

On a personal note for example.

I once took a friend of mine ( a girl ) to the away match at saraburi last year.

And now she is the biggest fan ever. Acting like she loves football and the club. In fact im pretty sure she has no idea about the clubs history or what is offside... but one thing is sure and that she likes have a MTU bumper sticker on her car... she loves to sing with the ultras because its sanook mak and she knows kawin is handsome mak mak...

She also loves BG now!

Did she have a love for football year ago? Hell no, but now she has and thats allright...Sure where I come from we would ridicule such behavior. But this is not where I come from, its thailand.

As it's been stated here before not by me first, that people are carted in, kitted out, ins't that strange? Didn't say it was everyone Binnsy did I? Maybe your just sad at missing out and have the farang issue to deal with.

As for the visa issue with Buriram PEA, I like how it's always yourself bringing it up, have you never noticed the comparisions between PEA and North Korea? All chant to the same hymn sheet, all arrive together, leave together never to be seen again until the next matchday.

You also have a dig at Munagchon, but aren't you just the same? You came on here, abused people before even knowing who we are or what our view is on the game. It's a pity you just want to control everything around you, feel very sorry for your wife.

Regarding all the synchronised chanting and dancing - the locals really do grow up with it. From kindergarten to primary school to secondary school to university - every year they have "kilaa sii" which is their sports day. This event is even held by most companies annually, including my own. So from 4 years old to 60 they have the same thing every year, year in year out, in exactly the same format- a) the kindie/school/uni/company is divided into four colours; they have a parade with a pretty girl carrying a plaque in support of their colour, they sit in segregated stands, they make banners and wrap foil around tin cans they have the drummers (same as the football - the drummers play exactly the same rhythms as they do at the games - they do synchronised chants, they have cheerleaders, they learn the chants as one and practice for weeks before the event - the chants are very similar to the Muang Thong / Buriram ones.  The sports they play at Kilaa Siii are mindless ones like chairball, egg and spoon race - totally mindless sports that would bring the school to riot mode if they tried it in Europe. The kilaa sii fans really don't take any real interest in the sports or care who wins, they enjoy the fact that they can be in uniform colours , that they know the format, they believe it's completely sanook.  We would view it as mindless. They honestly love it and feel comfortable with it.

glenn pattaya what a nice man you are i can not believe a grown man would speak about children like that, and use insulting words like THEY ENJOY THE FACT and THEY BELIEVE IT COMPLETELY SANOOK,i assume by the use of the word THEY you mean thai people,if you don't like thai people why not go back to your beloved england you horrible english racist.WE WOULD VIEW IT AS MINDLESS, you seem to use the word WE as if you are speaking for everyone on this forum, well let me assure you that this is not true, i for one find your comments RACIST and ABUSIVE.it's because of people like you that the good farang of this great country are sometimes misunderstood.please do everyone a big favor and go back to the country you come from, because with views like that your just not wanted here.

Yes... they refers to the people who take part in the sport day. THEY = thai participants in thai style sports day.

I dont see anything wrong with the word they.

Maybe Iam ignorant... I admit that.

here at Buriram we get the reply 'you've only done 3 posts, are you an expert?. I personally don't think Binnsy has ever answered a question.

When a poster (MuangChon) comes straight on here and his first two posts are stating that Buriram PEA are a Jackanory club what kind of response does he expect? as this was his/her first post and then he/she never posted again for several days.
As stated in other replies by the long standing members 'read the board'.

The reason that there are sometimes several days between my post is because I am waiting for someone to answer my questions.

These quetions still remain unanswered.

I was going to say "they have not been answered" but understand that may have caused offence to some.

Having read this post again I would like to make a comment.

Although I do not find the comments racist or abusive I must disagree a little.

I have kids in Thai Government schools and have visited the school  a couple of times to get involved in the sports days.

I do agree that the preparation, due to the loss of study time, is a bit over the top.

I have never seen an egg and spoon race.

Chair ball is a good alternative to Basketball as many of the students are not tall . Would be a bit boring watching a game of basketball that finished 2 - 0.

I think,on the whole, Thai school sports day kicks the ass out of those that I was accustomed to back in the old days.

The poster did say "They honestly love it and feel comfortable with it." I point that I feel was intended to be positive and understanding.

You can argue the comments were wrong or unfair (though I think there was a lot of truth in what Glenn said) but to say they were discriminatory on the basis of race I find very strange. I actually found the comments intended to be positive and help us understand the differences in culture.
I hope we don't get to a point where people are scared of speaking their mind for fear of being "shouted" down.

by the way I was also thinking about Glenns point regarding the behaviour of fans at Buriram. I think the point is there is a different perspective in Thailand about co-ordinating fans for sporting events. It's not seen as a control mechanism but a way to build the theatre of football. Personally I can't get over the control aspect, but I think I understand the perspective it comes from.

And I can't help but notice that anyone who criticises PEA in any way has their karma suddenly go down very quickly, even Felix. I know the whole thing is pointless anyway but that's how it tells us a lot that this happens. TBH I'm surprised Charade bothered introducing the karma thing, in my humble opinion it's not something that is required for an adult discussion of football.

Looking at my karma it is minus 6 at the last count,I have not been criticising Buriram PEA.

IMHO why has this been posted on the Buriram PEA page?
Looking at my karma it is minus 6 at the last count,I have not been criticising Buriram PEA.

I think the reason it's been posted on the PEA page is because it involves PEA in the discussion. And I didn't say *only* the people who criticise PEA have lost this karma nonsense.

Because having no method to stop this argument so I decide to block the topic until Feb 12nd . Hope you all will concentrate on football at that time . Now , there is a topic names " Argument " in " General Discussion " , just go there and continue marginal stories .

well yeah, but on the 12th feb we will then have 2 buriram threads, kind of stupid really, and you never said anything about ahving two, you said they didn't have one at all.

But why did you create this thread when all you talk about is karma? Nothing about the team at all.

I don't think you will need to Charade as there's no football speak in here, maybe you should suspend this thread and we can create another!

because i can,and the reason it started about karma is because that is where the other one ended.
