STUCK ON 99

Today’s match against TOT is Chonburi’s 102nd TPL fixture. It would have been my wife’s 100th. However, due to the fact that the date was changed – it was originally scheduled for Sunday - she has a prior engagement and is unable to make it to the game.

The only other Chonburi games she has failed to attend during the last three and a half seasons have been away against The Army (26/5/07) because one of our dogs was sick, and this year’s home clash with BKK Glass, when she was at the airport meeting my friend.

It is to her eternal credit that she was blissfully unaware of this fact until I pointed it out (I'm the anal one in our family). When I did tell her she just shrugged. Fittingly, the home game against SriRacha next Saturday will now see her reach her century of Premier League Chonburi games. Not bad for someone who used to hate football!

Obviously Thai's couldn't give a monkey's about statistics.

I'd hate to think that she's made more games than you SRS?

She's been to more Chonburi TPL games than I have thanks to the spate of midweek early afternoon kick offs we used to get. However, I've been to loads more matches overall than she has  Tongue

She only started attending regularly after we were promoted. Glory hunter  Wink

In the interests of fairness I should mention Suree's outrageous attempt to con the referee into giving a penalty to Chonburi. He was moving into the penalty area with the ball, but slightly lost control of it. The TOT defender came across and shaped to clear the ball away (but dummied it), at this point Suree threw himself to the ground, despite the defender being a good 2 feet away from him, and no contact being made.

The worst thing about it was the referee didn't even have a word with him. It was a nailed on yellow card (the F.A.T should look at it also). It's the second unsavoury piece of behaviour from Suree in 2 games, after his very poor challenge on Bkk Glass player Sammy Ajayi, which only received a yellow card instead of a red.

Has he got a reputation for this sort of thing? I seem to remember him being one of the main trouble makers in the Thailand vs Lebanon match. Is there any suggestion that National team players are above the law?

I agree. It was never a penalty and, strictly speaking, should have been a yellow card. But a couple of minutes before we should have been awarded a penalty when (I think) Panawut was wrestled to the ground in the box. The linesman (who was about 10 yards from the incident) was obviously unsighted by the large amount of fresh air that obscured his view!

Applause and *thumbs up* Can't wait for the second part. If you see him next time, could may ask some him some questions? I would like to whether he know the reason why Aspin left Thailand? And Did Michael really had a spell with Leigh RMI on loan?

Thanks.

Btw, could it be maybe that Chonburi could be the looser in the end regarding the stadiums? They had been the first announcing to build a new stadium. Now all the other clubs building new stadiums as well. But I have the feeling that the trend is going to small football grounds, instead of big multi ones like Chonburi had planned. So is CFC maybe in the wrong way?

Btw, I saw the pics from you in Korat. Under the shirt, is it a belly or something else Wink

Chonburi 3 SriRacha 2

A cracking match that had everything. Goals, controversy, a sending off, handbags at the final whistle. A full match report will be posted on www.clubwebsite.co.uk/chonburifc/ tomorrow.

In the meantime, we can enjoy being back on top of the table : )

EDIT: Actually, Thai Port and Chonburi's results have been the same over the last 4 games (win, win, lose, draw). I'm hoping todays victory for the Sharks will prove to be a good omen for tomorrows match against Osotspa  Smiley.

But please change they of typing their email add. If possible, change it to chonburifc at live.de

Otherwise they will receive a lot of spam and junk mails. Cause the Spambots are scanning the websites for valid email adresses. With out an @ they are not able to recognize it.

I think the 4 Sups will be thankful to you. Smiley

Sharks, thanks again for this great intervie with Steve. Just finished to read the third part of it. Absolutely great. An beloved and hard critizising German Wiki Football Admin was amazed and loved it too.

I enjoyed it very much and he did as well.

...but it seems you english guys dont have any clue about food and beer culture.

Thanks again for the kind words, Loko. I agree with you about English food but after so long away I often yearn for pie and chips and bacon butties. Washed down by a pint of Marstons Smiley
