But that's my point - they just don't know what to do. They are supposedly in charge - and I bet they enjoy taking home their fat (FAT?) paychecks home every month - but they are completely incapable of managing. Certain people are too busy sucking up to ex-M*n U*d players than earning their salaries. There have been so many incosistencies this season (I'll keep it to this season) and nobody really can explain the logic behind any of the decisions. If they were a properly run organisation they would have proper policies in place so that when something happens there is a statutory punishment to fit the crime. At the moment they're just making it up as they go along. It's f'ing ridiculous. I've played in Sunday leagues that are more efficiently run and by blokes who have full time jobs as well as their administration duties. The BKK Casuals League was certainly better organised when I used to play in it 10-12 years ago. The match security is a different issue altogether. But I agree with you (Nigb), deal with it swiftly and properly. If the perps (sorry, too much CSI ) had been removed from the situation sooner, and kept away, we probably wouldn't be discussing this particular incident. The silver lining is that with the large numbers of people now following Thai league football, there are far more winesses to the FAT's apparently random decision-making process than ever there was in the past.

I'd like to think that will be the case but I'm feeling extremely pessimistic at the moment. Who will question their decision making? Why aren't the SriRacha board banging on FAT's door re the three points? Why haven't the AFC already intervened, or at least commented on, some of the decisions? Why aren't the fans of various clubs up in arms? Why aren't we planning a mass protest at tomorrow's game? It's not what we're used to, is it?

Navy Rayong 0 Chonburi 1 There was a five minute period on Sunday morning when I seriously considered not even bothering going to this game. I was sitting in my favourite chair with a pot of tea, a plate of toast and I was catching up with the weeks events in Ambridge on The Archers. I felt quite content. The disappointment of the last week, coupled with the extreme and totally unfair punishment dished out by the pompous oafs at FAT, had left me feeling a might indifferent to all things TPL. Thanks SRS. As I never had heard of a few cities from this league I started to take a look into Google Maps. So than I was wondering why clubs, which are obviously are not related to Chonburi province, are participating that league? And what is this SriRacha FC thing? Is it the same club but like a 2nd squad?

As far as I'm aware SriRacha FC is a completely different SriRacha FC from the one which plays in the TPL. It's a bit like Fleetwood Mac - now there's an obscure rock 'n' roll reference for you. I'll be updating the list of fixtures over the next couple of days and I plan to add the results and update the table after every round. Yes, I'll be supporting SRFC, even though we'll be playing "out of town". I'm looking forward to away trips against Koh Jan and Koh Sichang

As the Chonburi League is a completely separate entity to Chonburi FC can someone explain why it has been merged with this thread. Thank you.

I've just found out that the plan on Sunday is for the fans to go to Supachalasai but stay OUTSIDE as a protest. I'm definitely up for that. Apparantely all the gate receipts will be going into FAT's pockets. I wonder if the Thai Port fans will support us? I love my club. And I love our fans. This has brought a big stupid grin to my face. The fact that our fans are boycotting a match at a time when 15,000 plastic fans are celebrating "their" team winning the league makes it even sweeter. I am so proud to be a Chonburi fan today. Can't wait for Sunday.

I spoke to some TPFC fans, and the general feeling was that they'd be happy to join in a protest before the match, but they want to go see the game. They were unaware of any protest, so you might need to get some Chonburi fans to post something on the Thai Port forum if you want something to happen. They suggested that a better protest would be if all the Chonburi fans turned up at Thunderdome to let Worawi Makudi (who will be there to present the TPL Trophy to Muangthong Utd) know exactly what you think of him.

That's fair enough. If they want to watch the match, then I don't blame them. I'm really excited about the protest. Worawi can present the trophy in front of as many plastic fans as he likes. We'll be OUTSIDE Supachalasai on Sunday. That's good enough for me. MTUFC fans are a bunch of Glory Hunters, as far as I'm concerend.

It would be great if you could get some MTU fans to join in the protest before the match. I am really worried that Chonburi may be being bullied into falling in line in a corrupt power grabbing game of management.

I don't care. Our fans are making a stand. We have been following Thai football for years so what we do is worth a million times more than what happens at the Blunderdome on Sunday. As far as I'm concerned you can stick the TPL and the people who run it. I feel so proud of our fans and our protest. This is something that I really want to be a part of. I can't wait until Sunday.

Slighty going off subject, but SRS do you recall a player named Hardi Bujang playing for CFC?
Apparently he is a Brunei international, played for Chonburi in 2006 and this season will be featuring in the Indonesian league. Apparently he has already signed a contract to go to Oman in 2012 (quite why he's signed now is beyond me).
Seem's Chonburi are a kind of stepping stone for many players.
Oh, by the way, can you tell me who was Chonburi's leading goalscorer in 2006? I'm having a bit of a dispute with some dude who says it was Tana Chanabut with 6 goals, although he does claim 4 of these were for Coke-Bangpra (remember them) but for some reason he also states that them 4 goals are awarded to Chonburi because he want on loan to them. This is a new rule to me! If only you can carry points and goals on to the league. Must be a Makudi rule!!

I can't say that I do remember him. Our leading scorer in 2006 was probably Ismael. I'll check this out. I'm currently working through the season by season stats. Thana came on loan last season. The goals do carry for the player but the team don't benefit in any way.

I suspect it is not so easy for police to single out the purpotrators in a group given the dominating group mentality.

If the FAT is having such a close realtionship to the England FA, maybe they should use it. And the FA might be able to send some police instructors to Thailand and share experiances with large crowds. Southafrica ,e.g., was hiring some police man from Germany, using their experiance from the WC 06, to got the Africans trained.

I've been updating the 2009 season stats over on my site. So far I've managed to cover the period December 2008 to May 2009. There are still one or two gaps so if anyone can help me fill them in, I'd be really grateful. You can either pm me, e mail me or leave a message on here. Thanks Here's the link : http://www.clubwebsite.co.uk/chonburifc/fixtures_table.plI'll be updating June later today or tomorrow.

Tell me something Dale: How come I saw about five Chonburi shirts in Hua Hin? Is it just that they are popular or is there some other affiliation? Also, why doesn't a place as big and important as Hua Hin have its own team?

Way back in the mists of time(about 12 months ago), when ALL other Thai clubs were playing to crowds that amounted to one man and his dog and only a dedicated few were remotely interested in local football, a small provincial team enjoyed a modicum of success. They won the TPL title and flew the flag for Thailand in the AFC Champions League. As there were no other teams who could dream of such things, people from all over the kingdom, the governing body and the media clung to their coat-tails. And, as a result of this golden era, you will find Chonburi "fans" all over the nation. Ah, those were the days. Just wait until my book comes out

All the individual player statistics for the 2009 season have now been updated. These stats include The Kor Royal Cup, The AFC Cup, The FA Cup and The TPL. The records for pre-season friendlies, mid-season friendlies and The Queen's Cup can be found on the Fixtures & Results page, just click on the Read Report link. There are still a couple of gaps - I don't have a record of the substitutes for the TPL away games at Samut Songkhram & TTM Samut Sakorn and the line ups and scorers for a couple of pre and mid season matches - butI'm still working on it so please check back.
