Plenty of fun and games at PAT Stadium also!

Thai Port won the match with a 90th minute penalty. We had 2 players sent off, Bangkok Glass had 3 sent off!

I'll be very interested to see the highlights of this one  Cheesy
What a violent match ! I don't think Nantawat was sent off , he looks like a calm player  Cry

I've just seen the highlights of Thai Port vs Bangkok Glass ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QS0E1u8CGdU&feature=channel_page ). On the first viewing the penalty decision looks harsh, but having seen this photo, you have to give full credit to the ref. Credit also should go to Jirawat Makarom for his brilliant penalty in very slippery conditions!

Thai Port have assured their fans that star striker Pipat Tonganya will return next season. The club have also announced 30 million baht sponsorship to help them join Chonburi and Muang Thong United as giants of the league.

Sounds good for Thai Port. Smiley Maybe they can get add Sutee and Therdsak too. Would be a good trio. Wouldn't it?

Wisut Bunpeng excited about I-League debut

Thursday, 29. October 2009 - M.M. Jafar Khan

Viva Kerala’s new Asian signing Wisut Bunpeng is excited about his I-League debut for the 'Men in Blue'.

He was expected to play in the match against Sporting Clube de Goa on October 29 but as the AIFF has not confirmed his registration yet, it is expected that the earliest he can make his debut will be against East Bengal on November 2.

“I am waiting to start to against East Bengal and hoping for a good performance in the I-League,” he told IndianFootball.Com.

The Thailand-born player played with the Brazilan playmaker Ronaldinho in a futsal tournament held in Bangkok last year. He is also a regular member of the Thailand Under-21 team and expects a call up for the senior squad sooner rather than later. Bunpeng was also on the rolls of the club Thai Port FC when they won the Thailand FA Cup.

“I am really happy with Viva Kerala and we have some good players here," he added. Coach Sreedharan expects a lot from the Thai player and is believed to be preparing a gameplan focusing on the 21-year old.

Can he really expect to get into the national team playing for what i can only really describe as a 'rubbish' team in India?

KUALA LUMPUR: The AFC has asked clubs taking part in next year’s AFC Champions League and AFC Cup to ensure they meet stadium requirements pertaining to floodlighting.

For ACL 2010, the stadiums of participating clubs must fulfil the minimum requirement of 1,200 lux for floodlights. They are also strongly urged to enforce an evening kick-off time.

For the AFC Cup 2010, the regulations depend on the clubs involved.

For clubs new to the competition or who have new stadiums and their floodlights are less than 1,200 lux, home matches will be allowed in the afternoon. This will be allowed only for the 2010 season.

For clubs with previous competition experience playing in the same stadium, if the floodlights fail to meet requirements, they must be upgraded to a minimum of 1,200 lux.

Does TP do have the 1200 lux?

TPFC has been drawn into Group H.

Thai Port (THA), Tai Po (HKG), Geylang (SIN), ACL Play-off 3 (East)

I think it isnt an easy task for TPFC.

I don't know about that Loko.

I actually think its been kind. Geylang and Tai Po don't set the world alight in their own country.

But as always at this level, it's going into the unknown, so away games can be very tricky.

Personally, i think East Asia is very weak once again. I can only see a West Asian winner again.

On the note of AFC Cup, can anyone tell me why Bahraini champions Al Muharraq didn't even get into the draw? The Bahraini runners up did and Muharraq, champions in 2008 have disappeared.

No he didn't. According to infos I have, he signed with TPFC. A Japenese guy in Germany translated the link for me, and it stated only that he is glad that Tampa Bay will play in the USL next year.

But my friend in Japan said that he talk about his contract with Tampa Bay in his blog. He even say that he will talk about his trip in Thailand later. Even if you don't read japanase, if you look well, his topic title is "Yes, I made it!" It means something no? I don't know who to believe...

Ok, so AFC confirmed the AFC Cup draw today, Thai Port will play:

Tai Po (Hong Kong)
Da Nang (Vietnam)
Geylang (Singapore)

The winners and runners up will meet opponents from Group F in a one legged match.

Victory (Maldives)
Binh Duong (Vietnam)
Selangor (Malaysia)
Srijwaya (Indonesia)

If Thai Port want to go far, then they really need to win the group or at least have a trip to the Maldives

Sarayoot shines in eight-goal thriller

Quote
SARABURI – Sarayoot Chaikamdee’s prolific pre-season form continued this weekend when the former Thailand international striker bagged a hat-trick in Thai Port’s thrilling 4-4 draw with Samut Songkhram as the AFC Cup 2010 qualifiers opened their Queen’s Cup campaign.

The Port Lions went into Saturday’s match on the back of an impressive 4-1 win over the AFC Challenge Cup-bound Myanmar but found themselves 2-0 down with 17 minutes of the match against the Pla Too Kha Nong (‘reckless mackerels’) played.

Jakkrit Bunkham pulled one back for Thai Port with a 34th minute free-kick before Sarayoot, who was on target in the win over Myanmar, found the net in the 39th, 47th and 67th minutes to take his individual tally to 12 goals in the past ten games.

Thai Port are next in action against Royal Thai Army on Monday before facing Queen’s Cup Group C hosts Osotspa two days later and head coach Sasom Pobprasert will be hoping to build a winning momentum ahead of their AFC Cup 2010 opener on February 24 .

Thats all quite clear to me. But my question adressed more the point that TPFC wants to invest money in that way, that are able to play their home games at PAT Stadium during the AFC campaign. So what went wrong?
