A B C D E BEC TERO Navy-Rayong Krung Thai TOT Osotsapa Port Authority Chula Utd Tabacco Bangkok Uni Nakhon Prathom Racha Pracha Airforce Police Army Rachavithi Pattaya Utd Faifa-Ayutthaya Samut Songkram Suphanburi Haaka The last team listed is the host. The tournament will be held from 1st to 8th Feb. Why do Chonburi seem to get through to the final phase without qualifying?
And, is this the Queen's Cup that was last played in 2006 and won by Royal Thai Navy?

I guess they play at the ground next to the indoor stadium. The same which will be their homeground for the season. As the make some renovations, it should work I think. |

Yeah, I wonder about the dates if Faifa win the group and go to the final. The ACL has to be the priority, maybe they will just field a 2nd team as they are just after match practice with the Queens Cup. The winner of this tournament will get 300 000 baht, the finalist 150 000. In the ACL I heard that with each match the team gets 1 400 000baht, the prestige is also there. I'm just happy to see 2009 season start. Re Pattaya Utd matches, Nong Prue stadium will be the gound used for the queens cup and the rest of this season. They promise to set up stands on all sides of the ground. The ground which is near the indoor stadium will be used next year. I guess Chonburi get to the final as they will be the host team, the other teams there will be Hanyang Uni. and Halleluiah FC from South Korea. Btw who is Haaka FC? based in Chonburi? |

Funny that, if the director doesn't know, then how will anyone else know? So, now that it seems you have been training with Chula or at least seem to have a close relationship with them, could you possibly tell us how you think they will get on this year? One other question, since Zico left the coaching ranks can you possibly tell me who took you training? This vital information you give me will enable me to update wikipedia - but please don't make uo the answers!! |

NO mate I'm not training with Chula and I don't have a close relationship with the club, I went there for a trial but they told me that they don't have coach at the moment so I was talkin to the director of the club. Yesterday I called him back and he told me to come back for a trial in the second week of February because they're close to having a new manager that's all.

I went to watch the two Group E matches. Nakorn Pathom v Osotspa was nothing to get too excited about; the highlights being, Joe blazing over from 6 yards and a NP player getting a red card after the final whistle and still continuing to abuse the ref!!
The second match was much better. SriRacha were desperately unlucky to lose. They created a number of chances and played a very tidy passing game. Of the two goals they conceded, the first was a bit of a scrappy affair, following a counter attack, and the second a very debatable penalty.
They nearly snatched a draw with an absolute screamer five minutes from time followed by sustained pressure. However, it wasn’t to be.
A decent crowd turned up for the whole afternoon and evening. I’d guess around 1,500/1,700. Which is pretty good.

BEC Tero snatched victory from the jaws of defeat with an equaliser during injury time. They went on to win it on penalties 5-4. A very entertaining match. Both sides trying to play football. However, the Osotspa players spent a lot of time rolling around on the floor  On the balance of play I'd say that Tero just about deserved it but Osot had enough clear cut chances to wrap it up when they were one up. Sri Racha were extremely unlucky. They played some good football and created a lot of good chances. The whole match was played at a frightening pace. Even more remarkable when you consider that for a lot of the players it was their fourth game in eight days. A decent turnout. I'd say about 1,500 up again. So it's on to Sirinthorn. I can't wait  |

Chonburi 2 Malay Hanyang 1 A good start for the hosts. Possession wise and chance wise we dominated the match. However, we gave away a sloppy goal on 35 minutes and then had a mad 10 minutes before half time, when we could have gone further behind. Midway through the second half I thought that it wasn't going to be our day but Zico introduced Arthit and Adul. We seemed to step up a gear and two goals in a minute about 20 minutes from time saw us run out comfortable winners. I only stayed for the first half of Tero v KTB but it looked like an entertaining affair. KTB should have been one up inside the first minute but for a poor effort. Strange scheduling. I thought that the Chonburi match should have been played second. A lot of fans arrived at half time (we kicked off at 4:15) and then left at the final whistle. There was also a mass exodus at half time of the Tero v KTB match which meant they were playing to virtually an empty stadium for the second forty five. Surely it would have made more sense to play the matches the other way around. Fair play to the Tero fans who made yet another trip to Chonburi province. That's five times already during this tournament. With at least two more to come. They made a fair bit of noise and looked very colourful with all their banners and flags. It was great to see Chonburi in competitive action again |

A fair summry, Vinnie. I thought we started brightly enough but KTB worked hard on closing us down. I thought we passed the ball well and looked comfortable in possession. The players seem a lot fitter and sharper this season. Arthit's free kick was a cracker. I didn't think that we deserved to lose so I was grateful when it went in. It's all set up nicely for the match against our deadly rivals on Tuesday. There'll be a good atmosphere (again!!) for that one |

What can I say?! I thought that Chonburi were outstanding tonight. I don't think the fact that both teams had already qualified had any bearing on the performances. Zico has proved that he is a top coach and the players have responded. I can't wait for the season to start |

I think that the following weekend will be left free because of the Songkran break. I expect that the Chonburi match will be postponed due to the fact that they will be playing in AFC Cup on the 7th. |

Disappointed to have lost in the semis but no real complaints.
Our passing game fell apart in the second half. Maybe due to tiredness; 4 matches in 8 days for a lot of the players and all our internationals have just returned from a pretty busy few weeks.
Good luck to Hallelujah tonight. I'll probably be there, if only in the hope of seeing a repeat of the Korean team's half time routine. Truly incredible!! In forty plus years of watching football I can honestly say I've never seen anything quite like it.

Congratulations to Hallelujah. A decent game and an enjoyable way to spend a Sunday evening. It was nice to see Tero taking their Arsenal connections a step further by losing to a goal scored from the halfway line  And a Seamenesque attempt by the keeper to get back Probably not the final we all would have wanted but a good turnout from the SriRacha public and I think the tournament as a whole has run smoothly. Looking forward to the real thing now. |

I think it was a tournament with some test matches. Even in this tournament Chonburi not lost any match in the regular time.
We will see in the AFC Cup how the thai teams will play international this year.
