Just had a look - as t_e said, it's for a couple of incidents at the Army game on Friday. 5,000 for the guy who ran on to the pitch, and 5,000 for throwing things at the ref. I was there with t_e, and saw the first incident, but not the 2nd - perhaps it happened as the ref left the pitch.
At Yamaha, the officials have to momentarily enter the stand as they walk off, so the potential is there.
Bizarre behaviour considering they're going to be champions again. Some of their fans are obviously sore winners.  Actually it was a draw. There was one fan who ran on the pitch and Wolfie and I were stood close to the stand, I watched the officials exit and saw nothing so it must have been an incredibly minor second incident. I wouldn't put it beyond the TFA to fine us simply because they have fined most of the other top teams over the last few weeks. In any case, who cares? It's last week's news, literally. |

Bizarre indeed. t_e and watched the guy after security chased him back into the stand (then left him alone) He'd come from a seat waaaay up the back and about half the pitch away. SRS, while I got the joke, if I were an MTU fan, I wouldn't have started to feel the title was safe until last night. SRS, while I got the joke, if I were an MTU fan, I wouldn't have started to feel the title was safe until last night. I made the comment to t_e at 0-1 down that I'd a feeling for a couple of weeks that, given Chonburi and MTU's recent results, somehow PEA were 'destined' to come through and win the league.
Only 4 more points required from the last 3 games. The remaining fixtures are: TTM Pitchit (H) Samut Songkram (A) TOT CAT (A) but it's really a home game Throw in the fact that Chonburi and PEA still have to play each other, I think it's pretty safe for the trophy engraver to start engraving Muangtong Utd as 2010 champions. |

Looking through the results of the last few seasons, I can't recall Muang losing a game at home. Some what of a fortress.
Last time i recall them losing at home was to Sriracha in the 2008 Div 1 title race.
Again, in 2009 they drew at home to Sricacha (could they be your bogey team?) and drew with Bangkok Utd and Chonburi
A good record to have. Only other non defated teams at home this season are Chonburi and PEA. Any surprise that they are the top 3?

Determined Desaeyere vows to attack 
Siaka Dagno’s strike separates the teams following the first-leg of the semi-final in Bangkok and the Thais will be without the influential Datsakorn Thonglao due to suspension for the return encounter in Aleppo.
Rather than adopt a more cautious approach, however, Desaeyere is looking to draw first blood against the Syrians in order to kill the tie off.
"We are planning to score a quick goal in order to surprise Al Ittihad," said the Belgian (pictured).
"We are going into the game with a big chance to advance and hopefully we can go through to the final with a good result.
"We recently had good results in the league but our focus is on the AFC Cup, where we produced some big surprises by beating Al Rayyan and Al Karamah and hopefully we can repeat our good results on Tuesday.

However, Valeriu will be unable to select Cameroonian Jude Vernyuy Kongnyuy or Omar Hemidi with both defenders ruled out through suspension.
"Hemidi is an international player and he has big experience in such games," he added.
"However, I hope we can find a good replacement and our fans must support us in big numbers in order to get a good result."

They must be kicking themselves that they didn't score the hat-full they should have scored in the 1st leg.

A good run and much kudos to MTU but possibly a bit more prioritizing is needed by the owners - even the mighty MTU cannot win everything.

I'm disappointed MTU didn't reach the final, but I think they should take a great deal of pride in getting as far as they did. It's a great achievement for a Thai side. Well done!!

I watched the Samut Songkhram v MTU game this evening on FBS hoping to see an exciting climax to the title race. Rather disappointingly it turned out to be a tame 0-0 affair. Nonetheless, it was enough to give Munagthong the title and at the end of the day the best team won the league.
Congratulations to the Ultras and I hope they enjoy the party atmosphere at the Yamaha on Sunday for the Chaeng Wattana derby.

Yes I heard it was poor, but consider the lads have been playing in the league, the AFC Cup, the FA Cup, the TLC and internationals with all the travelling and rubbish pitches that come with such a fixture list and you can understand why they look jaded. I agree with T_E that for the last couple of months MTU have looked exhausted. If it hadn't have been for the fixture pile up, you'd have won the league weeks ago.
The table at the end of the season will probably have PEA Buriram in second place but in reality they never been challengers for the top spot. Chonburi have been the main challengers throughout the campaign.
Next season will be interesting though. If MTU can hold on to their Thai contingent they'll start as favorites. But teams like PEA Buriram have money and are sure to invest if they want to win the league. For Muangthing's sake I hope they don't start to prize your star players away to the I-Mobile Stadium

Thai Premier League trophy stays at Yamaha stadium TOP OF THE LEAGUE: Muang Thong United celebrate winning the title yesterday after their draw with SCG Samut Songkhram. Muang Thong United retained the Thai Premier League crown after a scoreless draw at SCG Samut Songkhram yesterday .
Muang Thong have 64 points, four more than second-placed Buriram PEA with one match left.
At Samut Songkhram stadium, the Kirins were dominant throughout with Samut Songkhram goalkeeper Putthasart Boonpok the busiest man on the pitch.
Teerasil Dangda and Christian Koukakou came close to scoring for the visitors on a couple of occasions but Putthasart did well to stop their shots.
SCG defender Suksiam Chanmaneevech also cleared the ball off the line.
The second half was also one-way traffic. Kone Mohamed, who came on for Koukakou, went clear but Putthasart saved his attempt with his leg.
Muang Thong top scorer Dagno Siaka missed from just a few yards with only the goalkeeper to beat.
However, SCG almost spoiled Muang Thong's party in the final moments when Apinan Kaewpeela sent his free-kick just wide.
Muang Thong received 10 million baht in prize money.
 PROUD MOMENT: Kirins fans had plenty to celebrate last night. "We are very happy. But we still have to work hard because we still have two more competitions, the FA Cup and the League Cup," said Muang Thong coach Rene Desaeyere.
The trophy will be presented to Muang Thong after their final game against TOT-CAT tomorrow.
Muang Thong are the away team but TOT-CAT play their home games at Muang Thong's Yamaha stadium.
All tomorrow's matches kick off at 4.30pm.

I was hearing today at the game that you've nicked our left back Anucha from us - the story is that MT have almost trebled the wages he was on and are paying him more than the top earner at Pattaya earns to sign. He doesn't really want to go but his family have convinced him to "take the money". Sad if true but I suppose that's the way football is these days. Have you heard anything?

Newly-crowned champions Muang Thong United finished their season with a 2-1 victory over TOT CAT on the last day of the Thai Premier League season yesterday at Yamaha stadium.Muang Thong fans get a close look at their Thai Premier League trophy at Yamaha stadium yesterday.Muang Thong finished on 67 points, four ahead of runners-up Buriram PEA who beat Police United 4-2 yesterday.
The champions had to come from behind in yesterday's match after TOT CAT took the lead in the 43rd minute through Wicha Nantasri.
Muang Thong rallied in the second half with an equaliser from Christian Kouakou in the 75th minute and Dagno Siaka clinched the three points with a penalty in the 87th minute after he had been fouled by Arthit Daosawang.
After the match the Football Association of Thailand chairman Suwat Liptapanlop presented the league trophy to joint team captains Nataporn Phanrit and Jetsada Jitsawad.
It was the second successive year Muang Thong have won the title.
Chonburi took third place with a battling 1-1 draw after being reduced to nine men against Osotspa M-150 at Saraburi stadium.
Thai Port FC finished fourth after a 0-0 draw against Bangkok Glass FC at the Leo stadium. There were also 0-0 draws between TTM FC Phichit and BEC Tero Sasana, and Bangkok United versus Samut Songkhram FC.
Pattaya United beat Si Sa Ket 2-1 to finish in sixth place.
The Army finished in last place after losing 1-0 at home to Navy Rayong.
Next season is scheduled to kick off in February with 18 teams. The three relegated teams of the TPL will be in play-offs with the 4th, 5th and 6th placed teams in the 1st division. Two of those teams will play in the Thai Premier League next season.
Play-off teams: Si Sa Ket FC, Bangkok United and Army
Promoted to TPL: Sri Racha, Khon Kaen, Chiang Rai.
Play-off teams: 4th place Songkhla; 5th place Nakhon Pathom and 6th place Air Force United . |

The team from 99: Peter Schmeichel, Gary Neville, Jaap Stam, Ronny Johnsen, Denis Irwin, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, David Beckham, Jesper Blomqvist, Andy Cole, Dwight Yorke and, of course, Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. I can`t see it beeing any of the players from other United-finals. |
