I hate posts like this but..............I have it on good authority that a reasonably well known, experienced player is on his way to the TPL. Wink

Well stone me Dale, how about narrowing the field a bit?!

He's made more than fifty international appearances. Wink

Not Ian Walker, then?  Wink

5555 No, it's not Ian Walker. He is an outfield player who is a few years younger than the aforementioned custodian.

David Booth's contract as Laos coach is coming to an end,

not so much coming to an end, more being cut short

The article I read said he had a 6-month contract ending in December?

Are the Laos FA getting giddy with success and looking for a 'big name' coach now?

They want the old one back.

Because if it is one of the Home Nations then I've narrowed it down to two people...

I thought Walker was linked with Chonburi.

He was, but I don't think they could/would meet his salary expectations. Also, I think he was still pursuing a contract in the US,where he is based ( or was at the time)

He was due to come over for a "trial" in July, after meeting with our (Chonburi) reps in the USA. However, he allegedly asked the club to pay for flights for his other half and child so they could accompany him. We, quite rightly, refused and the whole deal fell through.

I hope he won't turn out to be another Gotken.

Well at least on the pics, he smiled more Goektan did on his arrival. Might be a good sign.

Sorry Loko! The player's wikipedia page has been updated. He was the first Asian to play in all four divisions of English football.

Sarayoot has strongly hinted that he'll be leaving Thai Port after new year. Rumours have it that he'll be joining either Bangkok Glass, SCG or Police Utd.

BEC Tero have more or less signed a new team.  They've signed plenty of MTU and Thai Port squad players which doesn't suggest they are aiming to win the league, but it must signal that they are aiming for a top 6 finish.

Zaizen is a quality player but cannot complete a full game due to health issues. Jetsada started last season as the captain and main man but there are reasons why he had to leave and I am very glad to see the back of him.

What reasons? Was he trying to emulate John Terry by shagging the players' wives?

No. I can't take the credit for that. My player is somebody different. However, there doesn't seem to have been any more news from my original source so maybe it's not happening.

SRS, will there anything happen in terms of new signings for Chonburi? And is Heang now the responsible head coach (manager) even though he was appointed team manager?

It's all very quiet on the transfer front. Only Anucha and Sarawut (returning) have come in. We've had the usual bunch of trialists but none of them have impressed.

And yes, Heng is calling the shots.

Buriram PEA have released Dudu who for those of you new on here was one of Buriram PEA's better players last season the reason this has come about has something to do with the number of foriegn players allowed per team.He was offered a contract with Buriram FC but turned it down(rightly so)to play in Division 1 but he is way above that standard. It will be interesting to see if he stays in the TPL?
I feel that he would get into any TPL side but we will just have to wait and see.

9 days before the start of the season This does not make any sense what so ever!!!!!!!!!!

Big loss as he's a quality player. I wouldn't mind seeing him at BG. I'm glad he stood up to the owners and refused to go to Buriram FC. No offence to BFC but he's much better than a D1 player.

It does seem strange that they would release him. If they wanted rid, they could have got good money for him.

Dudu is set to sign for   Thai Army Huh???

binnsy, do you have a source?

I saw a story the other day where his agent said Dudu was returning to the TPL, and there would be an official announcement in 2-3 days once everything was sorted (today is day 3). The agent denied a connection to Army, and also said Dudu attending Port's game at the weekend had no significance. I think agents are usually full of BS, and given reported connections between Newin and Army Utd, it wouldn't surprise me if that's where he goes.
However, one of the 'clique' is saying that he heard from someone close to the player, there are forces (perhaps Darth Vadar) at work to ensure he never plays in Thailand again.

I'm just wondering if the big announcement was made, and I haven't seen it

Dudu's going home to Brazil.
According to TLO, he'd signed a confidential agreement/contract saying he couldn't sign for any other Thai club except Buriram FC. He's been trying to negotiate a way out, but without luck.
