AFF U16 MEET IN BANGKOK POSTPONED PETALING JAYA (9 July 2009) – The Asean Football Federation (AFF) Under-16 Championship which was supposed to be held in Bangkok next month has been postponed. The championship, which was designed to serve as a tune-up for the AFC Championship qualifiers later in the year, was scheduled to take place at the Rajamangala Stadium on 6-19 August 2009. According to an official letter to the AFF from the FA of Thailand (FAT) which was signed by Ong-Arj Kosinkar, the general secretary, the reason for the postponement was due to the growing concern over the A(H1N1) flu in the country. “As you are well aware of the wide spread of the A(H1N1) flu in Thailand and our authorities concerned have been fighting very hard to suppress this 2009 influenza. Due to this current fact and all various concerned which have been raised by our authorities, we would like to postpone the above-mentioned tournament to the future possible dates “We thank you sincerely for your kind understanding in this matter and kindly inform our Member Associations concerned regarding this postponement.” In the meantime, the AFF Under-19 Championship scheduled for 4-16 August 2009 in Vietnam will still be held as planned since there has been no request from the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) for a change. http://www.aseanfootball.org/news_d.asp?id=931

No , I think you confused Thailand begin with a bang BANGKOK: Hosts Thailand began their campaign in the AFC U-16 Championship 2010 qualifiers with a bang thrashing Cambodia 8-0 at the Royal Thai Army Stadium on Friday.
Korea Republic , however, were held to a goalless draw by Myanmar in another Group G game while their Northern neighbours DPR Korea defeated Vietnam 2-1.
Striker Prakasit Khamkhong smashed four goals while Kittisak Hochin netted two. Kasidech Wattayawong and Itthiphon Yotphrom also joined the goal feast with a goal each.
Ju Jong Chol scored the match-winner for DPR Korea five minutes from time after Jo Kwang’s 23rd-minute opener was cancelled out by Vietnam’s Vo Ngoc Duc six minutes into the restart.
Thailand will face Vietnam, DPR Korea will take on Myanmar while Cambodia will meet Korea Republic on Sunday.

BANGKOK: Vietnam drew 0-0 with Myanmar to narrowly qualify for next year’s AFC U-16 Championship 2010 finals along with Group G winners DPR Korea. The Vietnamese finished with eight points, the same as hosts Thailand, but go through because of the two teams’ head-to-head record.
Vietnam had beaten Thailand 1-0 on October 11.
There was heartbreak for the Thais, who led Korea Republic 2-1 before Kwon Chang-hoon equalised in the 82nd minute to make it 2-2.
DPR Korea completed their programme with a 5-0 victory over Cambodia for four wins and one draw, giving them a total of 13 points.
The Thais knew they had to win against Korea Republic to put pressure on Vietnam but it was the Koreans who took the lead through Kim Seung-jun after only six minutes.
Thailand fought back in the second half and raised hopes of a top two place in the group as Ekkaphop Saensa and Subun Ngernprasert scored in the 63rd and 72nd minute respectively.
But their heroics were cancelled out by Kwon, who scored eight minutes from the end.
DPR Korea had a stroll against Cambodia. Jang Ok-chol gave them a second-minute lead and then doubles from Jo Kwang and Ri Ji-song completed their comprehensive victory.

Both Thailand and South Korea are equally disappointed considering the perception of their own standards. South Korea, no doubt, dubbed as the highest in football standard given recent success of their elder sides even at World stage. Thailand on the other hand is overated not the players but its selected coaching staffs.
Cavallo was a promising coach who would turn things around for the Kingdom when I was a U15. Thirty eight years later, after a few tries with meager success, still remain the man who could be successful.
The World of football has move on with the youth players of those days such as Chalermwut, Chanvit, Kawin, Pichai, Piyapong and Wittaya all have had considerable success at various stages. Thailand football and a dream of installing Brazilian football in the Kingdom remain just an unrealistic expectation.
Several years ago I hooked up with an old pal of Cavallo Volume I. Whether Thailand failed Cavallo or it was Cavallo himself who has failed Thialand football ones can spend the next two decade and a half dabating for explanation of ones' liking. But that will not change the fact that Thailand football is going nowhere with Cavallo. Enough is enough! Give the local trainers and coaches neccessity to work with to develop the youth and the youth will be deeloped.
FAT should also stop being wishy washy about football development and allowing Thailand football to be the richies pet projects. Doesn't the term 'national interest' bear a profound meaning to you? Football is embraced, loved and supported by a great number of the population in this land and they are from all walks of life. This make Thailand football undeniably an institute and a community that mends people together despite differences in socio and econo - politics. It is an institute of National Interest not only a branch of social interest of those insurance brakers and a handful of middle man cast families with whom half of family members have never touch football let alone go to see the game in their fanancial mathmetical symbols infested lives.
Don't tell me it's just a game, this is FOOTBALL!

AFF U16 Championship :
07/07/2011 : Thailand 2-2 Malaysia
11/07/2011 : Thailand 6-1 Timor Leste
13/07/2011 : Thailand 2-0 Indonesia
15/07/2011 : Thailand 1-1 Laos
18/07/2011 : Thailand 2-0 Singapore
20/07/2011 : Thailand 1-0 Laos EARLY SUCHANON GOAL GIVES THAILAND CROWN VIENTIANE (20 July 2011) – An early strike from Suchanon Makison was enough to give Thailand the crown in the AFF Under-16 Youth Championship ahead of hosts Laos in the final that was played at the National Stadium.
In front of a sell-out crowd with some reporting that the fans number close to 30,000, Suchanon headed the only goal in the game.
“I’m still not happy even though we won tonight,” said Sasom Probprasert, the chief coach of Thailand.
“The players are just not cool enough especially in defence. We should be better than this and we should improve for the AFC qualifiers in two months.”
In spite of the intermittent rain, Laos came out with all pistons pumping and pressured Thailand right from the start.
But the concession of a free kick just five minutes into the match, saw Chaowat Veerachat floated in a cross to the far post which the waiting Suchanon headed home to silence the crowd.
The game then stepped up a gear higher after that as Laos tried in droves to find the equaliser but in their fervent desire, captain Chittakone Sithanong picked up a second yellow card for an offense on Sitthichok Kannoo in the 18th minute.
Chittakone had earlier picked up his first yellow card in the 13th minute and after being warned by referee Sukhbir Singh of Singapore barely two minutes later, Chittakone committed yet another offense to see him being sent-off for an early shower.
The substitution for the wily Anousay Nyavong in place of Southavone Thammada at the half hour mark, gave Laos more pace at the centre of the park but the Thai defence continued to deny them.
Thailand eased into the second half confident that they have the numerical advantage as they allowed Laos to do all the work as the fans grew all eager that they should not be disappointed on the night after braving the rain.
In the 72nd minute, a cross from Anousay allowed Armisay Kettavong to break away from his markers but with only Thai keeper Apirak Worawong to beat, he blasted his attempt well over the crossbar.
Thailand replied with a double try but both shots from Atthawit Sukchuai and Nattawut Sombatyotha was blocked by Laos custodian Vathana Keoduangdeth.
The last ditch attempt from Laos came right at the end but off a freekick from Thanin Phanthavong, Anousay’s missed the header all together.
The four minute added time failed to give Laos the chance for an excruciatingly close equaliser as Thailand celebrate with FA of Thailand (FAT) general secretary Ong-Arj Kosinkar in the stand.

Thank you for giving the links, bro. As I know, a half of Thai players came from Arsenal JMG Thailand Football Academy. The JMG Academy in Thailand was cancelled due to many reasons. Most players joined MT United but the others still in football system. The players mostly were from Suankularb School, Bangkok Christian College, Assumption College and others. But I'm not sure if there were any JMG players. Many clubs in Thailand have connection with schools and set up the training system to schools so the clubs would get the players as they expect while schools get reputation. Because most of Thai boys want to get a degree so they are studying while they are playing football. Famous players like Kawin or Leesaw are still College student.

Sitthichok Kan-nooMy favorite player of this tournament is Sittichok Kan-noo, the striker from Suankularb school which has a connection with Buriram PEA. Twelve goals in five games can say how great he was. If this boy continue work hard, I'm pretty sure English Premier League wouldn't be too far. And the other is Saran Puangbud, right winger, from Assumption School(the productions of this school are Teerasil, Theeratorn and Kawin) who has speed, technique, agility with good passing and shooting. In the next few years, the right winger of senior team would be him. Other interesting players is Rachen Sobunma, center defender, Amnart Pamornprasert, dynamo midfielder, Suchanon Malisorn, left winger , and Appirak Worawong, the keeper. The management is planing to send this team to have a preparation for AFC u16 2012 at Brazil by coordination from the Brazilian coach, Leones. Winnie was really impressed with this team contribution. He wanted to take charge of every level of national team but unfortunately people only have 24 hours a day. For me, I have one big concerns, the ways kids used tricks to waste the time and kick the opponent players wasn't I expected. They should focus on playing football, not the tricks from tricky players.

Don't worry his father really support him to play football and control him in professional way. His older brother, Attaphol Kan-noo, is a footballer of Buriram PEA youth team and called for u19.
