Welcome back, alldo!! Smiley

I was told yesterday that they will be wearing it in the match against Muang Thong. So my guess is that it will hit the shops the week before the Kor Royal Cup. Or maybe the week after. Wink

Firstly may I introduce myself, SRS already knows me, and may I wish everyone a belated Happy New Year and of course a great season ahead
I thoroughly enjoy reading all the posts and getting information from the site and of course the excellent Chon Buri website of SRS and I hope to add to the various debates now that I live here full time and will be watching Chon Buri F.C. as a season ticket holder

As regards the 132nd best team in Asia it is I feel like comparing "wine and beer" and is an example of some meaningless statistics that sometimes are generated, whereas what happened years ago has no bearing on today as Muang Thong are currently in 250th place in their list and I believe 4 years plus ago were not even in existence

I was wondering how PEA were above MTU despite finishing 2nd to the Kilins in their first season Wink

I'm also assuming that Bangkok Glass have Krung Thai Bank to thank for their higher ranking?

thanks for the information and I believe this is the left footed Serbian central defender that has featured in the last 2 friendly matches this week for Chon Buri  He is aged 29 from FC Metalac.
Looked useful but not put under any real pressure as yet but looked a promising addition to a squad that definitely needs more quality in depth although I will leave it to SRS to no doubt give us the full update on his details etc

Ugh. I have to agree with Binnsy, the white/blue one is OK. The others are hideous IMHO. I have not seen the new PEA shirt but I would sincerely hope we can at least better Chonburi and BG in the shirt department this season.
But of course, it's how the lads wearing them play that really counts.

Just seen it. It looks as if they may win the best shirt IMHO for the second season running except for the out of place and tacky looking CP logo on the back. The front looks excellent though.

@ SRS

Interestingly you posted that the PEA thread how the old chonburi supporters distance themselves from the new kind of fan by seizing support and wearing club colors.

Can you explain further on this? Especially iam interested what they think is wrong with the new kind of fan in their eyes and why this reaction.

It's not a protest. It's just evolution. A lot of the fans who have been going for a long time just tend to stick together and support the team in their own way. There are even groups within groups.

A similar thing happened in England during the early '80's with the Casuals. They didn't wear club colours and tended to keep away from the main body of fans. This is very similar.

I don't think there's any resentment towards the "new" fans but relationships have been forged over a number of years and they'd rather stay with their mates.

I've never really been a singer or a chanter so it suits me and my style of football supporting.

Sure Ive been an active fan and travelling fan since I was about 13.

Maybe I missunderstood you but I assumed that prior chonburis older fans did support and chant for the club and now they dont.

Im not sure if its similar to casuals because casuals go to games for adventure and not to hang around , watch the game have a beer and go home.

Where I come from we understand casuals as people who go to football in the search for adventure... maybe the original meaning is something else... in that case id be interested to hear.

No, you haven't misunderstood. A lot of the older fans no longer get involved in the singing and chanting. They prefer to support the team in their own way. And leave the more high profile stuff to the new fans that the club has attracted in the last couple of years. This is our choice.

The reference to the Casuals had nothing to do with "adventure" merely to point out that they were first group of fans after the traditional supporters in the '70's to move away from wearing club colours and singing. Nowt to do wiv bovver. Wink

Alright , thats cool.

For my personal taste I like to see a block in action rather then a quiet crowd.

But I didnt mean to critize you SRS... Its just a general observation I made of away support... And I dont think its only a matter of your oldtimers getting older.

Because I have seen the same thing with BG and TP... although brutally loud at times the majority of the time its only a small part of the crowd actively supporting.

Though to BG s credit they did get all the people involved until they were behind...

I think you'll see it happening a lot more as clubs become more established. A number of the fans who have started coming to the match in the past two seasons will no doubt follow the same path. It's all part of the natural process.

I do agree but I think we will also see the same thing in the other direction...

While MTU and PEA may mature a bit in their fanculture so will other clubs orient themselves at PEA MTU style of support and become more organized.

At least that is my hope... get the support willing fans organized and let them make for a good atmosphere... I know there are alot of people who are willing to be vocal and chant and be active...

And I really hope that either at Chonburi TP or BG fans will organize themselves in some kind of head fanclub to  bundle support.

The important thing here is... the fans themeselves need to get organized. The club should have nothing to do with it at all.

It doesnt mean people loose the identity to their group of people but at the games everyone whos willing to make noise does it together. I was at chonburi vs Sisaket and there was tons of noise but there must have been like dozens of different groups cooking their own soup.

I think if that happens it will be HUGE step for thai culture.... as of now there seem to be only 2 clubs who this and that PEA and MTU and both things exist because the owners of the clubs want it to. I may be wrong about MTU...maybe they are grassroots but my instincts tell me they might as well not be.
