There are some changes to the webboard at www.thaileaguefootball.com . I thought it best that a Thai football forum in English was centralised and kept here so I was thinking of trying something new over at Thaileague

This entry doesn't really make much sense as the above post was edited. It mentioned having a dual language forum, so Thai and English speaking fans can converse.

Quote
Thai Port fans chat with UK fan club

Is that me?

I think it's a good idea...The Thai Port fans I have been chatting with in English have been full of useful information. For someone like me who can't read Thai, getting news from them is pretty much the only way I can find out the latest goings on at the club.

Nige, you should get the P.E.A thread going on this forum. The BEC Tero, Thai Port and Chonburi threads are getting quite a few posts. The silence from Ayuttaya is deafening Grin. Has your mate Falcao come back to the club?

Yeah I know, there just hasn't been anything positive to report with PEA in recent times... but I have one thing I can put up now.
By the way my apologies for not providing credit to the posts I used from here

There's so much going on with Thailand clubs that I am having difficulties sorting them out.
It even more confusing trying to read it in Thai on the sister site.(Thailandsusu.com)

So, how is PEA any way?

I'm playing with a new feature on the website --
Match Day Live, including a live chat room, live scores and links to televised matches. It may be of use for people wanting to keep updated and interact during matches.
http://www.thaileaguefootball.com/index.php?lay=show&ac=article&Id=83034

by the way the chatroom can be embeded on any other website or blog too.

NigB, just for your information. People from outside of Thailand most probably from outside of Asia, are not able to surf to the Siamsportswebsites including the livestream. I guess the reasons are some legal issues, cause the siamsport webistes do have content of the EPL, Bundesliga und La Liga.

The work around for this problem is simply, by using a proxy server.

I used http://www.tvchannelsfree.com/watch/4189/NbT-TV---Thailand.html as well as Marco. But over the last weeks non of those channels had been wordking for us. I am quit sure that the http://sstv.siamsport.co.th/live/index.asp is working.

I also know for sure that the siamsports websites had been working last year. Or at the beginning of this season. So as mentioned using a proxy should solve the problem. I found that out by chance this weekend. I provided this solution to Marco, and it is working for him fine too.

For the AFC Cup, I have no idea. As I am in the office, I need to use a livescore website anyway.

Hmmm, it seems the above sites don't have an option for Linux users, as it requires Mac/Windows software. I'll try and use my windows emulation software but I'm probably out of luck.

EDIT: For other Linux users, I managed to stream NBT by opening gxine, selecting 'open mrl' and pasting in the NBT mrl (mms://mms.prd.go.th/nbttv).
Now to see if that works for other streams.

Hi Mates,

as may some of you had been already aware of, I finally launched my own website now. This website will inform about everything what is related to Thai Football. As far as I am aware of, it is the first website related to thai football outside of Thailand , and it will be in German only.

Announcing this, I would like to ask all of you, who may concern running a blog or website, whether I can use the contents from your sites.

I plan to translate a few of your articles into German language. You will receive the full credit as author, with a link to your sites. And I will handle you as a guest commentator. E.g. I plan to translate the 3 part article from Greg with his thoughts about thai football. But will tread this as a guest commentator.

Today I started the news section, with a pre report of the FA Cup Final. More content will be added within the next days. A few links are still blank at the moment. If you like to know what Iam writing about, use google. I tested it already and at least it works out to 80 to 90 percant, I would say, so that you are able to understand what I am writing about.  If you like. Of course, some special German words, are not possible for translation. Wink

I would appreciate if all of you can agree, and I like thank all of you for your support in advance.

Sure you can. Many moons ago I had a German girlfriend from some town called Ahrunsburg and I was good at German in school too, let's see if I can remember any of it.

I will link to your site too. Obviously it will be better if you have music by Rammstein and pictures of some hot German women in it ( I can't think of any examples!).

Seriously, well done :-)

Today I was interviewed by a big German Football Magazine, called 11Freunde(11Friends). I am a regular reader of the print issue since years. And so they got notice of me cause of the Goktan Interview I translated for Greg. Anyway, they made an interview with my about my website and the thai football. It will be posted on their online issue 11Freunde.de by end of this week. I hope I was able to represented the thai football scene in favour of all of you.

Here's my friend Sophie's translation of Loko's interview.

Eden-Like Conditions

Sven Beyrich has to be crazy. His caring work on the website www.thai-fussball.de can’t be explained otherwise. The 25-year-old about the football-developing country Thailand, “Groundhopping” and McDonald’s.

Sven you run the internet platform www.thai-fussball.de. Why?

Possibly because I am crazy about football. And there is always something new to discover in Thai football. This is just not documented enough.

But that doesn’t explain why you spend all your free time working on a homepage that reports even on the female U16 in a country where Thai boxing is the national sport.

That’s true. In 2002 I came to Thailand for the first time and I fell in love with this country straight away. Literally- because I’ve got a Thai girlfriend. Most of the football fans don’t even know that football in Thailand even exists. I do want to change that.

What clinched it for you to fill this information gap?

Even on my very first trips to Thailand I always wanted to know where the next club is playing and when the next day of matches is. The legacy of my “Groundhopping” time. But in these days you couldn’t find anything about the local football business, the clubs didn’t make any advertisement, newspapers almost only reported about the English Premier League and nobody knew when the games took place. This has been improved during the last years. But most information is only available in Thai…

… which shouldn’t be a problem for the Thai population.

Of course not. But you should never forget that many Germans work and live in Thailand. Besides, many Germans go on holiday to Thailand every year. By now, people from Thailand message me and  thank me for my website.

Actually, what do you mean with “Groundhopping Time”?

In my mid-twenties I lived in Dusseldorf and one of the outstanding advantages of this region is that you can watch a football match almost every single day. With my boys from Fortuna I was en route almost every single weekend.

Ok, so you are a fan of Dusseldorf?

Oh no. My Heart has belonged to Lok Leipzig for almost 20 years now. When the Vfb Leipzig was on the way, I was with them for sure.

What is your regular occupation?

I live in Munich and work in the IT branch.

How fitting!

This is my standard answer: As an operator of a website for Thai football I unite my 3 passions- computer, Thailand and football.

What makes the Thai football so interesting?

Mainly the closeness to the players.  In the high leagues this closeness got lost long ago. After the match you can easily go on the field and talk to the players, everything is much more fan-friendly and familial. Eden-like conditions for old-school  football fans.

How is the atmosphere on the stands?

Very peaceful and enjoyable. After the final whistle you drink beer and celebrate together. Although you have to say that the whole football culture, as well as football itself, still is in its infancy. In case of football, Thailand still is a developing country.

And with your website you do developing work in Germany?

Amongst others, that’s what I’m trying to achieve with this website.

What is the pendant to the German Stadiumwurst (=stadium sausage) in Thailand?

Concerning this matter, the Thai football needs to progress as well.  So far, everybody brings their own food and beer is served in a plastic bag with crushed ice. The national team strangely concluded a contract with McDonald’s. Now all we can do is hope, that Hamburgers won’t become No. 1 food in the stadiums.
