Not a bad stick!!!Thats debatable after reading his blog I see that he has his excuses ready the players are tired,Goalkeeper injury and Christian banned. So if they come unstuck he is covered has it not crossed his mind that Chonburi might play well and deserve to win the same as Thai Port last week? If he is a true football fan prehaps he will view the match on its merit.

He was responding to a question about player fitness and he gave an accurate answer. He also said that Chonburi are a good footballing side. So I don't think he is the one refusing to see things on their merits.

You forgot the lesson from Teerasil , Kiatprawut and Suree Sukha several years ago ?  Shocked  I don't think a ASEAN player could play in Premier League because they must overcome labour laws of England before participating in the professional test .

This is correct, and even if Kawin had not broken his hand the trial would not yet have taken place and nobody thought Kawin was going to be signed to jump in to the MU first team, so the post from TPF is completely illogical.

I understand one of the starting eleven of MTU will be a BEC Tero player by the end of next month.

I think Buriram PEA need to win the league before things can become normally again, hopefully they wll do it sooner rather than later. Once they've done it I'm sure the plug will be pulled and it will be the original Buriram's turn.

Question to the Buriram PEA supporters, will you still support them when the franchsie moves to another location? Did you support them when they were in Ayyuthaya?

gutted that chonburi won because that puts buriram pea out of the A.F.C. but you have to smile at the scum getting beat.so the great season of 4 cups then 3 then 2 now only 1 absolutely love it,and they were lucky to win the league.never mind the boys with the money are coming through, money talks and bullshit walks.carry on walking muangthong.

I think this kind of comment tells us far more about you than it does about football or any part of it. You were told this was a friendly and intelligent forum, you were asked politely not to use profanity.

Trying to get back onto the football side of things as I do think recently we have moved onto a hate kind of theme, of which I have taken part, but here goes:

Ok, Greg, as the MTU correspondent among us, how do you see things going for the club?

Are they looking to bring in another big name such as Berkant Gorkan who didn't do anything except get people talking?

The club, from what I hear (wrongly or rightly) seem to be embarking on a big player urnover this year. Is this the right way to go? Can any club really turnover a big amount of players and still be amongest the top sides?

TPL or ACL? TPL is the bread and butter, but to preogress as a club you need to get into the ACL. Can you play on two competitive fronts?

The ACL playoffs are amongest us. You could get Sriwaya, or possible a team from West Asia (more likely Dempo of India if my thinking's correct). Who would you prefer.

Who's your biggest opposition, Choburi, Thai Port, Bangkok Glass or house sitters TOT?

So there may be a end of season clearout at the champs. To my way of thinking that means that the manager does not consider them good enough to put on the shirt.OK one is off to Belguim which he is trying to better himself.I would have thought he would be bringing in a few quality players in increase the squad numbers so he can rotate his team selection which would assist your team in there quest for tropies.

I think your way of thinking on this is back to front. They are obviously good enough as we won the league. In fact, some of them will go on to bigger things and none of them will go to weaker clubs except fringe or reserve players. Most of them simply cannot face another season with as many fixtures as the one we just had, it would shorten their careers.

So from your statement those athletes who are going to be released will be going on bigger things?.Those who go to other Thai clubs will only be fringe players who are not up to it.It will be interesting to see who leaves.

t_e, do you really think they played too many games over the season? I would argue that they would face a similar amount of fixtures at any successful club.
However, I agree they had too many matches in the 2nd half of the season, due to the poorly timed League Cup.

While binnsy's comment about 'not being good enough to wear the shirt' may be a bit extreme, surely some even 1st team players will come under scrutiny or have their roles reduced, as Rene strengthens the squad for Asian and domestic competitions.

Regarding the fixtures, it was the frequency that was more of a problem than the volume IMHO. Internationals, ACL/FC, League, FA Cup, Toyota Cup over half a season and two legs. That's probably more games than Chelsea play over a shorter season and with a smaller squad.

Regarding the changes, my gut feeling is that we (MTU) have hit a time of change for various reasons. It will be interesting to see what happens, as I mentioned in my blog there is so much going on and so much uncertainty that I don't know if anyone really can see the future. Of course no good manager or coach will sit on his laurels and of course any team should look to strengthen. So yes, some first teamers may go sideways but of the top players, especially the Africans, I predict many of them will move to a club that most of us consider a step up.
Many of our players have become fish too big for the pond.

From the BEC thread:

More transfer news from TLO.

Forward Ronnachai Rangsiyo (MTU), plus goalkeepers Tanonsak Panpipat (MTU)

They will be good signings for BEC Tero. They are decent players but not good enough for MTU.  The FA Cup final showed that.

Actually I thought Phanphipat was an ideal back-up goalkeeper, experienced and calm. In the FA Cup final I thought he was our MOTM. However, with Kawin's injury it's possible he might stay with us longer than we expected. I am slightly concerned about the large number of outgoings even though I knew (and warned) it was coming and we are not finished yet. I will try to put my mind at rest by getting some incoming transfer news.

That move surprises me a little, unless Phanpipat wasn't told that Cunningham was also joining. Why go from being a back-up at MTU to being a back-up at BEC? With Kawin is being tipped to move on to bigger things, surely the door is more likely to open there?

So I am guessing that you will be awarding Drury with the grumpiest poster 2010.As for your experiment i guess that any $10 you receive will be donated to a local Temple/Hospital?.

Todays the 21st only 4 days left for you to spend them $10 that you may have received.
Ho Ho Ho

I normally do a special post in my blog at Christmas so you'll see then. I'll also be giving details of how anyone else can help if they wish.

Rehman quote on the BBC website:

"I met the club officials over the weekend and my gut feeling was to sign.

"I have been made to feel very welcome by everyone and there is an extremely professional set up, excellent training facilities, 25,000 seater stadium and very passionate fans.

"I had offers from other clubs both here and abroad but Muangthong United made me a great offer and expressed the strongest interest in signing me.

"They want me to help them continue their impressive run of winning the Thai Premier League for a third consecutive year and further progress in the Asian Champions League."

Not me Binnsy, to the charity I will mention tomorrow.
It's mighty good of you to have clicked though and I know you wouldn't lie about that, think of the bad karma it would bring! But as it's the festive season and you love Thailand, let's all dig a little deeper.
Now back to discussion of the champions.....

He should more than hold his own in the TPL.
However when or will we be hearing the other side of the story as to his sacking from Bradford or maybe he has learnt his lesson on going public?

If I've read this right, (and I gave up pretty quickly) MTU have sacked goalkeeping coach Nipon Malanon. http://www.thaileagueonline.com/news.php?id_news=4116&page=1

Also, for those interested, the MTU club shop at Yamaha is having a sale on 25-26 December. 50% off team shirts, 20-50% off other stuff like scarves and hats. I just know Binnsy and Mark are queueing up for bus tickets from Buriram right now Wink

From the OS (with a spelling correction by me :-) )
Thai Premier Legue champion Muangthong United has signed Insee Police United FC’s winger Jakrapan Pornsai on a four-year contract with undisclosed fee including a year loan deal exchanging of Chayanan Phombuppha on Tuesday.

That article is confirming they will *not* sign him.

http://www.mtutd.tv/NewsDetail.asp?id=1994
"The 2010 TPL champion’s mouthpiece said, “Muanthong United have never interesting for Thai Port Fc’s defender Moisy because we already have the strong backline players including “Oat” Nataporn Panrit and “Mai” Panupong Wongsa who were the strongest defender in this country. We also have many foreign players who can play as midfield and defender, such as, Dagno Siaka and Abdul Kulibali, while the young centerback “Back” Nawaphol Tantraseni just comeback from an injury problem and ready to feature in the next seaso"

I think Moise and MTU is only invented story to push his ambition and price, becouse he is in try out in one good european club Wink

Moise is a real good player. Really like his style of play from what I saw. If he would leave TPFC it would be a big loss for them.

2010 player review. The only players I left out were the two Nawapols because I get them mixed up and Chayanan because he barely played.

Oh yeh, because I  mentioned him in the post before. Quality player but can't usually do a full game.

However when or will we be hearing the other side of the story as to his sacking from Bradford or maybe he has learnt his lesson on going public?

Still not heard the other side of the story

t_e, do you really think they played too many games over the season? I would argue that they would face a similar amount of fixtures at any successful club.
However, I agree they had too many matches in the 2nd half of the season, due to the poorly timed League Cup.

The saddest thing about his recent injury is that it's probably caused by the excess number of games dumped on Muangthong through the year. Whether that injury changes his future plans remains to be

That is the price of success

I don't think it's the price of success. A lot of it was to do with scheduling or lack thereof concerning national games against club duties. Of course the TLC didn't help much either though I'm not sure how many games he played in that.

Given that there is a cross-league group of Thai fans protesting against Worwai on the basis of poor scheduling, I think most fans would agree with me.
