Quality goal by J.M Benie! Shocked Byrne's wasn't a bad effort either! Have a word with the boys about that chicken dance celebration...It has got to go Grin.

What did you think of TTM striker Paul Bekombo? I've seen him play a couple of times and I think he looks very useful! I was told that Bangkok Glass had a bid of 500,000 baht for him turned down during the midseason break, and are going to be back in for him at the end of the season.

TTM seem to be good at scoring last minute goals...They've done it against Thai Port twice this season  :Smiley.

For what it's worth I think if Chonburi avoid defeat againt MTU, you'll win the League. Muang Thong have the much tougher fixtures (despite being at home for 4 of the last 5 games).

MTU Remaining games - Samut Songkhram (h), Chonburi (h), TTM (a), Osotspa (h), BEC Tero (h)

Chonburi Remaining games - Nakhon Pathom (a), MTU (a), Chula (h), Navy Rayong (a), Thai Port (h)

"What did you think of TTM striker Paul Bekombo?"

I was singing his praises in an interview I did with Jakarta Casual earlier in the season. However, he was pretty anonymous on Sunday.

Tanks alldo. I wish I was as confident. So far it's been a carbon copy of last season's run in when we failed to capitalise every time PEA dropped points.

Second part of the Bruce Campbell interview can be found here :

http://www.clubwebsite.co.uk/chonburifc/club_news.pl?id=235525

Bruce Campbell: "...most players still are not professional in their behaviour - both on and off the field".

Steve Darby: "It's a myth that angers me about indisciplined Thai players. They are better pros than many nations, and I include England in that".

Bruce Campbell: "I'm very pleasantly surprised to see the Thai League improving, particularly the quality of the pitches".

Steve Darby: "Liverpool complained (rightly) about the [pitch at the] national stadium, even that's nowhere near the standard it should or could be. It's even worse at lower levels and how can kids develop a great technique on awful pitches".

It's interesting how two experienced coaches can develop polar opposite opinions having had the same experiences. The comments on discipline are particualrly intriguing. They've both worked with Thai players - in some cases the same players and yet one says their professionalism stinks while the other says they are better pros than the English. I'm not out to make a point - just an observation, that's all.

PERSIB TO SIGN KOSIN ON LOAN SPELL

JAKARTA (25 Sept 2009) – Persib Bandung are almost certain to land Thailand’s top goalkeeper Kosin Hathairattanakool on a four-month loan spell following the injury to their current No. 1 Tema Mursadat.

With the Indonesian Super League (ISL) due to start next month, Persib Bandung are in a spot following the continued unavailability of Tema.

But even though Persib have almost confirmed their signing of Kosin, still the later will only be available sometime in November.

Kosin (pix) is still with Thai Premier League side Chonburi FC and where they are now in a two-horse race against Muang Thong United for the title this year.

“Kosin will miss two matches for Persib (against PSM Makassar and Persiba Balikpapan). We are looking for him to play for us for at least four months or half a season,” added Umuh Muchtar, the manager for Persib Bandung.

Umuh said that the reason for the loan spell is also because Kosin will be attending trials with J-League side Gamba Osaka in March.

Persib is hopeful that by then, Tema will be back in action for the club.

Either way, he won't be having a proper pre-season with Chonburi.

Hopefully he can make it with Gamba. But will he burn himself out? Surely he needs some kind of break mentally?

According to the article he is in Japan for a trial! And in my interpretion it means he is there maybe for 2 weeks. No contract, nothing. Simply a trial. If he fails, he go back to CFC. If he can convinse Gamba, he might get a contract.

Chonburi's Kiatisuk will return to Vietnam as HAGL's head coach in V-League 2010?

In fact, Kiatisuk is still working for HAGL and current job as Chonburi's coach is just a part time job.
HAGL needs a good coach who is ambitious and know well about the team.
After seeking from China, South Korea but failed to find such one, HAGL then find it's time to call back Kiatisuk to V-League.

The disallowed goal comes around 1:50. He is clearly ONSIDE!!!!

I wonder if that linesman will get a three month ban? Shocking. There are definitely questions to be asked about some of the things that have gone on this season.

Seriously?

If so, that is madness. I'm obviously unhappy that he got it wrong but this is no way to deal with it. The football authorities in this country leave me speechless. Fools!!

From www.thaileaguefootball.com

FAT demands Chonburi use Supachalasai Stadium for final home match following security problems at Sirindhorn after Chonburi v Chula match. Chonburi appealing to host the match at PE College, Chonburi and banning fans from attending.

Oh, for f*&ks sake. These people are the biggest bunch of tossers imaginable. They are totally clueless. Talk about double/triple/quadruple standards.

If this is how they "manage" things they can stick their TPL where the sun don't shine!!

And, yes, I'm f*&king angryAngry

According to this it was FAT and "representatives of the 16 TPL clubs" who imposed the penalty. Effing hypocrites. Think of all the incidents that have occured at other grounds already this season. At least two serious crowd disturbances at Rayong. And what about Thai Port and P*ttaya? What was their punishment? A fine or sweet FA.

I'm not condoning the behaviour of those fans involved but for f's sake, show some consistency. I'm absolutely fuming about this. I bet all the smarmy bustards who've looked on with envy for the last few years are rubbing their greasy little palms in glee over this.

Also the Post report says that it was the ref and not the linesman who has been banned.

What's that smell?

What's it got to do with "representatives of the 16 TPL clubs"? Surely the FA should be making these decisions for themselves. Until they (the FA) start acting in a professional and consistent manner, then the TPL will never improve.

Don't hold your breath, Marco. They are, at best, incompetent fools and, at worst - well, I don't even want to go there.

I was in the process of writing something for my site congratulating MTUFC on their (likely) title win - they have been the best footballing side this year - but now I'm going to scrap it and focus on the %$#@$ who run football in this country. You can't begin to imagine how annoyed I am by this. It's tainted the whole season for me. And denied me a last trip to Srindhorn, a place that is full of happy memories.

And they can stuff their FA Cup . I was going to the final but there's no way that I'll be anywhere near the place now. I'm sure I won't be missed Wink

Can you give us any details of how many people were involved in this "incident"? Whilst not condoning any violence against the people from Siam Sport TV, it seems very harsh to punish the whole club, and it's fans for the actions of a few morons. Especially in the light of how the FA have failed to punish other clubs for similar things.

From what I saw, standing about 10 yards away, there was only one person throwing punches. The rest of the pushing and shoving was down to a couple of others trying to pull him away. I think the word is "handbags". A crowd of about 30 - 40 people had gathered. It may have looked menacing but when the Chula fans walked through it they were APPLAUDED.

Again, I'm not condoning it either but I agree with you. The individual should be punished - especially as everyone knows who he is - and not the whole club. I've dealt with worse in the playground! FAT and "the 16 representatives" have completely f'ed up on this one.

It's a shame that Nigb didn't have his camera rolling, although I'm glad it was switched off for my little hissy fit earlier Wink

SRS - things get very dramatic and then blow over very fast in this place, we don't know whats going to happen in the final match.

The thing I am shocked with is the security and police behaviour. In a crowd of thousands there are sure to be some idiots, but the police show no common sense in managing them.  From what I saw on Sunday (and many times before) two fans attacked someone, the security intervened to stop the attack but then the fan is released back into the crowd to return about 1 minute later where the exact same thing happens.
If a fan, or anyone does something so destructive or severe as attacking someone or even invading the pitch they need to be detained immediately, even if its only for an hour or the evening. Security and police need to show the crowd that anyone acting like this loses their rights and freedom. Instead they stop matches for 20 minutes then give stupid bans and fines to the clubs which solve no problem.
If this this type of management of security continues expect this result - A match will degenerate into chaos started by a couple of idiots then spreading out to the over filled stadium and some real ugliness will occur. The FAT will react by banning some clubs from all competition and maybe scrap the entire league, who knows.

my request to security and police in Thailand -  act swiftly and severely with the individual involved (detain them, ban them), then lets get on with the game.

Nigb I agree but everything you said should also be extended to so-called team staff who rush onto the pitch to intimidate refs.

I have many questions and points to make about the Chonburi game but I need time to oragnise them.

But that's my point - they just don't know what to do. They are supposedly in charge - and I bet they enjoy taking home their fat (FAT?) paychecks home every month - but they are completely incapable of managing. Certain people are too busy sucking up to ex-M*n U*d players than earning their salaries.

There have been so many incosistencies this season (I'll keep it to this season) and nobody really can explain the logic behind any of the decisions.

If they were a properly run organisation they would have proper policies in place so that when something happens there is a statutory punishment to fit the crime. At the moment they're just making it up as they go along. It's f'ing ridiculous.

I've played in Sunday leagues that are more efficiently run and by blokes who have full time jobs as well as their administration duties. The BKK Casuals League was certainly better organised when I used to play in it 10-12 years ago.

The match security is a different issue altogether. But I agree with you (Nigb), deal with it swiftly and properly. If the perps (sorry, too much CSI Wink) had been removed from the situation sooner, and kept away, we probably wouldn't be discussing this particular incident.

Footage of the crowd trouble --> http://thaiportfc.blogspot.com/2009/10/chonburi-vs-thai-port-venue-changed.html

It starts off with some Chonburi fans burning the Siam Keela newspaper, and then escalates when some of employees of Siam Keela try to get back to their vehicle.

Like I said before, you can easily identify the morons who were involved from this video. Chonburi FC should ban them from the Stadium. The Thai FA could give Chonburi a public slap on the wrists and maybe a small fine. Hopefully that would encourage them to improve security around the ground. It would also send out a message to other TPL clubs, and would be a fitting punishment for the minor crime. Making them move to Suphachalasai for the final game is way too harsh a punishment in my opinion.
