arsene wenger hadn t been in england 2 minutes before he started whining. every coach has a good whine when they lose, and they blame soneone else...its what they do
both rp and rene said that they should have scored but they didn t and for that they indirectly blamed the team
if mtu are doing that most un thai thing of thinking long term then i don t think this will be a blow to the system. the biggest challenge they have is winning the tpl again.

its interesting when you say an indirectly blaming the team
As you were there jc, how long is it between the match and the press conference? Seems afc have made a system to catch out coaches straight after a match
i think this is the most discussed match in thai football history aswell, days after the match ans were still at it

when the coach says his team should have scored but didn t...read between the lines. put it this way. i believe they wil be happy that the headlines will be about the ref
press conference happened literally minutes after the game ended which i believe is normal
ususally i don t bother with them because you know in advance what is gonna be said. the losing team blames the ref, the winning coach is happy. same in england, same everywhere...only went cos i wanted some footage.
to recap imho i thought mtu played very well against a good, experienced team. danie bennet for example is a player you rarely notice and that s for one simple reason. he is so damned consistent

"when the coach says his team should have scored but didn t...read between the lines. put it this way. i believe they wil be happy that the headlines will be about the ref"
What? Even from 12 yards out with only the keeper to beat? How on earth can the ref be responsible for missed penalties? Or was he standing on the goal line as well?

But even after 120 goalless minutes they still had a chance to go through. This was down to the players being able to put the ball between the posts from twelve yards out with only the keeper in the way. Nobody* is to blame for this failure other than those who missed. *unless all that moving around that JC was having to do somehow distracted them. Then it's his fault!

Squad list AFC CupHere is the squad list from MTU for the AFC Cup. What I found realy strange is that they only nominated 21 Players, compared to TPFC. And neither Gokton or Zaizen are nominated. Why to leave two quality players out of the squad?

Loko, do you think that Muang will add the players when it comes to the knockout rounds (if they make it).
It could be a good bit of management, leave the stars at home to rest and prepare for TPL, rather than flying around for games that their understudies can probably do a job in?

Might be. We don't know the reasons are really behind. But they also could register them and leave them at home. Or do you think that 31 Players from TPFC will makte it to all games?

How many players are you allowed to register? I thought it was 25 or 28, something like that

If am right something around 30, but those had been the rules for the ACL. Can't imagine that they may differ in that point. And as the AFC posted the full squad lists, I guess 31 are ok for them. MTU registered only 21. So if even only 25, they still would have some space. I am realy looking forward for tomorrow. Whether Goktan will make his first cap.

But it won't work here. Zaizen could be the +1 Asien Player and Kone has the thai citizenship.

The plus 1 can be used by an Asian players. I don't see Zaizen in the list of players put forward by Muang. Looks like Muang aren't using a plus 1

Btw I didn't saw Goktan today. Neither on the field or the bench. So I start to worry a bit about him.

Thai League allow 7 foreign players in the team and 5 in the match.
So Thai rules allow teams to use as many foriegners as possible to win the league which hinders the clubs at international level when they suddenly have to dump 4 guys. Time FAT used the AFC 3+1

South China determined to improve performance HONG KONG: South China coach Kim Pan-gon described South China’s exit at the semi-final stage of the AFC Cup last year as having given his players the determination to go one better this year.
The Hong Kong side host Muang Thong United of Thailand at Hong Kong Stadium on Wednesday in their opening Group G game.
South China’s 2009 AFC Cup campaign was ended by eventual winners Kuwait SC in the last four and Kim is confident that experience has given his team the drive to reach the final this time.
“We have been looking forward to this competition for a long time,” said the Korean.
“We had a good experience last year and we have been concentrating all our efforts to ensure we can perform even better this time.
“Our target is to reach the final. We are stronger than last year, we didn’t have much experience prior to the tournament last time but now we do.”
South China cast their net wide following their AFC Cup exit last year in a bid to strengthen their side and made ambitious bids to bring players such as Seol Ki-hyeon and Marceo Rigters from Premier League sides Fulham and Blackburn Rovers respectively.
Neither attempts came off but Kim is confident in the players at his disposal to do what is asked of them.
“If we give our best and have some luck along the way we should get results in this tournament,” he added.
“Muang Thong are a good side and are well organised but I believe we can do well against them."
Muang Thong coach Rene Desaeyere has seen his preparations for the game disrupted by the Chinese New Year with fully booked flights preventing half of his squad being able to arrive in Hong Kong until Tuesday.
The defending Thai champions missed out on a place in the AFC Champions League following their qualifying play-off defeat to Singapore Armed Forces earlier this month.
But, after leading his side to victory in the King’s Trophy at the weekend, Desaeyere remains confident that despite the disruptions his side can still perform well against South China.
““It has made things difficult,” said the Belgian. “Half of the team could not fly here because of Chinese New Year and they only arrive tonight so we have had very little preparation.
“However, we won the King’s Trophy at the weekend and played well in Singapore despite the defeat so hopefully we will do well.”

Good idea. It solves the problem of segregation and it means that the home stands will be more or less full all the time.

As he stated recently that he likes LFC, I can't imagine he go to Utd. Nevertheless, taken it serious, frankly speaking I think EPL would be a to much for him in the first stage of his career. I have really becoming a fan of Kawin recently, and I can imagine that he is able to play in TOP League. But now...?

Maybe not yet but with a few more national games under his belt he would. I think that there would also be problems because Thailand are ranked outside the top 70(?). This was one of the main stumbling blocks when two of our lads were sent to the "Dark Side" a couple of years ago.

If Fergie wanted to make it happen, he would find away.
Anyway, Fergie wouldn't sign on such a young lad just like that. He would at least get him a tourist VISA and just let him come to training, no money involved, so not hurting the immigration rules.
Besides, any premier league club taking on an Asian keeper would be a big gamble. Look at that Bolton keeper Al Habsi, probably the best in Asia and has never got a look in.
Robson's promoting this lad, but he's probably promoting him too far up the ladder. Hes be better talking to his ex team mates and giving him an easier route into English football. But after all this fuss, i guess Robson is just doing his bit to promote the Thai game. A week or two being grilled by Fergie would probably break the lads heart anway!

Link: http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/sports/34308/good-opportunity-for-kawin Good opportunity for Kawin
Thailand coach Bryan Robson has recommended national goalkeeper Kawin Thamsatchanan to Manchester United "I told them that he is worth looking at," the former United skipper said yesterday. "I am trying to compile DVDs and will send them to Manchester United so that they can make a decision if they will invite him to go over there for a trial." He added: "As we know, Manchester United are one of the best teams in the world. Even one Thai player going there to improve himself would be a massive step for Thai football." The former England international is still a global ambassador for Man U. Kawin of Thai Premier League champions Muang Thong United was outstanding in Thailand's 1-0 defeat to Iran in an Asian Cup qualifier last week. Robson, who is in charge of both the full national side and the Asian Games (U23) team, said he would watch as many Thai Premier League matches as possible to find new players for both squads. Robson yesterday witnessed a contract signing ceremony between the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) and Beer Chang producer ThaiBev. The firm has extended its sponsorship for the FAT for another two years worth 30 million baht a year. The new deal expires next year.

Manchester United's marketing machine is probably drooling over the prospect of having a Thai goalkeeper on the books, if only for a two week trial, just think of all them counterfit shirt sales thay could miss out on!
Expect Man U to be in next years Phuket Kata Cup.
I do remember Bobby Robson drooling over Chaikmedee, but work permits and a very big gamble never got this off the ground.
I doubt Fergie knows how to work a DVD player, so I can't see Kawin moving off the ground either.
