David May?!?! Cheesy

David May did never play in any CL-finals.

The team from 99:
Peter Schmeichel, Gary Neville, Jaap Stam, Ronny Johnsen, Denis Irwin, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, David Beckham, Jesper Blomqvist, Andy Cole, Dwight Yorke and, of course, Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

I can`t see it beeing any of the players from other United-finals.

I dunno any of them. I even can't remember there was CL Final in 1999.

Must be Dwight Yorke or Andy Cole only they would be desperate enough to play in Thailand. Honestly should  MT go down the "old galacticos path" -? surely that will be them screwed next year!!

MT are signing both Santi and Anucha from Pattaya for next season - they've made offers that neither can refuse though insiders say Anucha is still wobbling. I'm sorry to lose Anucha who is a real prospect but delighted that lazy Santi is leaving. He was the one who punched Langley in the face at training and started Langley-gate - he is a poisonous little turd who thought he ran Pattaya. Good riddance to bad rubbish and MT are paying a lot for him as well. Nice!!!

One of the two players in question is actually younger than myself (early thirties :-) ) and signing just a  couple of veterens is not going down that route is it? The average age of the squad is still very young.

As for the two Pattaya players, there's been nothing confirmed this side yet, but Rob and Rene tend to be good judges of character (I know Rob took a punt with Gotken but I think he was aware it was a punt) so let's see what happens.

Honest answer: I don't know, but I will find out.

We are winning 1-0 away to Rayong (Teerasil) and Chonburi are winning at Army.
Both games 37 minutes in.

Vinnie, no official role for Suwat, just a friend of the top boys.

Maybe we will ask him for help next season? We're going to need it :-)

The Bangkok Post's article on the Athletico Madrid deal calls him MTU's honourable chairman. As we know that no such thing exists in Thailand, perhaps Khun Tor meant 'honorary chairman'?

However, his other job is President of the Tennis FA.

So who is the former Man Utd player that is interested in playing for MTU? Apparently he played in the Champions League final so the target isn't Roy Keane then. Ha Ha!!

At a guess, Jesper Blomquist?Huh?

Good guess. Smiley

Yeah but it is more or less the same as TLO reported yesterday. And it's nothing more than "interested" and these things. On the other hand you may wouldn't post things like that if you not know more than this. Wouldn't you? Wink

You're getting more like Druryfire every day :-)
I simply posted it because it mentions he is available. I don't know anything further. I'd prefer the as yet unnamed player as he is a little younger.
What seems clear is that MTU are after at least one big name.

Nicky Butt is being touted around Hong Kong, and when touted around HK, they are normally touted around the ASEAN region aswell.

With MTU, i don't think they need to bring in a big name. These big names are for the up and coming clubs really, not established clubs like MTU.

Francis Jeffers is now at the Newcastle Jets in Australia.

However, David Mulligan (current NZ international) is supposed to be trialling in Singapore now/soon. Perhaps MTU could look at him. Wink

From Loko's website, Kone is moving to KV Mechelin in Belgium for 15 million baht. The article I read says negotiations are still ongoing, although Loko's site (more recent) seems to say it's a done deal.

@Drury
Who's twisting? I asked you to explain why you were sure PTT should have won the league over a season but didn't and you didn't mention it at all, instead you start on about Rajpracha!

So once again - can you explain why PTT should have won the league over the course of a season but fell short?

As for Raj, I've think I made my opinions clear in the article. Take away the disallowed goal at Chula, sack the terrible coach a little earlier and we may have had a few more points and finished, say, sixth. I felt they were capable of that and explained why. I'm not saying the league table lies, I'm saying the club was not managed to its full potential.

The rest of your post was a long way of saying: "blah blah nonsense" and we all know it, so it doesn't need a response. I know you like the last word so I'll give it you for this one.

Sorry Greg, I obviously can't read, but then again I thought you asked my if I went to the PTT matches, not why I think they should have won the league.

Just can't understand how you can claim the championship for a season you wasn't even aware of. Now lets come on, MTU were called Mueng Nongjork Utd back then, they played in Nong Jork, not even at your current Thunderdome, so they don't actually have any connection to you whatsoever.

I give you that MTU won the league so yes they did the business, but it's funny even when MTU lose, in your eyes the better team lost as the ACL showed in your comments.

You always win win, even when you clearly lose.

Funny how you chose 6th for Raj, putting them in a playoff position. Why couldn't youj ust comment that it was a good season for Raj after getting promotion, a season of stability rather than promotion aspirations.

Sorry guys. C'mon. Why the best team and/or the best playing team necessarily have to win the league? It is well known in Germany that Bayer Leverkusen all over the last years have been the best side in Bundesliga. Did they win anything? No! The German national side was not known for playing the best football for decades. Did they win WC and EC? Yes!

This is the whole point Loko, when it suits Greg he uses the League table, even if he wasn't around back in 2007. When it doesn't suit him, he says the better team lost as in the ACL match.

He only has eyes for MTU as they play in Nonthaburi, but there history lies in NongJork. Will he still follow them when they move out of Nonthaburi?

Well at least it prompted you to make a post that wasn't a waste of time.
Nice that you won all that when you were playing in different places and none of you were born and nobody was watching, but I'd prefer to stuff you three times in very recent memorey :-)
And sorry but under Druryfire's new rules you cannot cite any wins that happened before you started watching games. So you've won nothing in his book, and the KCR is safely with us now anyway.

This rule does remove the WC from England but I think Drury is Scottish so that may be part of his plan.

Thanks for bringing me into this Greg. All I was getting at earlier is the fact that you claim all your championships as well deserved even if you never had any account of them at all.

I don't disregard any of your championships, I just don't understand how you can so easily jump on the bandwagon. Never before have I heard you mention of your championships in 2007 and 08, but thats before you discovered Thai football. Now suddenly your all over them like a rash.

I was under the impression from his postings on this site that he was the man at MTUFC.
Reading his blog i get that he is in the know but maybe he is only doing his blog for the financial gain?i.e $10 if you care to click here Wink
I never realized that he has jumped on the bandwagon.
As for his remarks about spamming how many more times is he going to post 3 results?

I've been offered far more to advertise but have never accepted. The ad you are referring to was more of an experiment actually.
Spamming is far greater with pictures because they take up space and download time. The results were obviously just a little jab :-)
MTU are my local side and the first team I went to watch in Thailand and I was blogging on them before PEA moved from Ayutthaya to Buriram.

And Drury and I get along fine, we joust merely for the honor of being the grumpiest poster. You are welcome to join in :-)

So I am guessing that you will be awarding Drury with the grumpiest poster 2010.As for your experiment i guess that any $10 you receive will be donated to a local Temple/Hospital?.
As for the invite to join in I will wait until next season thanks.
Maybe i will see you on Sukhumvit with your begging bowl :-)if your experiment is unsuccessful.

Not a bad stick!!!Thats debatable after reading his blog I see that he has his excuses ready the players are tired,Goalkeeper injury and Christian banned. So if they come unstuck he is covered has it not crossed his mind that Chonburi might play well and deserve to win the same as Thai Port last week? If he is a true football fan prehaps he will view the match on its merit.

If he is a true football fan prehaps he will view the match on its merit.
well said binnsy i want muangthong to win because buriram will then go into the A.F.C.but if not for that 100% i would want chonburi to win.
