It's looking more likely after today's results. Smiley

Chonburi 1 Osotspa 1

Two points dropped. We should have had this match wrapped up but we let them back into it and nearly let them steal it at the end. Still, we remain in second and BEC Tero got hammered 6-2 live on national tv  Smiley Smiley

Big game next week, away against PEA FC.

Before Chonburi F.C. beated Tero @their home ground, Tero was on the top of the table, wasn't it?

So next week, the leader of the table may changed again!?!?

Not that bad.
The Goal Difference between The Sharks and T.O.T. is still a big gap.
But we don't look forward to count the goal difference, do we?

A big turnout of Chonburi fans is expected tomorrow. A number of buses will be leaving throughout the day with the first one scheduled to depart at 9:00am. I can't wait for this match!!

We're due to make a signing this week. If it's who I've been lead to believe it's someone I rate very highly. However, it's another defender!!! I'd prefer us to sign a striker!!!!!

Yeah, think you need strikers, your defence seems very good!  Which makes me think Chonburi play in a 5-4-1 formation  or all out defend.

Forget the championship, create records with clean sheets

Here's a link to some great photos from PEA FC v Chonburi FC :

http://www.pantip.com/cafe/supachalasai/topic/S6945892/S6945892.html

A good win last night. We started off like an express train and I thought that we were going to score a hatful of goals. However, we seemed to fade in the second half. I don't think that the result was ever in doubt but it wasn't as convincing as I thought it was going to be.

Kone Mohammed has returned from Vietnam. He looked a little off the pace but played for the whole match. I spoke with him afterwards and he admitted that he probably wasn't match fit and had been surprised that he was in the starting line up. Still, he is very valuable (re) addition to the squad.

We just need to keep winning now and hope that PEA slip up. After last night's results it's looking more and more like a two horse race. But, you can never be sure!!

One of our former players in trouble. I hope they throw the book at him if it's true. There's absolutely no place for this in the game.

Fabiano to face Independent Disciplinary Committee
Monday, 15 September 2008

Football Federation Australia (FFA) this afternoon announced the outcome of the deliberations of the independent Match Review Panel into the Red Card issued to Ney Fabiano of Melbourne Victory.

Fabiano was issued with a Red Card in the 29th minute of Friday night's Hyundai A-League match between Melbourne Victory and Adelaide United for spitting at a player (R3 offence).

The Match Review Panel firstly considered the appeal submitted by Fabiano on the grounds of an obvious error in application. The appeal was dismissed.

As the minimum sanction for spitting at a player is five matches plus the mandatory match suspension, the Match Review Panel has referred the matter for hearing and determination to the independent Disciplinary Committee for a hearing to be convened in Sydney in the evening of Wednesday 17 September 2008.

The hearing will be open to interested media subject to media representatives agreeing to certain terms and conditions. Media will be informed of hearing details by noon Wednesday.

That's a big surprise as I don't think he's been at his best this season. I always get the impression that the people who compile these lists never actually go to the games.

Good luck to him though. It'll be nice for Chonburi to pick up another honour Wink

I thought it was a bit of a surprise myself, but i didn't really want to say anything as i can't judge.

But from what i understand, the people who get on the shortlist are the people who have scored points in certain areas, such as clean sheets, goals scored and man of the match performances, but only included for AFC Competitions, so i'm assuming Kosin got points in the Champions League and also suggest why a KTB player is in the list aswell, because he scored a hat full against a Vietnamese side.

So basically, you could play crap all year long, and have 1 or 2 good matches to score highly

Shark was so kind to introduce me to Kosin's Goalkeeperscoach. He is from Germany and his name is Franz Schwarzwaelder. So I just want to correct some figures about him. He was playing 63 times for Nuremberg in the 2nd Bundesliga. Not for Schalke as Shark told me. Wink Two big accidents may have cost him a bigger career, as he was close siging for Bundesliga side Kaiserslautern. But an accident, destroyed that. He also was playing German U-21 together with such kind of (later) great players like Schwarzenbeck, Hoeness, Fischer.

Final score 2-2.

Chonburi fielded a team of mainly triallists and new signings including six Brazillians.

Zico wasn't there and Jaded was in charge.

My wife won a Rayong FC shirt in the raffle Smiley

My new banner, "Pattaya FC. No History. No Tradition. No Morals. Say, "NO" to Franchise Football", made it's debut.

Rock on Smiley

Shark, I agree with your oppinion, but in fact, I think and believe that a Pattaya based club, will bring more awareness to the TPL at all. Outside and inside Thailand. And so at least you can see this as a positive point. Not matter what they have and where they come from. Remember, our actual leader of the table in Germany, is a team with no history, and no tradition. But everybody is exited about the club, cause of the football they are playing.  And only the old school sups want to see them going down asap. But they turnt the attantion once more to the BL, inside and outside. The game vs Bayern last week, brought us a record of 167 countries, who broadcasted the game. And everybody during the whole was thrilled about the match. Even my pub a saw a record of around 70 people inside, and a few which had to watch from outside through the window. As they coudn't find any space inside. I am an old school football guy, but some things, you can't change, and simply have to accept. ......unfortunately...

Huh , You all are Chonburi fans   Huh?   So did you know this news    Huh?
VA coaching course for Chonburi
KUALA LUMPUR: AFC is hoping to conduct a C Coaching Course in Chonburi in next month as part of the activity plan for Vision Thailand Project Chonburi.

AFC President Mohamed Bin Hammam (C) meeting with Vitaya Khunplome, Chief Executive of the Provincial Administrative Organisation of Chonburi during the Vision Thailand workshop earlier this year.
The objective is to help more coaches gain a recognised qualification prior to the start of the Chonburi provincial league, which is scheduled to kick off around March.

Chonburi, which is a province just east of Thai capital Bangkok, is acting as the pilot project for Vision Thailand.

One of the key elements of Chonburi’s strategic development plan is the establishment of a viable amateur league to give players a chance to gain regular competition.

In order to ensure a smooth league, it is necessary to prepare coaches, referees and administrators to meet the challenges.

Thailand is one of 14 countries that come under Vision Asia, which is AFC’s grand plan to raise the level of football throughout the continent.

Chonburi lost 0-2 against Bodoglimt from Norway on Saturday. A decent game but hard to get a real feel for our season as most of the squad were either out injured (Pipob and Kiatprawut) or on international duty. That said, we did play a very precise passing game and got the ball out wide a lot more than we were doing last year. So I'm quite optimistic ahead of the coming campaign.

The Norwegians brought on a big strapping Brazilian centre forward at half time. He made all the difference. Scored an absolute cracker with virtually his first touch and then gave the defenders a hard time for the rest of the afternoon. I wish we had him!!

Most of the Norwegian ex-pat community were in attendance so, for a friendly, there was a good atmosphere.

when will Chonburi's new stadium be ready? what will its capacity be and does anyone have photos of it?

When I was last there, for the Pre Queen's Cup matches a couple of weeks ago, there was no sign whatsoever of any work being done.

It's difficult to see how they are going to make an fully enclosed ground with the space available, unless they lose the running track or move the pitch around.

Someone did tell me that we'd be at Sirinthorn for the whole of this season. That's good for me Smiley
