India game is at Thunderdome.

t.e. did you heard anything about the friendly v Syria? I predict it will be played @ Thunderdome as well, but no official announcement yet.

Btw, that may cause some more troubles in the schedule for FA Cup and TLC. Guess we will see further rescheduling.

Fair enough Drury but I repeat (paraphrased): If he proves you wrong and becomes a respected European keeper, will you give him credit?

Of course I would give him credit Greg. I would like to give you credit aswell for spilling the beans as to where he will go. I find it hard to understand why you can't tell us. Someone with inside information couldn't wait to tell yourself, but your the good soul who won't tell.

Incredibly, the FAT has already realised there's a clash, and asked the TPL to reschedule Port v TTM and Osotspa v BG, both currently slated for the same day.

Chelsea ----> Reading -------> Fulham --------> Leicester

Admittedly this kid's only 12 years old, but isn't this what Drury is afraid will happen to Kawin?

India 2:1 Thailand

Goalscorers: Winothai (48), Kirati Keawsombut (64)

Debuts for Kabfah Boonmatoon (Osotspa) and Sujrit Jantakol (Sriracha).

Winothai and Kirati can book there seats alongside Sarayoot Chaikamdee upfront for the AFF Cup. Who will join them? Another one or two?

India 2:1 Thailand
India 1:2 Thailand !

Thais Produce Classy Display To Edge Past India At The Ambedkar
Quote
In a second half loaded with goals, India went down to Thailand at the Ambedkar Stadium with all the three goals scored by the visitors with one being an own goal.

An early second half striker by Teerathep gave Thailand the lead but India came back from an own goal by Kawin. Keerati, who was impressive throughout in his time on the pitch, scored the winner in the 64th minute.

India named an unchanged starting XI from the game which was played four days back in Bangkok against the same opponents with Bhaichung Bhutia on the bench. Thailand started with Wichaya and Khapfa on the two wings while Keerati and Teerathep forming the strikeforce.

It took just less than two minutes for the visitors to have an attempt on goal with Wichaya playing through Keerati as the latter’s shot was well collected by Subrata Paul.

The Elephants adjusted well to the conditions as they very easily got into their groove of shot, quick passes which saw the Indian midfield go missing from action.

Subrata Paul’s goal-kick was flicked on by Sunil Chhetri towards Mohammed Rafi in the 19th minute who attempted to slot the ball into the far corner but wasn’t successful in doing so.

A long ball from the back into the Indian half saw Keerati chase the ball and have a shy on goal as the alert Subrata Paul was at work again.

The very next minute saw Wichaya’s flag-kick come off the woodwork from a Keerati header as the Indian defence didn’t keep a close eye on the Thai striker.

N.P.Pradeep won a free-kick for the Men in Blue at the edge of the box as Steven Dias’ curler didn’t find the back of the net.

Around the half hour mark, Wichaya’s free-kick bounced right in front of Subrata Paul which made it difficult for him to collect which allowed Thailand to have a shot on goal but the danger was avoided.

The 36th minute saw India’s luck coming handy again as Keerati and Wichaya combined with the latter’s shot coming off the crossbar.

In the final ten minutes of the first session, Thailand had another two shots as Keerati’s effort was saved by Subrata Paul while Natthaphong’s long ranger once again hit the crossbar.

Off a quick counter launched, Teerathep gave his side the lead as he eased past the Indian defence just three minutes after the break after being played from the midfield.

India did come back into the game as a lucky deflection landed at the feet of Anthony Pereira, who by then had occupied a the right wing slot after the substitution of Steven Dias, crossed for Chhetri which was blocked by goalkeeper Kawin. Pradeep’s header off the rebound hit Ponlawat and Kawin before finding the back of the net at the hour mark.

The Thais weren’t going to be tamed so soon as Wichaya’s cross from the left saw skipper Nataporn’s header being stopped by the woodwork yet again with Keerati being around to guide the ball in with his low diving header.

Bhaichung Bhutia made his way into the match for the final 20 minutes so and had an acrobatic attempt which went wide after Pradeep chested the ball for him.

Astonishingly, seven minutes were added on and the most notable moment came in the 95th minute as Bhaichung was brought down by Suttinun as the referee awarded a free-kick which didn’t please the Sikkimese Sniper one bit as he believed that a penalty would have been a fair decision.

The scoreline remained the same until the end as Bryan Robson continued his fantastic work with the Thais while  Indian national team would have to improve before the next game against Namibia scheduled on the 15th of this month.

What a F%$*ing joke!! I just wish that the Thai clubs would tell them where to stick this. This season is rapidly becoming a farce.

And I've never forgiven Leicester City for stealing Alan Young.

I sincerely hope so. We've been severely deprived of football just lately. I think that the authorities really need to organise a few more matches to keep us happy. I'm getting withdrawal symptoms.

Am I right in thinking that the Leicester match is in place of the previously announced Argentina game? Therefore, those league fixtures scheduled for the 9th will be moved to the 13th?

Not mad keen on them but they usually give us a money-spinning friendly every year and I had some good times at London Road in the early nineties.

Yes, it is. It also struck me as odd that they would travel out here mid-season, especially when you consider how much English club managers usually bitch about the travel commitments of a few players, let alone a whole team. I'm willing to bet there won't be many first team players making the trip.

And what sort of crowd will this match get? This is why I think it might be played in Buriram. They'll be guaranteed a full house there.

Well, Leicester's new owners/sponsors are the same as BPEA - King Maker Power.

Oh, wouldn't it be ironic; Vinnie gets his wish for friendlies outside Bangkok/Nonthaburi, and it's at I-Mobile Stadium Smiley

At least as a 'home' fan, he'll be able to take his umbrella Wink

That would make interesting viewing at the turnstiles. Instead of taking your ticket, they give you 100 baht.

I would have to be paid a heck of a lot more than 100 baht to go to such an awful facade of a football match.

How strange that FAT ever agreed to play Syria when teams from the same nation are playing in an AFC Cup game only two days before in Syria.

One thing that strikes me is that Syria were going to play China on 8th Sept and it got moved back to October. So I assume they cancelled or moved Thailand game to October aswell?

Most likely the Thai NT will take on Leceister City instead of an All-Star team. But not sure whether the squad will contain players for the Asian Games only.

Most likely the Thai NT will take on Leceister City instead of an All-Star team. But not sure whether the squad will contain players for the Asian Games only.

Just reading news on TLO:

Worawi announced yesterday that the Thai national team will play Leicester City on 9 October, instead of a TPL All-Star side.

He also announced a 4-team "Pre-Asian Games" tournament between Thailand, Qatar (Asian Games champions), Vietnam and Singapore will be played at Supachalasai from 27 October - 1 November. This will feature the Asian Games squad (U-23). The squad will then leave for Gwangzhou on the 4th to prepare for the tournament, which runs from 19-27 November.

Still no venue announced for the Leicester game. The first comment below the article asks if it will be played at Rajamangala

Isn't the FA Cup final scheduled for the 30th October?

I'm not sure. The article uses the word 'invite(d)' a few times. But surely Worawi wouldn't announce this without confirmation, would he?  Wink

I'm sure he wouldn't. Wink But he would try an organise a tournament for the same weekend that the FA Cup final is scheduled. That speaks volumes.

Tin-foils hats off lads. According to the news on TLO, Thailand will play Leicester City on 9 October at Supachalasai at 6pm. Newin may have stolen Christmas and the PEA, but he hasn't got his mitts on the national team yet.

For Leicester fans (and stalkers), the full programme is something like:
3rd Oct: Fly out from Leicester to Kuala Lumpur (flight D72009).
4th: Arrive in Phuket at 2105 (flight AK828).
4th-6th: Stay at Khao Lak Sea View Resort and Spa.
7th: Fly to Bangkok (FD3026), arriving at Suwannaphum at 1410. Stay at Pulman Bangkok (King Power?) Hotel
8th: Training at Supachalasai at 1800.
9th: Play Thailand at 1800 at Supachalasai.

Tickets available from Thai Ticket Major, Star Soccer branches (basement of Central Lat Prao; 2nd floor Panthip Plaza; 2nd floor Seacon Square), and at the stadium from 1400 on matchday. Tickets go on sale on Friday, 1st October. Prices are 1000, 500 and 200 baht. Students may purchase tickets in the 200 baht zone at half-price.

I hope for Newin's sake that he puts on plenty of free buses from Buriram. Because if he doesn't the crowd may be less than 1000.

Leicester got trounced 6-1 by Pompey last night. If Preston win today, Leicester City will be bottom of the Championship.

They should knock a zero off the ticket prices and make them 100, 50 and 20 Baht. Students should be given 200 Baht to watch this game.
