t_e, do you really think they played too many games over the season? I would argue that they would face a similar amount of fixtures at any successful club.
However, I agree they had too many matches in the 2nd half of the season, due to the poorly timed League Cup.
The saddest thing about his recent injury is that it's probably caused by the excess number of games dumped on Muangthong through the year. Whether that injury changes his future plans remains to be That is the price of success  I don't think it's the price of success. A lot of it was to do with scheduling or lack thereof concerning national games against club duties. Of course the TLC didn't help much either though I'm not sure how many games he played in that. Given that there is a cross-league group of Thai fans protesting against Worwai on the basis of poor scheduling, I think most fans would agree with me. The more successful a team is the more games they play during the season. The scheduling is down to the FAT and yes the League Cup should never have been played over two legs all the way to the final. Maybe Rene and Rob will do an Arsenal and play the youths next season in this cup? When are MTUTD starting there pre season matchs?  |

Yes but a successful team have the right to be notified about their games so they can make preparations. With the TLC, international games and general fixture juggling by the TFA that became impossible and put a dangerous strain on the palyers' bodies.
Without having any knowledge, I think MTU staff will request the FA make the TLC one-legged after the first round proper next season. I'm sure they will use youth and reserve players for TLC matches.
Pre-season starts today against a Vietnamese team (in Thailand) and then Lopburi next week. No matches at home because a new turf is being laid. In fact we may have to play our first few league games away from home.
When/who are PEA playing?

Interestingly the report seems to state Narongchai has left.If so where did he go and did we get back any of the money we spent on him?

Well, this not particularly beneficial to Meung Thong but certainly for Rene. The Philippines will need a new coach as Simon McMeneme despite magical work at the recent AFF Suzuki Cup does not possess required license to coach AFC's calendar games. I am sure he is aware of that as it has been all over the prints and cyber-space.

A) You are strong in all departments and have equal strength in cover, so finding a weakness on the field is very difficult. As I've said before, Muang Thong have been the best side in the country for me over the past two years. However, as far as I'm concerned, your Achilles' heel is your coach and his assistant. They do tend to come across as being rather arrogant and are not afraid to make their feelings known. It's quite possible that this approach could backfire on them, and your club. As long as you keep winning, it might not be a problem but if a couple of decisions go against you, and they start to criticise, it will be interesting to see how that goes down in certain quarters.

Thong are giving a trial to Tony Kallio, an experienced Fin who has 49 caps for Finland and Premier League experience with Fulham FC. The left back has also played for Sheffield United and HJK Helsinki. He played one game for Viking FC of Norway before being released. He has already joined the Quilins for training. At 32 years of age, he is nearing the end of his career but by no means is he finished. Scandinavian players typically take good care of themselves and I'm sure Tony will be trying hard to win a full contract. :iagree:Certainly been taking care of himself Less than 400 minutes per season. |

Kallio have possibly also played games for Viking`s reserves (level 3 in Norway) and for Fulham`s and Sheffield United`s reserves. But of course he might be a good player even if he has got only a few first team apperances in the last few years. |

Muang Thong sign ex-Fulham defender Kallio
Two-time defending Thai Premier League champions Muang Thong United have signed former Fulham player Toni Kallio.
Nicknamed the "Bonecrusher" because of his physique and his playing style, the Finland defender has joined the Kirins on a one-year contract.
Kallio said: "It is great to join the best team in Thailand. It is another challenge for me. I also received an offer from Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premier League but I think Muang Thong have ambition for more success."
Muang Thong have also signed goalkeeper Weera Kerdpudsa from relegated Bangkok United as cover for their number one shot-stopper Kawin Thamasatchanan who is nursing a broken finger.
Bangkok Glass have signed former Olympique Lyon player Sylvain Idingar on a two-year contract. The French player won the French league title with Lyon in 2004.
The 2011 TPL season kicks off next month.

Datsakorn is best player Midfielder Datsakorn Thonglao of Muang Thong United won the 1st Football Siam Golden Ball Award yesterday while his teammate in the national side, Suchao Nutnum, was voted the most popular player.
he awards, organised by Football Siam TV of Siam Sport Syndicate, were presented at the Radisson hotel.
In addition to Datsakorn's prize, Muang Thong picked up three more awards, with Dagno Siaka of the Ivory Coast selected as best foreign player and Kawin Thamasatchanan the best young player.
Muang Thong was also named the best club.
Best coach award went to Pattaya United's Thavatchai Dumrong-Ongtrakul. who has since moved to Insee Police United.
