Obviously it didn't bring enough luck. Maybe the whole squad should have changed their names? :-)
(Sorry Dale, it's a one off, I promise!)
I said at the time he should have changed it to David James.

Thanks for this. I created a new category on my website. Called Abseits des Platzes, freely translated it can mean "Beside the pitch" or "Offside the pitch". As Abseits, can have those two different meaning in German. Anyway, your interview with Alldo is now featuring my new website, and it is the first one in this category. So I translated the whole interview. @ SRS, would you mind to change the email add of alldo? Replace the @ with at. http://thai-fussball.de/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=8

Would that be regulation 5.9? But the FAT has only been around since 1916, whereas the Chonburi league has been around for a few months, so you can't expect our governing body to have these kinds of rules and regulations in place yet.

Just picked this statement up on the AFC website, i'm assuming CFC had 3,000 minimum capacity to play at home. Read on.....
However, participation in the play-offs is conditional on the teams fulfilling AFC criteria for professionalism, including clubs being registered as commercial entities.
Other requirements include having a minimum number of players under professional contracts, encouraging youth development and the use of a home stadium with a minimum capacity of 3,000 seats.

"Seats" might be the key word there. We certainly have space for 3,000 but only about 150/200 seats. The rest is just plain old terracing.

I agree but that is probably a loop hole. I'm assuming that it is also the reason those plastic seats were installed at the National Stadium.

Is his 'I miss the passion of the fans' remark going down well with the Chonburi faithful? I always take these remarks with a pinch of salt. There's not really much else players can say in this sort of situation. Unless it's, "I'm only here for the money, and a bit of match practise, until I can find something else."

There's a lot of re-writing of history going on at Newcastle. The last time I was at St James Park the place was nearly empty. Huge gaping holes all round the ground with the Gallowgate End particularly sparsly populated. If it hadn't been for the 3,500/4,000 Oldham fans the place would have been like a morgue. Where were those passionate Geordie fans then?

I'm a bit of a student of attendances, and it's interesting to note that so many clubs which are considered 'big' were getting very small attendances realtively recently. Wolves - the latest 'big club back where they belong' - were averaging 4,000 in the mid-eighties. West Ham were getting 10,000ish at the start of the nineties. I remember a gate of 6,000 at Ayresome Park when Millwall played Middlesbrough in 92 or 93. Chelsea used to get very low attendances in the eighties. And it was only in the 1990s when Celtic attracted 13,000 for a league game.

In fact the only two teams that have maintained the same level of support during my 40+ years of following football have been Liverpool and M*n U*d - U*d's attendances only dropped when they were rebuilding the ground and couldn't fit everybody in. But all the rest have reinvented themselves somewhat in recent years. I can remember being at the old Stamford Bridge with about 10,000 in it!

i can remember days at arsenal when we had 13000 ++. one game against swansea we had 29000 and it was one of the biggest of the season
recall a 28000 at anfield one night as well
middlesbro v carlisle with 6000 in the year they nearly went bust.
nearly everybody went through a bad spell in the early 80s except oldham of course who i once saw at cardiff and had 18000 packed in ninian park!!in fact the queues outside were so long they shifted the game to cardiff arms park and we all had 30 mins to get across town which i just about managed thanks to a spacehopper i found outside a chinese take away along the canton road
recall going to leeds one night with the arse and we had about 200 there. 3 years later we took 12000 to villa park for a league cup tie

Also, Hull, Cardiff and Fulham were all getting 3,000-4,000 in recent memory. Changing tack slightly, no country can beat Germany at the moment for average attendances. In the 2008-09 season, eleven Bundesliga clubs averaged over 40,000. That compares with seven in England, four in Spain and two each in Italy, France and Scotland. (guess which two in Scotland )

SRS, there had been a report on your side, in German, about the 4Sups. But since you restrctured your site I am not able to find it anymore. Even the link you posted under the interview with Klaus, running into nowhere. Could you pls check and give me the link? As Lulu joined my website recently, I like to post this report. Edit: I managed to find it in the meantime. Neverhteless the link under the interview needs to be corrected I guess.

From KallangRoar forum: "Chonburi FC have completed the signing of Thai playmaker "Terdsak Chaiman" From Singapore Armed Forces in S-league". by csloxinfo55 Have you heard about this one SRS? Let's hope Jadet remembers not to select any ineligible players : . The FA might not be so lenient to Chonburi!

I've archived the 2004 Thailand Provincial League Division One season here : http://www.clubwebsite.co.uk/chonburifc/season_archive.plIf you click on the "Read Report" link it will give you all the results for that week. We certainly have a score to settle with Sisaket next season I hadn't heard about the signing, Marco, so thanks for that.
