Hi Loko & SRS,
I actually did traslated them in segments to test the reraction.
Things involving foreign players, quality of playing fields and qualities of those three players Darby had signed.

I was a bit reluctant about translating Darby's support for football betting legalization at first for fearing it could tarnish his immage, especially, at this every moment. I, however, did translated Part One in its entirety after teasing the audience Tongue with parts of Part II in which, in my opinion, reaction has been very positive.

I felt people formed their own opinions about Darby knowing 15-25% about him. Now that many got to know him better as I came very close to doing the PR for him.   :Smiley

Chonburi website should get a few extra hits as the result of that as I noticed from the thank you notes.

Here is where I posted it. http://www.thailandsusu.com/webboard/index.php?topic=65965.0
1286 hits last time I checked.

Interesting stuff! Am I being a bit too sensitive in thinking that they shouldn't really have been calling themselves Pattaya Number 8 School? Nevertheless, a good cup story and let's hope they go the whole hog and join the Regional League next year.

But maybe didn't had any other chance. If they don't have any own facilities or soemthing like that. It's not the firtst time for me seeing that in worldfootball. Even I can't remember any other example.

But if they might realy enter into a league, I would appreciate they change their club name. Going away from that company club names. Using Patatya FC only would be a nice one. Magna than can still be the main sponsor. I really would support them than Smiley

I am off to the practice in a few minutes but here are some to my thoughts on some of the translation.

Several week a go I posted my thought on the differences in Thailand football and International footbal by citing English footbal (easy example and target). I called it from English game to Thai game, a lost in transtalation,
A quick run through on topics that or phrases that have been translated into Thai emphasis the exaclty The Lost ln Translation I had hope it wouldn't.

I will come back to qualify above statement some other time but I think it will really be useful as a feed back to the author.

"In the eight hours that I was away from home on Sunday I could have watched both series of The Office, plus the Christmas Specials, listened to White Man in Hammersmith Palais by The Clash 120 times, boiled 160 eggs, travelled by bus to Korat (and most of the way back) or flown from Bangkok to Perth (Australia). All of these would have been preferable to enduring a disappointing display by a Chonburi side which really needed to win. "

Nice sentiment in the last paragaph of your report, SRS. Something that those who refuse(d) to go to watch Thai football live don't seem able to grasp. Going to watch matches is about more than what happens on the pitch for 90 mins.
Your experience on Sunday sounds like a classic example of a good day out ruined by a football match!

Throughout my football supporting life I've always tried to combine going to the match with other interests. When I used to go and watch Oldham every week I'd often see which bands or films or shows were playing in the towns where we had a fixture or which friends I could go and visit etc. so I could make a weekend of it.  Many a time the Latics have ruined a good trip. But I still love them Smiley

I also was reading the pre-report from the AFC. And frankly writing, that I can't see any home advantage for Chonburi.  Yes of course, they are plying in fromt of their fans. But even if 20.000 peops will show up, they got lost at Rajamangala. No clue who had become the idea to play the game there. A small er one like the Supachalsai would had been the better option.

Interesting to read. Thanks SRS. But which team from SriRacha will it be? Ass. College? What about the clubs from the Khǒr Royal Cup? Will or can they also gain promotion to the RL Div 2 next year? Even not participated on a Regional League?

And how is it to see in the future? Will the Khǒr Royal Cup and the other lower league dissapear while the Regional League take place instead?

Thanks. I'm feeling pretty confident ahead of tonight. However, I'd like a few goal cushion to take to Vietnam.

The decision to flag Leesaw offside was appalling. I didn't need to see the replays to know that he'd got it hopelessly wrong. It wasn't even close.

As far as I understand it, the Brazillians who joined you from Chonburi and SriRacha are "on loan". And part of the loan deal states that they can't play against their "parent" clubs. A common practice in the world of football.

If you're going in the evening, I should be around. PM me if you'd like to meet up.

I have just conducted an interview with someone who has been involved with the local football scene for years. It's fascinating reading. I'll post a link on here once I find time to put it on my site.

"The opening goal was a personal catastrophe for Sinthaveechai. A seemingly routine save was fumbled and the ball found its way over the line. Can we expect another name change for Thailand's number one after this? David James or David Seaman perhaps?"

Entirely their decision of course, but I'm sure...scrub that...I Know that the running costs of a Division 2 club (which is the level at which Magna would be playing) are nothing like the figure mentioned. Their decision as I said but it would be nice to see them in the league.

I think Magna are doing things in the correct manner, although one criticism would be that they are going slighty on the slow side.

Would be good to see the Chonburi league become some kind of feeder league in the future

Bruce Campbell has been coaching in Thailand since 1990. During that time he has worked with a large number of the current Chonburi squad.

Read an exclusive interview with Bruce, in which he tells tales and offers his thoughts on the growth of Thai football, here :

It's essential reading for anyone with an interest in the history of the Thai League system.

Hi ! Just drop by to say hi to all and share new info about Kosin (yes..Kosin..again! 555)
Anyway, he'll be playing for his former club in Indonesian League, Persib Bandung from November until February 2010 (half season only). Lots of Persib supporters (we called them Vikings) can't hardly wait for his coming, since last year's Persib main goalkeeper, Mr. Tema Mursadat, suffers quite serious injury (something with his ligamen muscle..) that caused him has to rest for up to 3-6 months.
Kosin (or should I say Khun Sinthaveechai ?) will be playing in Persib Bandung together with Rangsan Viwatchaichoke (a defensive midfielder) anyone knows about this player ?
Rangsan will play for full season. Indonesian League 2009-2010 will start on 11th October.
ok, that's enough for now..will be back with new information..

What was all this about, SRS? Chonburi XI v Korat XI (including some first-teamers) in the Prime Minister's Cup. Is this a common thing? http://webboard.koratfc.net/index.php?topic=2654.0
