It was a nice free kick from Osotspa M-150 to equalize in the last minute. In saying that,  I thought Thai Port were the better team and should have collected all 3 points. They must regret sitting back trying to hang on to a 1-0 lead rather than go for the kill.

Q: Will next Wednesday's Police United vs Thai Port fixture break the record for the latest ever kick off time in TPL history? It's starting at the outrageous time of 7:00pm Grin.

I have vague memories of the matches played at Princess Srindhorn during the "Roadshow Season (2005)" kicking off at 5:00pm and 7:00pm but I'm struggling to remember any other games starting this late.

On a related note, the last round of TPL fixtures in the 2007 season were all scheduled to kick off at 3:30pm on a Tuesday!! Ridiculous.

TPFC really deserved the 3 points. Sure they sat back, but did their counter attacks. They only missed to hit the net.

Anyone know where I can find a link of the oscar winning performance by the Thai Port player about 10 mins from the end when the ball touched his head.

I loved it, it made me wet myself laughing. I want to keep a copy to cheer me up when I'm in a bad mood.

Even the ref seemed too embarrassed for the guy to book him for diving.

1,000 Thai Port fans outside? Are there any plans to show the match on the big screen again?

Must admit that comment concerned me a little, especially as I'll be in the section right next to the away fans and where away fans go if they have sold out their own space.

If MT aren't expecting a full house (see t_e's post above) then it's possible that Thai Port will get more tickets. They made more available to us the week before our match earlier in the season. It would make sense.

I don't know if anybody has made a mention about this

Yesterday Thai Port FC beat Indonesian Port team 6-2 in the 10th ASEAN Port Cup (I think that's what it's called in English  Undecided) at PAT Stadium

earlier the team played 3 matches winning all 3 but the Indonesian team lost 1 (1-0 defeat against Thai Port)

I have not heard of most of the players that featured in this match, likely to be Thai Port's reserve team.

the Thai team was: Viroj Petchdorn (Anupat Sripatcharanon), Ittiphol Nonsiri, Patsakorn Dara, Pongsakorn Dara, Kittisak Tanasuwan, Nirut Kamsawat, Piyapan Chaba, Atorn Sai-ngam (Abhisit Kaikaew), Jetsada Phulek (Pichet Bumrungprichasit), Narongluet Samarnpan, Pongpipat Kamnuen (Adul Luegijjana)

basically I translated all these names from thai into english so spellings of some players' names will be different.

in this match, Nirut Kamsawat scored 4 goals (13th, 15th, 37th, 71st minute)
other scorers for the thai team were Jetsada Phulek (29th minute) and Abhisit Kaikaew (91st minute)

for the indonesian team (player names were also translated into english by me): Augustinustire Hatato (47th minute) and Adul Luegijjana (OG 79th minute)

Thai Port players that featured and this game are mostly reserve and youth players I think but several players in the senior team including Jetsada Phulek

I felt sorry for Thai Port tonight. The sending off for Swa-Moise was harsh. From where I was sat the 2 yellow cards looked soft. Thai Port defended really well and were only a few minutes away from getting a well earned point. If Thai Port could get a couple of decent strikers they wouldn't be far off winning the league. In my opinion Sarayoot is over-rated. He doesn't do enough for me.

The atmosphere was in and around the stadium electric. Even before kick-off both fans were mingling together and the banter was friendly. I hope that everyone was well behaved after the match.

That's a pity if it's true. I didn't see anything leaving the stadium. I headed up towards Bond St so I was far away from the crowd.

Don't be that harsh. Think about who was able to beat MTU at home at last? I cannot remember. Your game looks duplicate to the match from PU at Yamaha. I have no clue how MTU is managing this, but they are always able to win at home. At least by 1:0. Kudos for that. Its serious that time t.e.  Smiley

I wasn't being harsh at all. History shows that Port have got a bad record against Chonburi (1 win from 9) and Muangthong (1 win from 5), so that's why I see any points we get against those teams as a bonus. As a fan, you always want to win, but you have to be realistic also.

And as that win came in our first ever TPL match, it doesn't really count. Wink

I thought the sending off was a bit harsh - the MT player ran into the defender and seemed to take a bit of a detour to do so. However, MT should have had a penalty in the first half and, if had been given, the defender should have been sent off.

It occured to me today that a match between Nonthaburi and Thai Port could make for an interesting atmosphere. Similar sets of fans - no airs or graces but lots of noise and beer!

Before we move on to the next round of fixtures, may I say to Marco et al. one more time how good Thai Port were at the Thunderdome. They outplayed us for much of the first half. It was the only home game this season where it seriously crossed my mind that we could lose.

Nice 4-2 away victory for Thai Port in Rayong this evening. Should be looking for a further 3 points on Wednesday at home to TOT to keep the pressure on Pattaya and Buriram for 3rd place.

How does the suspension system work? I was surprised to see Moise playing after his red card last week. Was the suspension wavered or does it take a certain amount of days for it to begin?

Apparently it happens a lot at Rayong. Surprised they haven't had to play behind closed doors or at another venue yet. Chachoengsao played a 'home' game in Chonburi last weekend because of trouble at their previous home matches.
As I've said before, the RL seems to have its disciplinary house in order. I wouldn't say the same for the TPL.

Yep, it happened against us last season when we scored a late goal. They started the bottle throwing nonsense and started ripping up the fences. The game was held up by 15 mins. It was all aimed at the officials and not us, but it was still quite worrying. I think they were fined 100,000 baht or something but weren't made to play on neutral ground and then a couple of weeks later Chonburi were told to play at the Supachalasai for something very minor in comparison.

If I remember correctly there was a lot of trouble at Rayong/Port last year also. Two sets of volatile fans living up to their name.

Probably was, I can't remember the figure for sure...
Either way, it's an absolute pittance.

How do they get away with it?

Anything to do with the large thai mafia presence in Rayong or am I putting 2 & 2 together and getting 5? Wink

Saying all this, I do actually like both Thai Port and Rayong a lot.

So it will be interesting to see what will happen to Kasetsart and Chaiyaphum if they do really have their disciplinary house in order.

The first sign of anything approaching crowd trouble that I saw at a Thai league match also involved the Navy. We went down to Sattahip in October 2007 for a midweek match towards the end of the season. We were one up with a few minutes to play when a handful of locals ran into our section of the ground and threw a couple of water bottles at us. A group of Chonburi fans started to give chase but were held back by their fellow fans. The bottle throwers scarpered.

It does seem strange that they constantly get away with nothing more than a slap on the wrists.

The Kasetsart incident occured in a League Cup match so I guess it's not up to the RL to punish them. According to Siamsport they aren't going to be punished anyway.
As for Chaiyaphum, I'm trying to find out. I've just come off a two-week holiday so I'm a bit behind with news but I'll post any developments concerning Chaiyaphum on here.

Thai Port's next home game is against Buriram and could well be a tasty encounter.

Originally scheduled for Saturday 11th September, then moved to Friday 10th, and is now back to Saturday 11th.

Thai Port fans usually standing/seated in Zone D will have to find another spot to watch from as Buriram have requested extra away space for an estimated 1,500-2,000 fans.

Should put the gate at a healthy 6,000+ and make for a good atmosphere.

Don't know. I thought it was a good move to bring Thai Port's game forward 24 hours as they have the AFC game during the following midweek, but they have switched it back to 11 Sept. The 'Buriram' influence or another reason???

'Buriram', and 'influence' in the same sentence?!?!? Take your tinfoil hat off. Next you'll be making comparisons to Pyongyang and North Korea, and claiming their crowds are paid to watch them play. Wink

(actually given Buriram have 7 0-0 draws in 22 games, I'd want to be paid to watch them too)

I'm just guessing here but perhaps MTU have been allowed to switch their game to the 10th as their AFC game is away in Syria on the 14th. Thai port are at home on the 14th so I reckon that could be why they have to play on the 11th against Buriram.

That is interesting news about the possible takeover.
Do you think it's a real possibility? It would certainly set you up nicely for next season if it is true.

Wink

However, you may find a few clubs will raise the issue if "foreign" investors are allowed to own 70% of a Thai club.

No wanting to rain on TP's parade but it sounds  a little too good to be true. What would motivate a Spanish business to invest in Thai footie to that sum? How would they make a profit? As Dale said, other clubs will scream blue murder if a foreign group are allowed to buy 70%

There'd soon be Arabs and Russians lining up to buy Thai football clubs if (a) this were true and (b) it was really going to happen. Is the idea perhaps to buy the ground and then turn it into a condo with a football pitch on the top???

I'm just dreaming here, but if it went ahead and they started selling a decent Spanish brew instead of that Cheers rubbish to wash down platefuls of paella, then I'd be a regular visitor!

Somehow I can't see the Klong Toey Army queueing for their half-time paella and a glass of sangria.  Grin
