I saw the guys moving through the crowd at Buriram stadium in the stand behind the goal next to the away fans - they had satchels and were giving out money - I saw this with my own eyes. It was 100 Baht plus a small note from what I could see - maybe 120 or 150. The stand was full of school age kids, mainly still in uniform as it was a Wednesday afternoon when Pattaya played at Buriram. They showed little interest in the football to be honest.
i suggest you go and have your eyes tested, that rubbish their is no money giving out on the terraces, not before not during and not after,it has to be claimed at a later date and that section of the ground holds no HARDCORE fans,so none of them people you see were being paid.

My eyes are perfectly fine thanks. So all those school kids, still in uniform, 40-50% girls rushed to the stadium to sit out in the blazing sun because of their devotion to football. Yeah right.

You'll tell me next that it was definitely a penalty when the PEA player fell over without anyone within 5 yeards of him him for your equalising goal!!

This season which has just finished has IMHO been a good one for Buriram PEA the reason I say this is simple we Lost 1 LEAGUE GAME,1 FA CUP GAME and 1 LEAGUE CUP GAME not bad and hopefully we can get some silver next season it will be a tough task to match the record above but you can be sure that they will give it a try.

It's a very similar record to Chonburi's in 2008, when we also finished runners-up; one league defeat but too many draws. In fact, under the old two points for a win rules, we would have been champions.

We only lost four games all season, and three of those were in the Champions League.

Going one way, going the other way. It was already reported that he signed, just to say that he has no intention to leave Tampine Rovers. Later on it was reported that there where some hassel between him and Newin.

So well, let's see.

We could see Pipat Tonkanya in orange next season, as he tries to gain a spot at PEA by possibly appearing in Newin's "little team", Buriram FC

Looks bad, although the camera doesn't catch the lead-up to the fall. Typical "1 camera at the ground" coverage of the TPL.

There are 5 Burriram PEA players from this season just gone who have been released and they have been offered contracts with Buriram FC.

Are these loans or actual transfers? Or is this an additional 5 players?

My (admittedly rough) interpretation of that article was that PEA's coach felt Pipat could still have a future at PEA, but was being given an opportunity to prove himself at BFC in the meantime.

It was a joke penalty but we also suffered the same at Muang Thong so what the hell -I think every club has their fair share of these. The season is over let's look forward rather than back.

Hi Binnsy yes I was one of the fans that visited the bar - great bar and good fun - the Buriram guys were pretty friendly to us - maybe the result helped!! Next year I'll fly up though - that is one hell of a drive.

Newin denies bid for FA control
Quote

Veteran politician and Buri Ram PEA president Newin Chidchob yesterday denied a report that he was targeting control of the Football Association of Thailand.

The soccer body has faced widespread calls for major changes after recent performances by the national side suggested that the Thais are no longer frontrunners in Southeast Asia.

Last week threetime winners Thailand were bundled out of the 8th Asean Championship at the group stage for only the second time, failing to claim a single win. The failure followed on from their premature exit at the SEA Games last year in Laos, where the country was bidding for a ninth consecutive title.

Recent rumours have suggested that Newin, the de facto Bhum Jai Thai party leader, is preparing to field his confidant, Kanoksak Pinsang, in the election when Worawi Makudi's term as the FAT president comes to an end early next year.

Newin, though, responded by saying that he has never had the intention of either applying himself or putting forward someone else for Worawi's hot seat. His fourpoint statement yesterday read as follows:

1. I have never had any intention of getting involved in the management of the organisation.

2. I have never thought about fielding anyone for any post in the organisation.

3. I ask that anyone using my name with illintentions stop doing so.

4. I continue to enjoy working with Buri Ram PEA executives for the team. We remain determined to bring more success, domestically and internationally, to the club.

I saw an interesting question from Drury that went unanswered:

[Parapharsed] Will PEA fans continue to support the team if they leave Buriram or if Newin drops interest and focuses on Buriram FC?

Well if PEA win the league and enter Asia, perhaps Newin will feel that's his short-term goal accomplished and focus on the home-grown team. PEA are a corporate club after all.

So I wonder if Binnsy and other fans will stick with PEA if they move or switch sides.

I'm thinking along the lines Loko, that Buriram had no support, suddenly a rich TPL club arrives and they get loads of support. One day, PEA because they are basically PEA settled in Buriram could just move on again, what happens, the supporters continue to support PEA Sisaket or whomever or support Buriram that have always been there.

Now, I'm not really talking about the supporters who have taken money to be there but the supporters who tell us they have always loved the PEA version yet struggle to tell us any of there previous history and struggle to even tell us about the original Buriram club that has been around donkies years.

One day, PEA will move, they have the track record of it, which is hard for many of us on here to understand why some people give all there backing to a club which is basically a travelling circus. They have no reason for supporting them over Buriram themselves other than pride in saying we are rich, we are hated but we are still good enough to win things (which hasn't happened yet).

Dru, has Buriram FC been around donkey's years?

I got the impression from Vinnie's and the BFC websites, that the club was founded in 2009 and has only been in the RL the last 2 seasons.

As for the question, if BPEA leave town, the key really is whether the Chidchobs retain their ownership of BFC. If so, then BFC's star should continue to rise, and they should pick up much of the PEA support base.

If Mr. & Mrs C. also pull out of BFC, then it will depend on where they leave them. If BFC are a TPL side when the plug is pulled, then they should still get decent support. If they're Division 1 or RL, the support will drop off accordingly.

I cannot speak for other supporters(unlike some on here) but I live in Buriram and will continue to support the local teams.
The arrival of PEA in Buriram was a good thing for me as i get to watch TPL.If however  the circus :-) (Druys words)moves to Chaing Mai or Trang then i will not be a supporter but a follower of PEA to me there is a difference between a supporter and follower.

I'm pretty sure PEA will stay in Ayutthaya, but they (management) haven't quite reached full circle to see they need to include Ayutthaya in the name to develop. It will probably be changed for next season. Hope nobody minds me including it every time I refer to the team - I think Ayutthaya deserves to be in there.
The team seem to have found the missing link and are looking good for match against BG.

Binnsy, there were two clubs in Ayuthaya.

PEA and Buriram share the same fans (that's why they don't play on the same day & Karuna leads the chanting for both), the same management, the same coaches and the same players. BFC is being used as a reserve team - 7 loan players this season, 5 more next season, Pipat being offered a chance to stake a claim in a BFC shirt. Buriram has two teams, but they're being run as one club.

Also, while you're digging around in ancient history, you'll notice that PEA, like TOT and the other corporates, copped flack for moving around before this season.

In case anybody needed to be told, I never said it was wrong to have two clubs in Buriram. It's a misquote. Perhaps people prefer to talk about matters less than a year old.

Also, while you're digging around in ancient history, you'll notice that PEA, like TOT and the other corporates, copped flack for moving around before this season.

enlighten me one was PEA and the other FC ?

If you read the post Wolfman typed and you quoted, I think you might be able to understand some of the differences.
Names do not make clubs the same. Nonthaburi FC are not the same as Charlton FC.
