Hold on a second....

The 489 people (about 50 from Saraburi) are the result of a midweek round and the frustration of being bottom of the table and unable to win an home game in over 1 year and are not in the habit.

I think that 1,500-2,000 could be the average of a mid table team (at least we were about that if I'm not mistaken last season).

Still low compared to others but my point is that results certainly don't help.

There were about the same number at TOT v Sisaket. According to today's Siam Gila, the gate receipts at BKK Utd totalled B23,000 and TOT B22,000.

But surely Sisaket had 10,000 fans there.  Cheesy

That's particularly true in Thailand. Fans do seem to desert teams if their form goes.
Sisaket's home attendances are half that of what they were getting at the start of the season. And I've just seen highlights of Narathiwat v Air Force on TV. The place looked almost deserted. They were getting thousands last year as they contested the play-offs.

I think your average could be correct if we could get some points at home and didn`t stay bottom of the table. But with close to 14 months since our last win at home, bottom of the table and a midweekgame, the 489 is as expected. I know many of the fans are working in the week, and because of rush hour traffic in the area, it`s not an easy place to go to if you have to go there by car for a midweek game.

Let`s hope both the players and fans are up for it against Khon Khaen in the FA-cup on saturday. I`m afraid the place in the Premier League is lost already.Sad

Does it? I am not sure. Even I didn't see the match. BEC won only by 1:2 against mid table Chaing Rai.

2-1 away to a team practically in another country for BEC isn't a bad result.

Lets face it, any game outside of BKK is another country for most of our TPL teams

Surely a league winning coach can give them a kick up the backside and at least get back to back wins and a surge up to mid table??

Arrived in Thailand 3 hours ago and found out that today`s game vs Buriram is moved to Bangkok University in Rangsit due to political demonstrations!!
The yellow shirts this time, they moved their planned demonstration at the Government house to the Thai-Japanese stadium.
I`m not going to Rangsit to see a homegame, so no game for me today...  Sad

That's very annoying that the game has to be moved because of these PAD clowns.
You never know though, the change of venue might bring a change of luck for BKK Utd.

Why? Because they know Newin is in town? He's sort of their ally now isn't he? Though the PAD seem to be moving away from being pro-democrat.

For the first time this year Buriram lost in the TPL. Bangkok United beat them 2-0 at our "new" home ground. Maybe we should play there all the time?

haha I wouldn't say it's because of the ground, their squad isn't bad
in Maxime's first game against BEC Tero I thought he was brilliant so I'm not really surprised that he scored against Buriram PEA today but I think mainly the reason that they won the match is that the squad's morale is high with the new manager.

And the new manager, Prapol Pongpanich, was the manager of PEA before so he probably knows the weaknesses of the team.

I had the same problem today and I only managed to reach Rangsit and see the last minutes of the game Sad
It was however worth considering the result.
With Rayong only 4 points ahead we still have some chance now.

Yes. This is also where they played all the pre-season games at home, and I think they are training there too.

Haha! You are lucky if you get a point. We have won our 2 last games now, and will win 2 more next week.

Well, back to being serious. When we can beat Buriram, we can also get at least a point vs Muangthong. But it won`t be easy!
Anyway, now we can believe it`s possible to stay up. Smiley

I think we do deserved more from today game and despite the 0-3 I still believe we can avoid relegation.
We played even for over an hour and with a bit of luck we could have took the lead and we would have probably seen a different game.

MTU manager is very provocative and irritating but this is not a news.

MTU fans are however great.

I believe today there were about 3-4,000 people (1,200-1,500 MTU noisy fans).

The midweek home round against Royal Thai Army will be extremely important, we absolutely cannot afford not to win that one.

A couple of weeks ago I was saying BKK Utd were practically down, now I'd rather see them see stay up. I think if properly managed, they can be the team for Bangkok. I hope they do stay up. If they did go down, I would fear for their future.

I agree. The game was even for the first hour. It was only when Datsakorn scored that fantastic goal that the game changed. The 2 late goals made the 3-0 scoreline a bit flattering.

It was nice to see a good turnout from the home support. The home stand was full and they gave plenty of vocal support.

It's vital for Bkk Utd that they win on Wednesday. If they don't, it could leave them with too much of a gap to close.

Yeah, we HAVE TO beat Army on wednesday, and possibly also TTM away next weekend to stay up. With only 10 games left to play we need to win 4 or 5 and get a couple of draws. It`s these 2 games that looks the "easiest" games to win, in addition to Rayong and Sisaket away, and TOT and Samut S at home in the last 2 games.
The other games are at home to Chonburi and Thai Port, and away to Bangkok Glass and Pattaya.

We still haven`t won a league game at Thai-Japanese Stadium since June 3rd, 2009. Only got 5 points and scored 8 goals in our last 18 leaguegames there. This season we have lost 5 of the 9 games there by 3 to 4 goals, and only scored 3 times. This has to change NOW!!
We beat Buriram at home, but the game was played at Bangkok University in Rangsit.

Bangkok United will not play any more games this season at the Thai-Japanese Stadium! The rest of the games in 2010 is moved to Bangkok University in Rangsit.

The main reason is that the pitch won`t be playable again this season because of this week`s rugby tournament at the stadium.
And of course: We won vs Buriram in the stadium at Bangkok University, and we have not won any TPL-games at Thai-Japanese for 15 months.

I wonder if I can get the money for my season ticket back.Sad

They may get more fans moving back home to Rangsit, many of the fans are students, but of course they will loose some too.
Today I don`t know if I`m going there. If lucky with traffic it takes aprox 45-60 minutes to get there by taxi, and have to pay at least 300-400 THB each way including using the tollway. For a midweek game it will probably take more than 2 hours to get there.

I think the rugby games being played there was an Asean U20 tournament. The stadium is used to different things other than football, but rugby should be banned from everywere football is being played.

Well, they are going home, so back to the fans they dumped before. At least at Rangsit they are running things. Playing in Thai-Jap Stadium is in the hands of whoever runs the stadium. They can play there until someone stumps up bigger cash to use it for a day.

About time they went back to there roots.

Perhaps a name change to one of the following would help build up their fanbase:

1. Bangkok Disunited F.C.   Undecided

2. Kind of Bangkok But We're Really In Rangsit F.C.   Cry

3. "?" F.C.   Huh?

4. Manchester United F.C.   Cheesy

True, I should have thought that through more before posting Wink

But we are named after our parent company, it has nothing to do with our location and we don't claim to represent Bangkok.

Perhaps a name change to one of the following would help build up their fanbase:

1. Bangkok Disunited F.C.   Undecided

2. Kind of Bangkok But We're Really In Rangsit F.C.   Cry

3. "?" F.C.   Huh?

4. Manchester United F.C.   Cheesy

3. "Stick a pin in the map FC" or is that TOT?

They were named Bangkok University when the played in Rangsit before their namechange to Bangkok United. Only removed "versity" and added "ted".Smiley

How about, "If you live in Bangkok, go shopping instead because our football team play in Rangsit and they're not very good khrap."

A bit of a mouthful, but quite catchy with a few dancing girls, flash motor cars and laughter prompting horns in the background.

If you live in Bangkok, you're either slumming it or you're covered from head to toe in bling bling ...
