Wasn't he linked with Korat? He was indeed, and he was in Korat yesterday, but I believe he is likely to go to Muang Thong. I think we're still getting Marain Juhas, though.

Tough choice. It's a strange one. He was definitely in Korat and the deal was on. So glad he's not coming. There's a sense of mourning on the official webboard, but I don't want us to go down the route of paying insane money to lure players who otherwise would never consider coming here. We're more than capable of putting together a side good enough to reach the play-offs without going to such extremes. Sol Campbell to Notts County and Faustino Asprilla to Darlington sprang to mind when I heard about the deal. We don't need to go down that route.

OK it's now public - Carlos is the new man.
Hang on to your spandex BGMan, there could yet be another twist in this tale.
Weera and the new guy from TOT will also be unveiled tomorrow at the press conference.

I'm a bit surprised that MTU went for Carlos. He's got a lot to prove after his recent unsuccessful tenure at BG. Also with the imminent signing of Toth from TOT, that will answer your question from your earlier blog post about attacking cover. He is the wrong side of 30 now but he always gives 100% when he plays.

Why am I not surprised at the following coments?Maybe it because he is surposed to be a journo in his spare time? Yes, yes there is a conflict of interests in MTU's owners giving out awards, but in my humble opinion I can honestly say the only awards I would dispute are two that we didn't win! Winners - Best coach - Pattaya United Coach Best fans - Buriram PEA fans Best Foreign Player - Dagno Siaka Best player - Datsakorn Thonglao Most popular player - Suchao Nutnum Best young player - Kawin Thamasatchanan Best Club - Muangthong United

What the f*ck does "Best Club" mean? It was done in Thai, remember. It probably means "best run club" or "best team". I wouldn't take any of it too seriously TBH. You never know, Korat might win it one day.......... (When Southampton win the EPL :-) )

Thank you kindly. It was meant to be a ten minute job but for some reason blogger.com kept pixilating the banner image, even when I specified its exact width and height and checked the html template to make sure it matched. Eventually I had to upload it elsewhere and link to it. Still a mystery.

Chonburi v Thai Port on the 19th of February will be well worth a visit. It's the first game of the season and it's at our new stadium - well, three of the stands are new and the fourth has been dramatically rebuilt but you know what I mean. It will also be packed so there should be a cracking atmosphere. It would be advisable to get a ticket in advance. If you need any help, just pm me.

Well last season the Ultras stand was for those who like the non stop singing and shouting Thai style, the n-zone for those who perfer it slightly more like the western style of support. West stand for families. However next season away fans will be moved to the upper west stand so things may change.

Rossi, if you're with the Ultras, you will be standing, singing and dancing for the full 90 mins. It's probably not the best place to go if you want to watch the game. But for the younger fans, it's the place to be. I prefer to sit in the east or west stand as you get a better view of the match and it's a bit more relaxed. Also, Thai port and Bangkok Glass are worth a visit. For the majority of games you can buy tickets on match days but if it's a top of the league clash, you'd be advised to get tickets in advance.

Greg any idea why they've switched the away fans to the upper west?
Last season the n-zoners were kicked out and into the East Stand several times because away teams would, allegedly, bring enough fans to fill the North Stand, therefore forcing us to move from our half of that stand. The silly thing was that clubs like Army United, Sisaket and so on would confidently state their numbers at 1000+. Army actually had less than 100 with them, so we all got moved for nothing. That's one reason. I think the second is that it gives an obvious advantage to have home fans directly behind both goals.

Also if the away fans are in the upper west, it will provide better segregation inside the stadium.

Couple of news items:
The new kits are being designed by Grand Sport and will be available before the BG game at the earliest. The club have a lot of input into the design and seem very about it.
Ronnarit is adamant that he does not intend to sell Chris or Dagno. He also says four more transfers inward are expected, some inside Thailand, some outside.

This mean sunday they will use their old shirt? Strange not? Why don't they present it before the season begin?

Speaking about where each player come from, i just remember something, i don't know if we talk about it before... BEC Tero get this year a former captain of MTU! I am not talking about Jetsada but... Thewa!!! He was captain during 2008 in Division 1.

@ greg , you told me you would like to comment on opinions mentioned about MTU fans. Please go ahead Oh btw I was at AFC cup match and I dont think MTU supporters are fake. Theyre enthusiastic and the south stand has always a good number of active supporters. And when I said not grassroots I didnt mean fans in particular. I was talking about ultra muang thong. Im just relying on my gut by saying theyre not a grassroots fanclub but they might as well be.

Is there friendly match between Chainat-MTU in 6th february? If so, any details where and when? And why Kallio didn't got in game last sunday, injury or just lack of skills or are there some limits how many foreign players can be in squad?

Today I spoke to the head of security at MTU about a problem dating back to December. He actually speaks good English and explained about the security process which I think will make for an interesting interview. Stay tuned.
Who can guess which club has the most fans banned from the TD?

muang thong code of conduct
1.9 We will not use team or club websites as a forum for personal attacks on other teams or players as this kind of behaviour can cause negative consequences causing rifts between clubs and fans.
seems like some are not aware of this.
I can only guess that they do not include this website
